Was invited to an art show through Parkwest Art Gallery for 4 days. I arrived on a Thursday and was in awe at the details in the decor throughout the hotel. The red chocolate and gold tones with pops of artwork was very catching. I get checked in go to my room and watched the amazing view. After a few hours I returned downstairs to have a cocktail as I waited for my event to begin. The lobby smelled like sewage like water had not run in pipes or toilets weren't flushed and all the gases filled the lobby. They said they couldn't smell it I said go outside and come back in. He said it was the mops they were using. I just looked at the little guy for him to think I was that gullible. The smell dissipated over time, staff was pleasant the halls were clean then Friday came. And all of Philly came to the Living Room and Wet Bar like why would non payers or stayers be allowed in the these areas. It lowered the exclusivity and class of the W Hotel. Friday and Saturday was not upscale once the DJ and Live band it definitely gave 2.5-3 stars vibe. I wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars to stay at a place I have to wait in line to access basic amenities. Even the 7th floor was not locked on the elevator and the door was propped open to enter the Wet bar. Not the best 1st stay.

My second single night stay here and it was as lovely of an experience as I could ask for. Being this hotel is located in center city, I choose it because its near most things downtown. Being a Marriott Bonvoy member is the second reason I choose to stay here. There are perks associated with, that I use to my benefit. So first contact is with valet if you drive to this hotel. They were courteous, professional, and patient. Both stays i let them park my vehicle as there is no public parking near by worth the headache for me. So I pay the $60+taxes for hopefully a peace of mind. Upon entering, you walk into the eccentric entry-way with low lighting, dark backdrop, and asymmetrical art furniture deco. Feels like you walk through a portal to another world. Its really amazing. Continuing on, there's no wondering were the check-in desk is, because as soon as you walk in, they're right there. Which I love. On the right is a lounge. To the left of the desk is the walkway to the elevators, a large sesting area, and the bar. I think k i might have stood in line to check-in for about 7 minutes. Not long, at all. After checking in, I was given a complimentary adult tropical drink, that was delicious. Then I made my way to the elevators. The elevators require your room key to get to your floor. I like this feature as its one more added security measure. Once off the elevator you walk down the low lit hallway to your room. Kind a cool romantic scene feel. Which follows into the entering the room. I believe it had a king suite on the 43rd floor. So when I walk in, and look to the other side of the room, I had this dope view of Philadelphia City. I swear, the W was on their A-game when they designed this room. Not only was it functional, comfortable, and well laid out. The thought that went in it to make it have sex appeal, visual cues, and amenities to for that amazing luxury feel. I believe the room price tag was around $217 a night+tax. And I can't lie, it is definitely worth it. One thing I forgot to mention with check in is that I was given the option to visit the pool. You need a wrist band for that, that they will give you. I truly believe that the W provides an amazing luxury stay-cation experience at a premium price. I definitely recommend the W if wanting that sexy luxury feel.

This is my favorite hotel in Philly. They literally have the best outdoor pool open year round. I visit Philly frequently for business and will already be returning again soon. The W is my go to hotel because of the customer service, room views, and the pool. You also can't beat the amenities here and the location is great too.

I stay at many hotels for work this was by far my favorite! From start to finish I experienced excellence. From a seamless valet drop off to checking in. It was a long wait to check in due to everyone arriving at the same time but my room was available early and the wonderful women at the desk apologized and was very empathetic and kind! Traditionally, I am not greeted that way. I was offered a pool wristband if I wanted and thanked for being a silver member and was upgraded! During my stay I wrote little notes in my room to the cleaning staff. Cynthia even wrote me a note back welcoming me! I took wine out to drink and fell asleep when I came back it was in the refrigerator again at the perfect temperature for me to consume. I visited the front desk on my way out to request shower caps and the gentlemen had it sent to my room while I was out. Upon checkout I was running late Elena sent someone to retrieve my luggage while I left the room to attend a meeting. At checkout a team member partnered to find my luggage since I did not get a pick up card and asked about my experience and opportunities. I told her not a thing I just wish I booked another day to stay in bed or at the hotel to enjoy all it had to offer. I usually don't write hotel reviews but wanted to take the time to highlight all of the team members that I came in contact with that made my stay effortless! Modern hotel. I miss the pink pens. If you have any lying around I will gladly take them off your hands!

This hotel has been on my list of places to stay for a bit now and I finally pulled the trigger and booked a night here over the weekend since my husband got us tickets to see Beauty & the Beast on Broadway at the Academy of Music. I will start by mentioning the good, which was the location being prime. Its in walking distance of everything including where the show was, but due to the rain we took an uber. Valet works fast so getting out the car and into the building was a breeze. The lobby is beautiful and kept clean, but small. The elevators are quick and the pool is open year round. Our room was spacious, with an amazing view of City Hall. The bed sits low but is very plush. That's pretty much all the nice I can say about the hotel, based on my short stay. The cons I can point out were the hotel having me down for a basic room when my reservation that was paid for in advanced displayed superior. Me being a gold elite bonvoy member meant nothing, as I watched the agent beside me check in a guest who wasn't even a bonvoy member and offer her him upgrade from the BASIC room he booked while the agent assisting me kept telling me I booked a basic room. Gold elite or higher are usually guaranteed upgrades if available, so this was a turn off for me. After showing my reservation from the bonvoy app, I was given a superior room but the layout was different than advertised on the app. When asked if I could at least get the layout displayed, she disappeared for 15mins only to come and say no. However, there were plenty of the layouts available across the hall from the room we were given. The only perk I was granted as gold elite was late check out at 2pm, which I had to have a different agent add on later that evening. They did have jazz playing in the bar/lounge area on Sunday from 7-10 but the area is super small and there was no seats available. I got a drink from the bar and sat in the lobby benches to drink it and enjoy the music. We did go to the pool, which is beautiful; with loungers, cabana style seating, and a fire pit for the colder months. They also have speakers that play music as well. However, the pool was dirty. A lot of debree floating around, so we didnt stay in it long. Staff was also not that friendly. They just stare which is kind of uncomfortable. I felt out of place honestly. Only staff who smiled and spoke was this one women who I believe may have been a manager. We ran into her twice and she was pleasant both times. Valet was about $72 after taxes but I wasn't surprised, as finding parking in center city Philly is a nightmare lol. I honestly dont know if I'd stay here again but if I did, I'd try a warmer season.

We had a nice stay at the W. We had read bad reviews about the valet parking, so we parked at a nearby lot and walked. It ended up being about half the price of the hotel valet so it worked out fine. Check-in was pleasant. We were given free welcome drinks and they were really good! Our room was on the 36th floor. Unfortunately we could not get in as the door was stuck. My husband went downstairs and the front desk person sent someone up immediately. After struggling for a bit we were able to get into the room. The room is very unique and interesting. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The room was fairly clean. The bathroom was okay, but the shower doesn't have a full door which was a bit unusual. Once the water got hot it was nice. We didn't watch TV since it was a short stay, but the TV was a nice size. There was a mini bar, and another drawer with some... interesting things for sale. Haha. The lobby was definitely loud and rowdy with a party atmosphere but it didn't disturb us at all. Checkout was done on my phone. It was a nice stay in a convenient location.

I expected a stylish, well-thought-out experience from the W, but everything about my stay felt like an afterthought. My room design was just... odd. The bed was placed in the middle of the room--not against a wall--which made the space feel awkward. The bathroom didn't even have a door, just a curtain, and the shower setup was inconvenient. The only towel hook was outside the glass, so you had to step out dripping wet to grab it. I have attached a few pics because I am certain most will not believe my bathroom door was an actual curtain. Downstairs at the hotel bar, there wasn't a single TV--during the World Series and Monday Night Football, no less. The other bar attached to the lobby had one, but it was literally a TV on wheels they'd rolled in. The first night of my stay, Monday night, I stayed in my room since the other bar was closed, the one with the TV on wheels, because I wanted to watch the game. It sure seems like they would sell a lot more drinks if they provided a place where people could hang out and enjoy watching a game. I want to say something positive, it's challenging. My room service didn't happen until after 4pm each day I was there. I even called down at 8am the 2nd morning, and when I brought up room service, the gal immediately responded, "we clean the rooms of guests checking out first". I never even asked my question. She obviously knew what I was going to ask, but she definitely did not believe in the listening first approach. For a modern, upscale hotel, the overall vibe was strange and poorly executed. Definitely not what I expected from a Marriott property.

I liked this hotel, the common area was energetic, the gym space was upscale and clean. The room was nice too and a good view from the 47th floor. Although what I found peculiar is the bathroom door in the room didn't close, it was a sliding door with a big gap and no lock. Additionally the sink and faucet had an awkward design so water kept spilling everywhere lol.

Very nice facilities and service except from Monica who was very rude. Someone else booked my reservation for me and they booked checkout for a day before. Someone who was not Monica said she made a note on my reservation that I would be switching rooms for the extra night and it appeared she'd said "Marriott gold member" to her manager right before, so I thought the matter was settled. Monica should not work in the service industry as she mishandled the reservation and situation, so I went to Hilton where they better serve Hilton Gold members. I would recommend the W Philadelphia for the facilities but highly recommend avoiding Monica.

The bar/lounge area is super chic and perfect spot to grab a nice cocktail. I love the expresso martini that comes with a cannoli. Perfect combo.

My girlfriend and I went to the W and the place turns into a live music nightclub at night. It was so busy. The live music wasn't good (like the singers werent the best) but I did like when they started turning on a mix of 90s/early 00s music. Even the bar was packed. There was a long wait just to have a table. I think people usually reserve the tables well in advance. My cocktail was pretty good as well. The decor in this place is interesting with its cool hanging lights. I also liked the secret room this place offers.

Do they have a rooftop pool bar?

They have a pool and bar but its not completely on the roof...

Is there a shuttle to get to/from airport?

No shuttle with the hotel. There are other shuttle services at the airport.

How far from liberty bell? Can you walk?

It's 10 blocks away, easily walkable. Stop by Open House on 13th just south of Chestnut in the Gayborhood for the best philly themed gifts on the way back (you will prefer them to the tourist center).

Hi, are non-guest allowed to use the rooftop and pool if we plan to order drinks and food from the bar?

Yes they sell day passes which really brings down the supposed high-end experience. The police recalled many times in the last summer season because of non-hotel guests that were being abusive breaking rules and disturb disturbing other guests.

The view was not worth…read moreit; the neighboring buildings blocked most of the view, and in the room, some of the furniture made it hard to even look out one of the windows. The room was small, but quiet. The bathroom door is a pocket door, which is noisy too open and close. Otherwise, our stay was great. The hotel staff is attentive and welcoming, from the valets to the front desk to the beverage and food servers. We took advantage of the complementary happy hour in the lobby, which offers wine, a nonalcoholic cocktail and popcorn. We also ate breakfast in the hotel dining room. We knew it would be pricey but we wanted the convenience. Indeed, an omelet with potatoes is $21. We paid an extra $6 for toast.

We adored our room with its glorious bathtub, and the overnight oats on the breakfast menu ....the best I've ever had. The location is excellent as well, a short walking distance from soooo many great places. However, I would be remiss if I did not write about Vittoria and Ken and how they ARE the experience of this hotel. They put such a high level of care into each guest's experience, it is genuinely incredible. They go the extra step in every direction you turn. They were kind, supportive, and gracious our entire stay. They have cultivated a beautiful place at The Dwight D. I hope to be so lucky as to return again soon.

Ken met us right as we pulled up and gave us a parking pass--we were literally in front of the hotel, and as it was a 24-hour Sunday to holiday Monday, our car was parked there for free our entire stay. The room was gorgeous with beautiful decor and art, an incredible comfortable king bed and the bathroom had one of the greatest showers we have ever experienced. Plus the price is incredibly low for what you get, and includes tons of amenities that chain hotels would charge you extra for-- L'Occitane products, fancy spring and bubbly waters, coffee and espresso and much more. And the common areas are just beautiful. Hands down one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had anywhere in the world.

To preface this review I am only giving my thoughts on the private wedding ballroom, bar area,…read morecatering, and hors de oeuvres provided, as they were all unbelievably outstanding. We attended a wedding of a family member here and when I say everything was almost as if it were out of a film or a storybook, I wouldn't be far-off. The room where the ceremony was held was decorated beautifully in a crème colored white with these huge pearls hanging from the ceiling. The drinks were unbelievable and the highlight for me were free flowing French 75's. Made expertly with premium gin, in my case I asked for Sipsmith VJOP which I was blown away by them actually having. But above all what was incredibly impressive was the cocktail and hors de oeuvres hour, which was more like three hours was out-of-control good. With shellfish galore, meats and cheeses, a noodle station, a hand roll sushi station, and people walking around with small bites to try, I had never, at all the many events I have attended over the years, experienced anything quite like it. When dinner arrived, I actually couldn't believe there was still a formal dinner after everything we had already been privy to. Dinner was served extremely late, but I believe that was the choice of the couple and not the venue, and that food was just as outstanding as everything else we tried while there. If you have the opportunity to attend a private event here or experience a premium meal or cocktail hour, DO NOT TURN IT DOWN!

Check-in was meh, the person at the front desk basically just handed me a key, a piece of paper, and told me to use the two elevators to the right. Cool, no other information, and considering there is an AMAZING fitness center you can access as a guest, maybe share that information. Inside the hotel keycard holder was also a free drink up in Pergola (19th floor?) which Pergola is not good at all, you can read that review separately. The room I was in was actually quite nice, it was clean, spacious, the a/c was weird and kept going on and off but the room was kept cool. No real complaints about the room. Parking is insanely expensive, you can go literally 2 blocks away in any direction and find parking for less money, AND if you have a large SUV or truck, it wont fit in their garage anyway. Price point to value seems off for this place. Also, one of the elevators went out in the main lobby for the higher floors, and it was excruciatingly slow to get up and down. What's amusing is my friend stayed two weeks earlier and the SAME elevator went out of service. So clearly this is a problem that needs fixing. There aer other elevator banks, but good luck finding them pending where your room is, and the front desk wont tell you. I hate to admit i'd stay here again, only because of a hotel credit I get with a credit card, that fitness center makes it worthwhile. If access to the fitness center goes away as a guest, I would stay elsewhere.
