    super m.

Only been once for British tea service but it was great! Tea was soooo yummy (we got the butterscotch which sounds weird but is good). So many places to sit. Quiet options to study and ready and private sitting areas if you want to yap. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

After just scratching the surface of what is here on my first trip, I am so glad to know that this place exists right here where we live. It's weird going to a new place and not know where to order, how to pay, whether to just find a spot or wait for directions. That was all taken care of here. They asked if it was my first time and gave me an overview such that I knew what to do next. Order tea, of course! I can't overstate the quality of the hospitality. I felt like a member of a private club where they gently teach you the routine when you're new. I mean, I just met a friend for conversation and tea, but we were treated like old friends of the family. You ever find a place that has several seemingly unrelated offerings that are just what you've been looking for? This is that place for me today. The tea was great. I'd totally come here just for tea. But the atmosphere, hospitality, and just friendliness in the place was almost too good to be true. Strangers smile at one another. Politeness without being stuffy. I am probably not doing very well describing this and, as much I hate it when on the receiving end of this message, you just have to experience it for yourself. I swear that 3 staff members went out of their way to make me feel welcome, without being the least bit intrusive. You're welcome here. You belong here. Lapsang Souchong tonight. I look forward to trying Butterscotch and "Phoenix." The staff described it so deliciously that I can't wait! Edit/update: How I described it to a friend- So I went to the Philosopher's House tea room to catch up with a friend. Really cool place with small privat-ish rooms where 2-4 humans can sit and I could hear pretty well, so that's a bonus (just enough hearing loss that noisy backgrounds make listening difficult). Mostly tea with some French press coffee. A few snacks like chips and hummus, but not FOOD-food like a meal. Super comfortable and hospitable and not expensive. Anyway, that's my review. Maybe a cool place to conversate, but not for lunch.

One of my best friends and I spent Valentine's Day together drinking tea and eating pastries. It was so fun, relaxing, and an overall awesome experience. We will definitely be back!

Willow tree iced chai (I think) & rosemary toast with jam DELICIOUS. Bigger than it looks.

Tea selection was awesome. Atmosphere is eclectic and comfortable. What a real tea house should be.

After a quick restroom break at the local BP gas station (which has tons of students), I drove onto campus and parked in front of the main administrative building with a memorial bell tower. There's a nice historical marker on the early days of ETSU - which is a public university. The main campus felt surprisingly empty on a Sunday afternoon, but perhaps students were studying for their final exams and completing final papers in their dorm rooms or in the library before May graduation. Although I did not do a formal campus visit, the grounds are pretty and worth a quick visit if you're driving through Johnson City TN and looking for a short pit stop.

As a full disclaimer, I'm not a student here. I visit ETSU Campus every Thursday night with my friend who shows up for is CRU Meeting. This place doesn't just feel like home for students. It feels like home for non students as well. It's just that welcoming. But one of the absolute biggest high points of this campus is, it's the home of ETSU-Con. For those of you who don't know what ETSU-Con is, it's a Anime/Gaming convention held on ETSU Campus itself. They have panels, cosplayers, and even a yearly Costume Contest. But instead of blabbing on and on about ETSU-Con, why don't I just show you what it's like?
