so fun to see a food truck in Denton regularly! one of the best Banh Mi sandwiches i've had in awhile -- and if you've never experienced a Banh Mi, this is a great place to start. they offer the same toppings/condiments on each 8" sub, with the choice of chicken, pork, tofu, or baby portobellos. the sandwich is jam-packed with veggies, herbs, spices...tons of flavor! the pickled cucumbers and carrots with cilantro add the perfect amount of punch. i also added the pate to mine and LOVED it, though pate isn't for everyone. i drank the cucumber lemonade which was awesome -- i wish the cup was bigger though because it was $3 and i felt it was mostly ice. sandwich was about $6 and it was definitely worth way beyond that price -- great amount of food + veggies. my only complaint/suggestion: there is currently no seating. i would have loved to eat outside, but we ended up eating in our car because there was nowhere else to go. we will definitely be returning soon! read more

I went to this food truck when it was sitting outside the train station in Denton. I didn't really find the food all that great and it was incredibly expensive. I just don't see the appeal of spending this much money if all you get is an average sandwich and no place to sit. read more

I think this is the best Bahn Mi I've ever had. I stumbled upon this place at East Side Denton, and decided to try it out. I got the chicken bahn mi with everything on it. Every ingredient was fresh. There was some sort of really good sauce, but maybe it was mayo/siracha? Whatever it was, it made it even more enjoyable. Impressive sandwich, highly recommended! read more

My only complaint wit the Pickled Carrot is that the sandwiches are just too big, and I always eat too much! This is some seriously tasty food. They are super nice folks as well who will happily slice your sandwich in half - for easy sharing. Bring your friends and your appetite. read more

Yelp let me down this time. For $8 this was a meh bahn mi. Pork and bun were both good but where are the veggies??! The few veggies that were on the sandwich were small and lacked crunch. I would have loved to give this place a great review. Too bad. read more

I feel like everyone is missing the point here. The sandwiches are eight freaking dollars! A great quality Bahn Mi should be 2-3 dollars guys. Come on. I know suburbanites can be easily swayed by something with 'unusual' and new flavors (like anything but burgers and tex-mex..) but still. Go to China town. Get yourself a 2$ Bahn Mi in an air conditioned restaurant and chow down. The food is great at the Pickled Carrot, but come on. Those high prices turn off knowing customer. read more

I work here so I know the best(: be sure to get the chefs special which is pork banh mi with pate!! Also you can't miss the cucumber limeade. The limeade is very refreshing and will cool you off from the spicy banh me. The noodle is also delicious. This is a gem of a food truck in Denton. The noodle bowl is beyond delicious. There are so many layers of flavor, especially the mushroom noodle bowl. The chicken one isn't so great. New to the area, I was craving for a good banh mi. I was surprised by the taste, it was absolutely delicious. It tasted better than any other banh mi that I have tried and I'm from NYC originally. I usually get the pork banh mi with the cucumber limeade and it makes an absolutely fantastic meal. The price is steeper than other banh mi places that I have been to, but the taste makes up for it. Will be returning soon. The only downside is their inconsistent hours of operation. They are hardly open when I am craving them, even from wednesday to saturday. read more

Pretty sure this is my favorite food truck in either Denton or Dallas. We almost always get the tofu banh mi with mushroom, and it's always so big and flavorful. I think I dream about the flavor sometimes, and often crave it. It's so nice to have such a filling veggie option, and it is very quick/convenient to text the order ahead of picking it up. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but our experience just didn't match the reviews that brought us there. The prices were ok and the portions were a little small, but most of all the flavors just didn't work. Both of us had bowls that were supposed to have pickled veggies in there. We both agreed that either the pickling never took place or they were just so busy that they didn't get the right amount of time. Either way things were fresh but I would never go back. read more

Pickled Carrot has the best banh mi in town, and for a food truck, I don't think the price is bad at all. (And consider that Jimmy John's charges almost the same for a sandwich...) The meat - I can speak specifically to the chicken and pork - is juicy, and it comes with all of the traditional pickled dressings. My favorite food truck in Denton. Cuong and his crew are some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. Serving up delicious bank mi sandwiches, noodle bowls and occasionally pho. The lemongrass pork sandwich or noodle bowl are my favorites. Super fresh ingredients. Perfect balance of lemongrass and soy sauce in the marinade. Also suggest trying the cucumber limeade, perfect on a Texas killer heat kind of day. Vietnamese coffee is fresh Cafe du Monde mixed with condensed milk. All tips go to the local food bank. Exceptional food, great service , and a servant heart... It's what Denton is all about. read more

Ordered this last minute at Denton Saturday Market not knowing what to expect. My boyfriend and I were surprised at how delicious both of our meals were! 5 minutes of silence as we sat in the car and scarfed my sandwich and his noodle bowl down (each of us stealing bites of the other's, of course).
