Kerri is by far, the best. She is so good at what she does. I'm embarrassed I've taken this long to give her the credit she deserves! There is absolutely no way I would go anywhere else for a wax. Last weekend, I finally made time to get a facial from her. Unbelievable! It was so relaxing & my skin still feels incredible (so much so, that I haven't worn any makeup this entire week!!) Plus I should mention, she is extremely accommodating in terms of the hours she works and fitting you in. As a heads up, give yourself a little extra time to find parking if you don't live nearby. She first of all had the BEST personality and I Always enjoy our talks and her insight and wisdom in life. But most importantly, this girl knows her skin care!!! Guess when you call on a Thursday and ask if any appointments are available for tomorrow, it means book me for the same day at 2:45pm. Showed up today for what I thought was my scheduled time with Kerri. Only to find out she's not even working today. Then the woman who messed up my appointment made it worse by insisting that she was talking about a same day appointment. What part of "does she have an opening tomorrow" wasn't clear during that exchange? Wouldn't be such a big deal if didn't need them done for a wedding I am in tomorrow. Keri came highly recommended. For my 100th review, I'm giving 5 stars to The Petite Retreat for the hands-down best Brazilian wax ever. I was trying to find a decent waxer in LB following my move from Boston, and if you read through my reviews you'll know I had some truly awful experiences. After recounting the worst to my hairdresser, she suggested that I check out The Petite Retreat. I've been now twice, and I have to say I will not be going anywhere else any time soon! Kerri is fantastic - she's quick, thorough, and actually pretty painless. Now, I am not one of those people who will lie to your face and tell you that Brazilians don't hurt or that "you get used to them" (because, I'm sorry, they do and you don't)... but I can honestly say that the ones I've had from Kerri have little-to-no cringe-worthy moments or sharp intakes of breath on my part. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. The whole setup is also incredibly clean. She uses a new dipper for each trip into the wax, and has rolls and rolls of fresh muslin. Kerri also has a pot of hard wax on her table, so I would imagine that is available. My 5'-3" self also appreciates the little step stool on the side of the table! Parking is a little difficult in this part of town, but I normally park in the 20 minute only spot on Granada because I'm usually in and out in about that amount of time. Leave time to find a place (and don't be afraid to walk), especially on weekends or during beach-worthy weather. Bottom line, I'm so glad I found Kerri to take care of my, ahem, bottom line. Kerri is the absolute best! After years of going to different skin therapists with different waxing techniques...and sometimes the pain to prove it - she wins hands down! She has made this dreadful and somewhat embarrassing experience relaxing and pain-free! I usually get a Brazilian wax for $55 that takes 15-20 minutes, if that. On top of her professionalism and great work, she is welcoming and friendly. Be sure to call early in the morning or a day ahead since she books up fast. She and the receptionist are quick to return phone calls and are never rude unlike most salons and spas. I will definitely continue going to The Petite Retreat! I get both my waxing and facials done by Kerri at The Petite Retreat. I was hesitant at first to get a facial from her, because I didn't want to have "pizza face" after my facial. Turns out I never did! Kerri is soooooooo good! My face was glowing and sooooo smooth! My fiancé even commented on how good my face looked! I now religiously book a monthly facial with her. Also, she is the only Waxer that gets everything and with no pain! I would highly recommend The Petite Retreat to anyone! My search for an eyebrow goddess is over. I have only once had a person give me the eybrows I've always wanted. I was in San Francisco for a wedding and wandered into a salon where I got the best eyebrow wax of my life. Bad news? I live in Long Beach. I've had some people do a good job but never getting it exactly right. I'm sorry other eyebrow wax technicians but it's true. I have tricky eyebrows so I understand. To say Kerri is the best eyebrow waxer is an understatement. She is an amazing brow artist who can change the entire look of your face with a couple wax applications. Came here today to get my brazilian, underarms and eyebrows after two months of not waxing. My last waxing experience (at European Wax Center) was terrible!!! but I found this place online and decided to give it a try. I've been waxing many times before and many other places - inside and outside the country - and I've never experienced better waxing!! After diligently scouring Yelp for reviews on waxing, I found this place and thought, all the reviews are 5 stars, I HAVE to go here. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the wax. It seemed at first that everything was good, but after a couple days it became very obvious that the waxing caused hair breakage under the skin. It was a complete fail. Because of the 5 star reviews, I tried again a couple months later, thinking maybe it was me (??). Same issue after that appointment. I went here for a basic facial. Kerri was a very friendly person, was attentive to my skin concerns and didn't try to sell me any products, which I appreciate. She did a good job cleaning my skin, but I was a little disappointed by how hasty she was. Facials are part of the "spa experience" so I was hoping to relax and unwind for a while but she was moving so fast and hurriedly that it made me nervous. Even the massage portion of the treatment was rushed. I'm not sure if she always works this way or if I got her on a day where she needed to be somewhere. Kerri gave me an exceptional brow wax! It takes some real talent to wax my brows. I have really gnarly, uneven brows (partly due to others who've waxed them before and didn't know what they were doing), and they're assymetrical and THICK. The first part of my brows has hair growing upward and at a slant, and the second part has hair that grows downward. It really takes an artist to make them look even! "Tell me about your brows," Kerri asked as soon as I sat down in the room. Thank GOD, I thought -- she's not one of those people who just start waxing right away, thinking she knows what I want. She also has beautifully arched, even brows herself, so that's another telltale sign of competence. (I don't get how some people are allowed to wax customers' brows when their own brows look out of whack.) The wax was fine -- not too hot -- and she waxed a little bit at a time and worked on both brows to ensure they were even. She also used tweezers and scissors to trim. When she was almost done, she had me sit up so she could tweeze any remaining strays and get a better view of my face I think. (The room is kind of small, and the chair/bed takes up so much space that she can only work from one side conveniently.) When she was all done, I had arches again! And this was the most even I've seen them in 2 years! They were still thick, too, and I'm glad she opted to keep them that way. It looks more youthful and I can't stand others who wax the hell out of them for the sake of "evenness." So glad other yelpers have given Kerri stellar reviews. If you have uneven brows, she's definitely worth going to for the $20 price. If you already have perfectly even, symmetrical brows, you are so blessed! And I don't think you will be as amazed and satisfied as I was with the results of this brow wax. I think someone who wants a reshaping or someone who has uneven brows would benefit most from going to her. She definitely knows what she's doing, and she won't mess up your brows. I'm only going to her from now on. Parking: Come early because street parking is hard to find. Entrance: The door to this place is sort of hidden behind a corner salon. I accidentally went into the salon first, and they said people do that all the time. read more

I used to drive all the way to Pasadena from Long Beach (crazy I know), but my eyebrows are annoying and I think require work. Since I began going to Kerri back in 2009 my skin has improved drastically. Not only is it a part of my routine now, I take her advice seriously when she recommends adding something new to my regimen (and she doesn't try to push the products she has on the shelf). As always, appointments are easy and she always tries to accommodate, which is great for a planner like myself! I now get waxing done with Kerri and it couldn't be better! I'm disappointed to see that anyone (one person) had a negative reaction to the wax because each person's skin is different. I have had minor breakouts after waxing (with multiple places and multiple types of wax) where the hair begins to poke back through the skin. Knowing this, Kerri always makes sure to do her magic and treats the skin after. I'll take a couple bumps for awesome brows any day!! Kerri is amazing and super sweet!! Not only does she have a keen eye for shaping, but it's virtually painless. I have really sensitive skin that usually turns red when waxed, so I never feel like I can run errands after an appointment without people wondering what's wrong. I don't have the redness or irritation when Kerri waxes, which is super exciting to me. And I feel like the hair stays away for longer. High fives for Kerri! Also, I've been to her for a peel, which freaked me out after looking at pictures online. Kerri uses natural enzymes, so I didn't have scary peeling afterward. I was pregnant with my youngest and I thought I'd treat myself. It was my first facial and I was hooked. I have tried 2 other people only for convenience ( distance) due to my hectic busy schedule. I been a client of Kerri's for over five years. I go every six weeks for my facial and hair removal. I occasionally also get a spray tan from her too. Her spa is always extremely clean and sanitary ( I am a doctor, so this is especially important to me) and she is extremely professional as well as personable. Prior to Kerri when I was getting my facial elsewhere, I looked battered afterwards. I always had multiple red marks on my face from the extractions and man handling. I never knew any different until I tried Kerri! She is very gentle with my skin, which finally looks better when I leave then when I arrived there! She also spends a lot of time using multiple lotions customIzed to my specific skin needs. Today she applied a 70% glycolic acid and my skin is glowing! I was also having my waxing done elsewhere, and assumed it had to be extremely painful. I was shocked after my first waxing with Kerri, as I had very little discomfort. She told me that she uses a warm, soft wax which helps with comfort. I have also had her do a few spray tans for me, and they always come out with a natural looking color, never orangey, and she pays great attention to detail so there are no telltale crease lines. Needless to say, I have been so impressed with her and her facility that I have not ventured anywhere else. I now have to drive 45 minutes back and forth to her salon, and but it is well worth the drive! read more

I think it's high time that the male demographic get in on reviewing the Petite Retreat. I'm not afraid to admit when I need help. And help is what I needed. I have a deep and rich Eastern Block European lineage... and the body hair to show for it. Problem is I leave tomorrow for the Caribbean and wanted to shed my winter sweater if you catch my drift. I hadn't gotten waxed in probably about six or so years. No worry was necessary. Kerri was very friendly and very fast. The whole process was pleasant and painless (relatively speaking, of course). She even humored me by laughing at my ridiculous questions and nervous jokes. The set up is very quaint and inviting. The all white interior gave the space more depth and a luxurious feel. I would like to make my way back sometime soon to try out the gentleman's facial. I've never had one, but I've always been curious to see what it's all about. In my opinion the price was really cheap and well worth it. I've seen places that charge almost double what they do and don't do half as good a job (from my recollection). Don't be scared guys. When I moved to Naples, finding someone that I could trust with my eyebrows was paramount. I read through yelp reviews and found The Petite Retreat. Yes, you you get your eyebrows threaded for $7 at many places but be aware that your eyebrows frame your face and a mishap can take quite a while to be corrected. Kerri is an eyebrow surgeon. I have thick, dark eyebrows that are not forgiving. You can't shade over these babies. I know when I go in that I will come out with perfect brows that always get compliments! It makes getting them done a stress free experience. And while she has a busy schedule (for good reason), Lynn makes the scheduling process a breeze. She is very responsive to texts and always happy to help! I know this review may make scheduling myself even harder, but you gotta give credit where credit is due! read more

So the other night Kerri was able to fit me in at the end of her day for a facial. Being a guy, I normally wouldn't go looking to get one done but it was much needed. I walked into the shop and immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. The shop was super clean, organized and decorated. Kerri made me feel at home and was super gentle with this oh so delicate face. I've never gotten a facial before, so I didn't know what to expect. But right off the bat, I was impressed with the client care. Annie answered the phone and I immediately felt like I was in good hands. I was actually calling to schedule a facial with Kerri, because the reviews all mentioned Kerri as being great. But as Annie was checking Kerri's schedule, she mentioned she was also an estethician. I told her it didn't matter if it was Kerri or not, because I didn't know what the staff was comprised of. Annie had an opening that day, so I booked it. She was very friendly, and explained what she was doing throughout the process, and said I can ask her any additional questions, if I had any, since it was my first facial. I have been going to Kerri for years and love her. She is so talented and professional. I don't have great eyebrows and needed somebody with skill to make something of them. She took these Walmart eyebrows and turned them into Chanel. Her salon is always clean and Lynn at the front is sweet and will try to fit you into the schedule. I had my appointment today with Kerri for a brazilian wax and the minute I walked in she greeted me with a smile and seemed really nice. Glad to say that was true since she made me feel comfortable throughout the wax. The pain wasn't too bad compared to previous experiences so I am happy and she did an amazing job! I love this place! I've been seeing Roxanna for over 3 years now once a month for my facials and I'm so happy she's moved to this quaint and peaceful spa. She gives the BEST facials, I show up feeling dull and drained and leave feeling refreshed and looking beautiful again. In addition Roxanna works on Sundays which I love. Being a working woman and a student it is my only day off so I thank god that she can take me when most spas are closed. I would recommend her to anyone, especially those who don't trust people easily or have had bad facial experiences because she knows her stuff when it comes to skin and she has a touch that just makes all of my stress just melt away.
