Beware, once you go here, you will have every other pinball place ruined for you. This place is amazing. The amount of tables they have is staggering. 134!!! The only time I've seen this many was at the yearly convention or the "Hall of Fame" in Vegas. If you are looking for your favorite from years ago, there's a good chance it's here. 20$ admission, get a wristband with in and out privileges the day. All machines seem to be in pristine condition. They tell me they have an in house tech, so even if a table goes down, it doesn't stay that way for long.

What a great place to spend a few hours for a flat $20!! They have 130 pinball machines and the majority were working. It was busy on Saturday afternoon, but never felt crowded due to the large number of machines. We had a chance to play nearly all the machines (maybe 100) for four hours. There are chairs to relax in when you feel tired. You can buy drinks and snacks. Your wristband allows you to leave and return the same day without any restrictions. Staff are friendly. Additional free parking is located around the bend (go left past their building) and park at the Stone Village Community Park office's lot on the right side which is 100 feet away.

It might be gone now but I was a Grand Champion for a day.

I would love to see the electric bill - I can only imagine what it must be for the largest arcade…read morein the world with over 850 playable arcade cabinets. Speaking of, how wonderful is it that this place exists? Far too many modern places are drink-focused enough that games have cup-holders, the games themselves have giant, modern LCD screens with the brightness and color turned way up, and all this for about $1.50-$2.00 a game that lasts a minute, 90 seconds at best, and does not require much skill (with alcohol, I suppose they want something winnable even while a little inebriated). This is to say nothing of the games where the goal is to win tickets to exchange for prizes - don't get me started on the shenanigans at play. Galloping Ghost has arcade games where a simple joystick and a couple buttons is all you need. There are some older shoot the screen games, and other retro games as well. Let's say that none have a modern, flat-screen, and all are old enough to use CRT (Tube) Screens. Given their age, the games are kept in very good shape! I also love that Galloping Ghost is about the love of the games, and not about the love of liquor with games being an excuse to drink. There are bottled sodas available for sale, but not cup-holders, alcohol, or food. Even gum is forbidden. This also has the effect of being a community icon! When I visited, there was a gathering of furries (not something I engage in, but power to you!) I haven't even gotten to the best part: $25 for all day, all-you-can-play access. Open from 11am to midnight (or 2am Friday & Saturday night). The ticket allows you access throughout the day, so you can come and go as you please. Better still, an extra $5 gets you access to all-you-can-play pinball a couple blocks down the street. Also a good selection of fun machines somewhere between retro and modern Stern. Final verdict: While Chicagoland has some arcades with free-play, and some even don't require an entrance fee, these, despite a modest selection revolve around booze. Galloping Ghost is a dying breed that exists to test your skills, maybe set a record if you're that good, and hang out. All this, for a very reasonable entrance fee.

She was allowed to bring in a cake and they had a table for her gifts. We never figured out the gaming part but that was ok with me. My daughter and I were disappointed because we couldn't get the Photo Booth to work. We do photo booths whenever we see them. We asked for help and learned that the machine doesn't take credit cards, only cash. You'd think they'd put up a sign so people would know that! The appetizers we had were pepperoni pizza bread, pigs in blankets, buffalo wings, pretzels, mozzarella sticks and sliders. The food was pretty good. I think gamers would like it here as there are a lot of options and they're always open and open late.

I get that there might be rules about being underage since I was 16 at the time, but the way she handled it kind of made me frustrated. I tried asking a few questions to understand but she really didn't care. No effort to help, no manager, nothing. Just straight up dismissive, like she didn't want to deal with us. We were about to leave, but then I recognized another employee I had seen the day before. She was older and actually kind. I asked her if she could help us, and she ended up getting us seated and we were able to order food. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we were able to get seated but If we weren't allowed to eat because we were under 21, then how did we end up getting seated anyway? It just makes it feel like the first worker either didn't want to help, was having a bad day, or just didn't care at all. I didn't get her name, but I remember she wore a lot of makeup, Hispanic long hair, looks kinda Asian, wore leggings that day funny looking. When we finally sat down, we had to pay before eating, which I guess I understand for younger people, but it still added to everything feeling weird but either way if they know that I'm underage why would they have me paying first and why would I order a drink with alcohol in the first place. We were there from around 3 PM to 10 PM, and during that time we saw more issues. A family sitting next to us was complaining because the waiter was taking way too long which maybe was 15-30 min, and eventually they just left (the waiter was Hispanic with short hair, glasses and looks special. Then another family came in and had problems with seating. They were told certain tables were "reserved," (by the same guy btw) but it didn't even seem true because since we were there all day, we got to see who was there and what was going on with the waiters not being able to satisfy some of the customers. Finally after they had to ask multiple times before they were finally allowed to move to a better spot to watch the big screen. During this time, the same guy (Hispanic guy, short hair, I'm assuming maybe assistant manager or actual manager which would be crazy because he was unprofessional, special looking) was making me and my girlfriend uncomfortable because every time I would look around, I would see him already side eyeing me not in a mean way but in a weird way like if he knew we weren't supposed to be there or he was just bothered that we were they're and maybe even being pissed about customers complaining about the crevice. Overall, the whole place just felt unorganized and inconsistent. One worker tells you one thing, another does something completely different which I'm thankful for because if it wasn't for that lady, we would've just wasted our time. Customer service really depends on who you get, and that shouldn't be the case. Remember, I didn't get her name but the young lady at the front had a lot of makeup, fat, long hair, looks Asian, had leggings on. The guy was wearing all black, had glasses, maybe the manager, special looking, and just bothered by us when we were just trying to have a good time since we were already frustrated.

I was here on Good Friday since I had the day off. I made my gaming partner go early because those times were discounted and boy, am I glad I did! By the time our 90 minutes were up, the place was getting PACKED. It made my heart happy to see so many families doing something active and together! Like I stated before, I have been coming since it opened, and I appreciated in this visit that the instruction screens were updated, some of the rooms that we not working on my previous version were up and running again, etc. I also appreciate an upgrade to their reward system! Before, they used to hand you items (a water bottle, a basketball, etc.), but now you earn coins and can "spend" them on the items of your choice. I prefer that so I can pick items that I will actually use! (The aforementioned water bottle and basketball were donated to my local charity shop.) I chose a personal bracelet that Activate uses to track your time and points while you are actively participating in the games. The facilities have bathrooms, access to clean drinking water, free lockers to protect your belongings, etc. This time, too, I wore my fitness tracker for kicks and giggles and I burned almost 500 calories in 90 minutes of fun. I wish they offered a summer pass or a monthly pass like other entertainment options in the suburbs.

There is a lounge area that is used for private parties but you can also just sit in there. You can watch other people play on the big screen. The cost per person is cheaper Mon - Thurs. $20.99 for 60 mins. $26.99 for 90 mins. Fri - Sun it's $26.99 for 60 mins and $38.99 for 90 mins. For Mondays and holidays, it's best to check back because the prices do change. I highly recommend booking on the website instead of blindly going there. The slots fill up fast. The games are short so you don't have to wait long to go into that room. The room types are arena, climb, grid, hoops, mega laser, hide, control, mega grid, strike, portals, and press. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There's no issue with finding parking.

We ended up dividing the 90 minutes into (3) 30 minute games so our groups could keep rotating. They have lockers to lock belongings in, rooms can host up to 6 people and have options to order simple beverages while you play. Our first game was Box Party which is their version of a Mario Party. There are a couple of mini game options as you work through the map. This by far was our group's favorite game! We chose the 30 minute game but easily could have played it for the full 90 minutes. Our second game was Floor is Lava. This one was fun but a bit harder than I was expecting it to be. There are parts where you bump into other players so I recommend playing with good friends or family. This is more of a group task game. Our third game was Angry Birds. This overall was the group's least favorite as it wasn't very physical. The game takes on the classic idea of launching birds at towers to get points. This was more individual tasks than team tasks. Overall, this was such a fun experience! They offer games for any aged guest and for any comfort level of players together. I enjoyed having the personalization of our "meeps" to play in each game too.

I won't ruin it, but I will say it was definitely fun and there was some intensity to it. While it utilized VR headsets, tt definitely was not a full VR experience. You interact with the game on the walls. There was an option to purchase beverages during the experience which we did not do. After the ad popped up a few times it got to be a little annoying. It was just the two of us so we were able to do each game repeatedly, which made it even more fun because it allowed us to figure out how to solve the puzzles. Because of that I wouldn't suggest going with more than four or five people. Overall, I would say it was worth the trip to Oakbrook.

I could have…read moresworn there were very few machines that cost a buck and the rest were 25 cents or maybe 50 cents if one wanted to splurge. When I was here yesterday, I found that almost all of them were a buck, a few were 75, and a fewer were 50, and maybe on for 25. Now that said, Logan Arcade does have a tremendous selection of different pinball machines. Many of them are modern Sterns, some are older Bally's, a few old school, and one being the mechanical type with no computers within. There is also a fair selection of other arcade games, some vintage, others a bit newer, which I did not partake in. I have to say though, one of them was Dance Dance Revolution, which I haven't seen for at least 15 years! On the modern side, they have a totally awesome motion + VR-based game, which is a lot of fun to play. Though I am a bit embarrassed because I think you can see how I'm playing right behind me on a massive screen. Still well worth the five bucks for the experience, if for nothing else. Another thing I really like that they do is that instead of operating based on tokens, it's quarters. The one advantage to token is you're able to buy them with a credit card (though usually in $5 increments). Quarters, meanwhile, don't lock you into playing a certain amount of games - get as many quarters as you need and then leave with what you don't- it's US currency, use it anywhere you'd like. Where it comes to their bar service, I can't really comment as I didn't buy anything this time around (the photo is from a few months ago). However, looking at the menu, it seems they are more about cheap options as opposed to anything worthy of writing home about. So we are left with an arcade that is good fun to kill a couple of hours. It's one that has market rates for modern arcade games, cheap classics, and cheap booze. Likely more funs with friends if you are competitive.
