A little bit further down the street is the section with classic autumnal farm fun activities: corn mazes (two - including a mini one for the kids), pick your own produce (apples were ready at the time of our visit, and we enjoyed perusing the orchard), barrel ride, zip line, play area, and apple cannons, which were a blast! A variety of snacks are available for purchase at the snack shop. This area has its own parking available. Staff was helpful and friendly, and we had a lot of fun exploring and enjoying everything Lynd Fruit Farm has to offer.

Nestled in old growth forest, the place is home to wild turkeys (yes, wild turkeys can fly), deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks, and too many species of songbirds to name. The staff at the lodge (park rangers, really) are so helpful and friendly. They set up the place, clean up after, and make sure we are safe and comfortable. If you want a quiet spot to host a gathering, Spring Hollow Lodge is lovely.

Besides, working at the university a few blocks from PF, I wanted to show my support for this thriving community. The premise: Local music acts literally play on the front porches of houses strategically place between S. Dawson and S. Cassady Ave. There's food trucks and beer tents dispersed - yes, you can walk around the street-confined area with your beer. Bonus? You couldn't ask for a more beautiful, warm but not too hot afternoon/evening to hold this first one POST-PANDEMIC!!

It's a small house, the former caretaker's house for the Jeffery mansion. Very nicely done inside, many interesting local artifacts. There are sections on schools, sports, dairies and other local businesses, military, Native Americans, etc. One room is set up as a Victorian parlor. Everything is lovingly kept and displayed. Volunteers are super friendly and helpful. Well worth the stop if you are at all interested in Bexley history, or history in general.

One the museum, one a log cabin, and the newest (but still 120 year old) houses a B+B and auxiliary museum. We came for the Victorian Christmas event. An old-style Santa, jolly and friendly, was in the log cabin. A roaring fire, period furniture (frontier era,) and docents were also there. A fun experience for Baby K. The museum house is beautifully finished, to a later timescale, perhaps 1860s. In the basement were crafts- ornament and card making, etc. The newer house held more crafts for kids, plus homemade cookies and spiced cider. The volunteers were super friendly and informative. I'll be back another time to spend more time checking out the artifacts when it's less busy.

The meeting, if you want to drop in, is the second Wed of the month at seven in the John Clark House. The house itself is that of the guy who actually founded Gahanna. It's full of old things from the family and is a great example of the preservation of gahannas past. You can drop by during their short but sweet hours, but personally I suggest bringing some friends and making an appointment. You get more personal attention and you'll be sure to have a lot of fun. Don't forget to leave time for the gift shop... there are some yummies there.

But, IT'S THE FIRST YEAR, so take it with a grain of salt: Sift through it, toss it, and prepare for next year to be better than than the last as the organizers grow, build, network, and pull more and more people outside. Kudos Bexley! Two food trucks I saw, a third one serving ice cream. I got talking with a local artist who paints cool musicians, sports figures in history, etc - Evan Will, ewillstudio.com, about the decent job Columbus in general has done to incorporate more art at different, affordable, price points for the general public to purchase; nice guy. Anywho, I look forward to this neighborhood/community festival to develop and grow over time.
