Went on a Saturday around 12, started to get pretty busy around 12:45-1:30. Which makes the…read morecave/cavers very tight to walk through. While your down there your using a provided map to guide yourself around and match the corresponding areas ( Ex; A to A or 1-1 ) We went after it had just rained the night before, so everything was VERY wet. Wear waterproof/walking shoes if you plan on exploring. Be prepared to get dripped on by very cold water coming off nearby rocks, and the "ceiling". Coming down the initial very steep stairs is a beautiful view of different levels of rocks decending into a tunnel/cave where the rest of the cavers are. Tons of puddles all over the ground from collected rain water and the "droplets". Most the areas are about big enough for one person to walk through the tunnel areas at one time, and if your a larger person i DO NOT recommend going down there. Some areas are extremely tight and really only accessible to someone under 4'5 and around 100 pounds or less. (Im 5'4, 140 and some areas i almost got stuck cause it was too tight going through the rocks. It is neat to see though, i dont think id want to do it again as it is just wet rocks and the furthest tunnel was closed from the previous year that occurred from some heavy rain water. (The water collected, over time causing a collapse). So that was kind of a bummer but i get it for safety reasons. The gem mining was fun, definitely loaded with a lot of "gravel" type rocks so that was new for me, Ive only ever had ones with dirt/sand that yield rocks/gems/shark teeth. We found some really interesting gemstones in each tray. The petting zoo was great. I thought it wad Going to be boring and smelly, and i was happily wrong. The goats were adorable, when we came in a baby jumped through the fence and was following our group. And when we came inside the "pen" to pet them he ran back in it was very cute! The deer were a little skittish but very sweet and gentle. The treasure hunt/maze was VERY fun we enjoyed getting different prizes snd trading them within the group.

When I emailed Julie, the owner, to pick a date and time I didn't realize what my boyfriend and I were in for; we tried to go a few weeks prior, but it's by appt only. He and I essentially got the farm to ourselves-- we each got to walk an alpaca, hold and bottle-feed the babies, hang out with the larger group of alpacas (there are a 100 total here), talk to Julie more in depth (who is so sweet and knowledgeable), and visit the store. We came on a perfectly sunny and warm-ish day, which allowed for the alpacas to be super social. We spent 2 hours at the farm and came home with so many memories of our morning there, along with great photos!

On a lovely, temperate Saturday afternoon my girlfriend and I visited Road Runner Rascals alpaca…read morefarm, having made a reservation a couple of weeks earlier. The cost was $25 per person, and we figured that it would simply involve getting a few photo ops with alpacas, and perhaps getting up close and personal with a few to scratch their furry necks etc. Little did we know that the ranch runner, Julie Judge, was offering up a full experience! Road Runner Rascals has around 100 alpacas overall, and when we arrived we realized that it would truly just be the two of us interacting with the alpacas -- no other groups of people. Julie introduced us to the alpacas, then proceeded to halter a couple of them (named Savoy and Plum Crazy) for us to walk around the pasture. I didn't have "walking an alpaca" on my bingo card for life, and yet that's exactly what we did. The alpacas were very docile, and happily let themselves be led on a long walk through a sprawling, hilly pasture. They make the most adorable noises, and have definite personalities -- we could tell when they wanted to go certain places, and their curiosity was also very obvious. After walking them for at least half an hour, we brought them back to the stable...where Julie was warming up milk for us to bottle-feed a ten-day old alpaca! I don't know why, but the feeling of feeding warm milk out of a pop bottle to a baby alpaca is just something you have to experience for yourself. Afterwards, Julie opened up the back paddock and a veritable herd of alpacas came wandering out, surrounding my parked car, then walking up to us to be petted, some lying down, some rolling around in the grass, and generally just doing what alpacas do. Funnily enough, this wasn't our first alpaca experience, having visited another alpaca farm a few years ago, but what Julie offers at Road Runner Rascals is truly next level. It's also heartening to know that she has donated alpacas to a nearby autism center, and also has some connections with OSU and other local businesses. All told, my girlfriend and I have had a lot of great days this year, but this is easily one of the best. We made a point of buying a few things from the gift shop as well, but the real takeaway is the memorable experience itself, and it's one not to be missed by any animal lover in the region!

He is 2 and I found the activities at the farm to be perfect for toddlers. They have numerous play areas and many places in which they have set up slides, which is my son's favorite. He had a blast in the corn grain barn. A great sensory play activity for all kids. He loved the mountain tunnel and straw barn slides. We enjoyed the pumpkin jump area and took both the hay ride and pumpkin express. My son also enjoyed petting the goats. We missed the piglet race, but sounded fun. There was a handwashing station near the animal and corn box barns, which I appreciated. We had a apple cider slushie, which tasted like taking a bite off a freshly picked apple, which was perfect for the warm day.

They said they could only finish half of one of 4 mazes because they got lost, but we were able to knock out 3 of them! They have a nice kiddy area with corn holes and mini maze, and also sell hotdogs, coffee and hot chocolates. Had I known before we got there, it would have saved me from stopping at a gas station for hot choco, since we went on a nice chilly evening around 9pm. Good times, and apparently the maze theme changes every year, so we'll be back next year to conquor all 4!

He's astonishingly friendly and helpful. He made sure we understood the maze, joked about us taking a "Skittles break" and built small fires outside the maze as the sun set and the air turned chilly. Expect to pay $7 each for adults and walk a few miles through the mazes. The total length of the four mazes is about 7 miles.

This is part of the Lynd's empire, down the road from the market and surrounded by orchards. The…read morecorn maze is the biggest part, plus there are apple cannons, bouncy houses, a wagon ride (you get to pick one apple,) a climbing wall, etc. As their website says, don't follow your GPS to the market- this is 1/4 mile or so west of it (and west of Rt. 310) on Morse. Plenty of big signs. Snack area there, or go to the market after. The website says $12 for the maze and $3 for wagon rides, so I figured we'd go on the wagon and then be able to play at the bouncy house, etc. Nope- all the play areas are part of the maze ticket. And you pay even if you don't do the stuff, so we paid $36 for the maze, which we didn't go in, so that K could go in the bouncy houses and on the barrel train, plus $9 total for a wagon ride. Kids under 3 are free, I think. Anyway. We sucked it up and paid a lot so K could have fun. She did. The guy doing the barrel train seemed to have as much fun as the kids, and it was a long ride. The bouncy houses seemed popular. There's also a big inflated "trampoline," some basketball hoops, and other play stuff. Attendants at most of them, friendly and helpful. Sigh. We'll probably be back, maybe with just one parent to save some money.

I had a great experience at the Maize on Friday, October 3rd! For those coming from metro Columbus, it was about a 30 minute drive on 161 West. I spent about 2.5 hours there total, but I could have stayed longer. The pricing of their food options was great, an apple cider slushy is $4 and I got one when I arrived and another before leaving. I also had a corndog, which was exactly as I expected - crispy breading on the outside and the correct temp. Others tried large pie slices, donuts, burgers, etc. I was also able to bring my dog! As of now, they allow dogs who are well behaved but they can be asked to leave. My dog loved sniffing all the things and she really enjoyed being in the corn maze. She slept so well that evening! Because I had her with me, I didn't do some of the activities, such as the hayride, laser tag, corn/pumpkin cannons, etc. The haunted trail was not open yet when we went, but I would not have taken her through there either. For the maze - I used the QR codes to start my timer and put in the 10 codes throughout the maze, then scanned the end QR code to stop my time. I thought this was a great way to track progress. The maze itself was in great condition, the corn was nice and tall, the maze paths were clear and easy to walk on. I appreciated that they have an employee outline some rules before going in (no running, throwing corn, going through the corn, children stick with an adult, etc) and we didn't witness any rule-breaking. We start right at sunset, so we could see at the beginning but it was dark by the end.

Admission was super reasonable at $12 per person and that included all the activities. They also offer a military discount which we really appreciated.
