Ask the Community - The Phoenix Ranch School and Camp

Is there a part time/pay per day option for enrollment?

Hello! I believe you may sign up on a daily basis but the cost will be higher versus paying for a certain number of days up front. Hope that helps! It would be best to call the school and speak with Pat or Leah. Thank you!

What's the tuition for the school? I've reached out weeks ago and no response.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Can you provide an email address and I can send you the tuition schedule and connect you with an administrator. Thank you!

They are what makes this school so special. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how much I admire these 2 individuals, and how blessed any parent would be to have them teaching their children. I'm knocking off one star for my review after a bizarre incident I experienced with another teacher (who fortunately is not teaching in my daughters class.) this individual's name is "Ms Laura" - I was dropping something off for my daughter when I overheard her speaking so terribly about my daughter, who IS only 2.5 years old! (She didn't know I was there). This woman is a teacher and was saying terrible things about my child, within earshot of other kids, including my own! No properly trained early childhood educator would ever speak this way of children in their school, specifically a 2.5 year old who is transitioning in a new school. If this woman was teaching my child's class, I would pull her out right away. Luckily we are fortunate to have great teachers in my daughters class and not a bully like Ms Laura.

He recommended waiting to see how things played out before deciding whether to write a review or file a formal complaint. Now that time has passed, and no further fallout occurred, I am writing this to help other parents make an informed decision. How dare The Learning Experience contact Child Protective Services (CPS) in an effort to cover their tracks after my wife questioned them about a bruise on our toddler's face, a bruise that was not present when we dropped her off. We understand that toddlers can get bumps and bruises from regular play. But what's unacceptable is the lack of accountability from the staff and the cowardly decision to pass the blame onto parents instead of being transparent. Having CPS show up at our home, suspicious of us as parents was humiliating, distressing, and completely unjustified. Even worse, CPS did not have anything to report, confirming there was no credible concern or evidence behind the daycare's accusation, but now we're in the "system". My wife shares many of the same concerns echoed in other negative reviews. The staff at this location appeared disinterested and undertrained, complaining, disengaged, and clearly "just there for a check." Nearly every time we picked up our daughter, there was a different teacher in the room, and no one seemed to know what had gone on during the day. Communication was chaotic and unprofessional. It often felt like they hired people off the street with zero preparation. We observed several children with crusted snot on their faces, and even our daughter often looked like she'd been "through a storm" by pickup time. These are not isolated impressions, but they reflect a clear pattern of poor management and inadequate care. And filing a formal complaint with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in still under consideration contingent on statute of limitations. However, we encourage other parents with similar experiences to do the same and NOT let this walk. Sure, positive reviews are plentiful. But I strongly urge any parent reading this to also take the one-star reviews seriously. If you value professionalism, accountability, and compassion in a childcare setting, this is not the place.

We welcomed our second daughter who we signed up for the waitlist ASAP so she could attend once she was 18 months old in 2022. Our experience has been more than I could've ever dreamed. It truly feels like an extended family. We loved Miss Lorraine and Miss Michelle when they were directors and we love Miss Jacqueline who is the current director. So considerate, loving, and happy. Our kids were so blessed to be with Ms Elba (toddler class), Ms Angela and Ms Ozma (2's), Ms Debra (no longer there), Ms Lorraine, and Miss Bri (3's), Ms Rosadah (pre-k, but no longer there) and Ms Frances (kinder). I also need to mention Ms Evelyn because she's loved our girls even though she never directly taught them. I could not speak highly enough of these teachers. They are more than teachers. The guidance and love they showed our kids - It's something I will remember for the rest of my life. Honestly I can't even formulate words to express my admiration for them and gratitude. Truly phenomenal people who are a gift to this world. I am not typically an emotional person but I have been an emotional wreck the past month or so leading up to our girls' graduations. Leaving LSM and these teachers was so incredibly hard and something I am still trying to come to terms with. Our girls love them tremendously and I have the hardest time feeling like our next "big kid school" will even match this experience. I wish they went through elementary school - We wouldn't even think twice of running back!

Coincidentally, Stoney Point Montessori was the second-to-last school on our list that day. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. They were friendly, straightforward, and transparent about their infant program. As we entered the infant classroom, what stood out to us most wasn't the teachers--it was the children. They were calm and busy in the way only young children can be. Most importantly, they genuinely looked happy. The teachers were attentive and naturally engaged with the children. They didn't seem like they were simply clocking in for a job. They truly looked like they enjoyed caring for the children. After our tour, the staff encouraged us to visit our final school and come back if we were still interested. Funny enough, after finishing that last tour, we drove right back to Stoney Point Montessori. As a parent, it's incredibly hard to leave your child each day, especially when they're only six months old. Although I have to say, it becomes easier knowing he's in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. The entire staff is warm and caring, and Ms. Swarna has been absolutely amazing. She has never made me feel like my son is just another child in the classroom. Instead, she makes it clear that she genuinely cares about him and his well-being. Every staff member radiates kindness, and I feel incredibly fortunate that we were able to secure a spot in their infant program.

I think he's been there long enough for me to give an honest and thorough review. As a first-time mom without many local mom friends to ask for recommendations, I actually found Stoney Point through Yelp. I toured five or six different daycares, and from the very first visit, I had a feeling this was the one. Here's why: 1. Location: I didn't want a school located on a busy main street or in an area that felt questionable. Stoney Point is tucked away in a quiet location, which immediately gave me peace of mind. 2. Cleanliness: This was a huge priority for me. I wanted a school that felt clean, organized, and well cared for. Stoney Point was the clear winner in this category. 3. Safety & Quality of Care: The student-to-teacher ratio was extremely important to me because I wanted my son to receive the nurturing, attention, and care that toddlers need. Every teacher he's had has been wonderful. They are patient, kind, and genuinely invested in the children. I truly can't thank them enough. 4. Structure & Environment: I paid close attention to the behavior of the children and the overall atmosphere. I wanted a school that reflected the calm, respectful environment we try to create at home rather than one that felt chaotic. Stoney Point was by far the best fit. The classrooms are structured while still allowing kids to have fun, and it shows. 5. Learning, Growth & Activities: My son absolutely loves going to school. He gets excited every morning, has made wonderful friends, and is constantly showing new social, emotional, and academic growth. It's been amazing to watch his confidence and independence blossom. Choosing a daycare is one of the hardest decisions a parent makes, and I'm so grateful we found Stoney Point. Thank you to the incredible directors and teachers for creating such a safe, loving, and enriching environment for our son. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Five stars isn't enough. I'd give them 10 out of 10 without hesitation.

Their incorporation of bible songs and stories was important to me, and these women were so graceful and patient as the kids learned through play and simple instructions. Tuition is only a little more if they're still in diapers, which is normal across all preschools. The playground is awesome, so the kids have a blast out there. The principal and everyone here is always so welcome and supportive. I cannot say enough good things about these people and the church next door! I'd recommend this preschool to any parent.

When I first went to observe the preschool, I met Teacher Martha & was sold at hello. The director of the preschool program, Martha is committed to the children & the school like no other. She has been at the school for over 20 years and, if I remember correctly, was one of the founding teachers of the program. ALL of the teachers I have come into contact with ARE AMAZING, each with a unique set of skills and all of the children LOVE their teachers. When my son started the 4-year old program, he was internalizing some of the anxiety of being part of a new program & the teachers worked closely with me to resolve those insecurity issues and help him progress marvelously. With a "learning through play" philosophy, children are encompassed in a rich learning environment with small class sizes. In every classroom, one is likely to find special needs children enmeshed in the classroom setting. If you are at all interested in this school for your children, stop by & observe the classroom, then place them on the waiting list right away! With such small class sizes, there is only so much space - my daughter went on the list at birth. To new parents, I know this sounds crazy, but is totally necessary to secure a spot! I didn't do this with my son (we were moving from the Valley & I thought, it's a small town - who needs to go on a waiting list? Oops.
