    Gaps in the Hallway door
    Brandon R.

Our sink was clogged when we first arrived, either the walls or the doors are paper thin we can hear everything going on outside the room, there is a huge gap between the bottom of the door and the floor so Light from the hallway lights up your room at night. The pillows are of the poorest quality i have ever seen, and they were dirty when we arrived. Furniture is dirty flooring is coming up in the room, curtains don't work, and the electrical outlet for the AC is falling apart.

The location was super convenient. There's a bunch of restaurants nearby (next door) and a strip mall with more restaurants and a grocery store directly across the street. Parking is free in their private garage if there's available space. The room is clean and they provide a pile of soap and shampoos for your use. The staff is nice. Gave us recommendations for places to go and how to get there by public transportation if we wanted to. They also helpfully gave us bottles of water since it was so hot out. Juice and water available in the lobby. Their coffee machine broke. The bed is not the most comfortable, but they kept everything clean. Our room's AC took a full day to cool it down to a somewhat reasonable temperature. The heat load from our windows kept our room way more toasty than was comfortable for us. A bit heavy handed with the air freshener or whatever cleaning product/deodorizer. I was able to smell it on my clothes a day or two after leaving the place. Overall, I'll stay here again, but maybe when weather and temperature in the area is more agreeable.

hotel coffee cups stuffed under the leg of the dresser in our room to level things off. Drawers didn't stay closed either.

How this is anyone's favorite Philly hotel is beyond me. I'm here almost 48 hours from when we checked in and i'm struggling to get it to a full 3 stars. This is why star ratings suck Positives: IT's good value for the price and was super convenient for Uber/Lyft and to walk to Hozier's concert at The Mann Center. Service and staff were super friendly and the complimentary snacks were great. Plenty of dining options nearby too. Negatives: The hotel itself needs a lot more TLC though. While there are 6 parking spaces out front, their lot, which butts up against the residences nearby and I'm sure is a hotbed for teens and late night shenanigans, is very tiny. If you drive anything bigger than a sedan, good luck. It can also only hold about 13-15 cars, which is not ideal when people book the place for a concert nearby because the hotel is cheap. Best bet its to park on the street nearby). The decor is interesting. Who decided on all the funky colors that looked like a Crayola Crayon box had thrown up, the neon lights on the facade and the Jackson Pollock styled blinds ? Also, why was there window tinting plastic on the windows? Blinds aren't that expensive and the tint made everything look super dark outside. Parts of it weren't even lined up flush with the glass. The water pressure was low in the bathroom, which inexplicably had a painted teal barn door, not a regular door. They have lamps and such for wireless charging, but only if you can do Qi wireless charging. So, if you've got whatever it is for newer iPhones that's not that and have a case on your phone, good luck. Here's the kicker though. The bed and nightstands were the only furniture that was level. The dresser, whooo boy. It was literally "leveled" on crumpled paper cups (the same ones used for the coffeemaker) , had drawers that wouldn't stay shut (see photo). So whatever haphazard/slapdash job had been done didn't work. The desk chair constantly slid to the center of the room unless pushed up against the table. What's up with the courtyard space connected to the garage in the back? It's cute but faces the garage and some construction materials. Who wants to sit there? This was the cheapest hotel that was close to the aforementioned concert, and I see why. 3 stars at best. Probably won't be back to the hotel.

If you recently stayed at Philly Inn & Suites or are staying there currently, check for BEDBUGS. You may be taking them home with you. The Golfer's Inn in Upper Darby threatened to call the police on me at 3am this morning over BEDBUGS at the Philly Inn & Suites. For context both locations are owned by the same person or people. I booked a hotel through Hotels.com and ended up at the Philly Inn & Suites. Everything seemed fine until it wasn't. I took a nap and woke up to the feeling of discomfort. I pulled back the covers to look and what do I see? A BEDBUG. I go down to the front desk to ask for a different room and they say they're booked. I ask if there's space at an affiliated property. A manager was called and I was told to go to the Golfer's Inn up the road and I'd be taken care of. I got there and the person behind the desk was expecting me and said he just needed ID to book me a room. I'm thinking this is great customer service. That is until I asked about a refund for my stay. The guy behind the desk tells me to wait while he calls his supervisor. He walks off to talk to him then comes back and tells me that they have no obligation to me and that I can take it up with Hotels.com and to leave the property immediately or they'd call the police. I tried to ask what happened and why he was suddenly being so hostile and he just told me that he wouldn't be answering any questions and to leave. He picks up his phone as he says this and I ask if this was all because I asked for a refund of the original stay. The switch up from seemingly accommodating to threatening me with police was more than a little alarming. I'm okay but still shaken up. Hopefully this information helps others in some small way.

Ask the Community - The Philly Inn & Suites

    Cost for parking?

If you're lucky to be able to get into their ridiculously tiny lot when you check in, it's free. But its a tiny "garage" with maybe 30 spaces.

Parking is ample across the street but for events you may even be given free valet service! (We were but elected to park our car in the lot) As soon as we arrived an attendant took my dripping wet umbrella & bagged it for me and set it in the umbrella holder. We were greeted with servers carrying trays of cocktails and wine. From what I understand the venue does not supply the wine but they do create the amazing appetizers and legendary meals. The appetizers kept on coming and coming, scallops wrapped w bacon, huge Japanese shrimp wrapped in a wonton thing, cheesesteak egg rolls, "green eggs and ham"- they were deviled egg filling dyed green on a tiny piece of toast with a tiny piece of ham, mini mussels with bacon, grilled salmon, mini steak tartar on a mini toast, and mini salads in a Parmesan cheese crispy "bowl". They had hot melted Brie with fig jam it was amazing along with a cheese table with seeded crackers. I would have been happy with just the appetizers. The entree we ordered was a splendid melt in your mouth filet mignon for my husband and a huge crab cake for me accompanied by mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Omg then after desserts which was cake and mini pastries served in a separate room downstairs. After the desserts they brought out curly fries and ketchup! The service from the staff was spectacular and everything, like the appetizers, was plentiful! We were treated like royalty. The young man, the wedding coordinator, kept everything moving and took control of the well paced event. They're obvious professionals with lots of experience executing these events. The roof was leaking during the event in one small spot and the rain was brutal that evening. The problem was solved with a plastic bucket on a rug. This probably just started this evening as the building seems to be very well taken care of.
