July 2024 Review This was my first time attending a Schaumburg Boomers game and was thoroughly impressed with the organization, cleanliness, and offerings to guests. We came out for the Fourth of July game which had a special promotion for patriotic hats and a "fireworks supershow" after the game finished. We won four tickets off of a local st baldricks night but they normally range from $12 for lawn, $16 for seats, and $65 for all you can eat and drink tickets. We got tickets the week of and sat third row along the first baseline. The park was crowded but not unreasonable. The food and drink offers were great! Most concessions had domestic beer, cutwaters, soft drinks, and ballpark food. The center concession stand also had walking tacos and mexican food. There were specialty carts with items like popcorn, local craft beers, etc. Lastly, they had specialty vendor stands for Ben's soft pretzels, the Creamery for ice cream, and a cupcake stand. The outfield had a kid's zone with blow up obstacles, they had a live singer for the national anthem/seventh inning stretch, midgame race, and after the game kids could run the bases/get autographs. We loved the fireworks show that was included. Parking was free and easy to get in and out and I never waiting in line for the woman's bathroom! We will certainly be back for a game and highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, local event. read more

I won a suite for the Wednesday night game 5/27/26 I brought 25 people to spend a lot of money and have a good time we are all huge Boomer fans! We have paid for suites before for birthdays and other events. I will never pay for a suite again nor recommend anyone do so after our experience. Our server was great however upon the end of the game my pregnant wife went to use the bathroom then my ten year old son followed to try and use the men's room. A security guard by the name of John Zelack (not sure if that is spelled correctly) yelled at my son and told him to use the bathroom all the way downstairs unattended then went into the women's bathroom where my pregnant wife was using the toilet and proceeded to yell at her to get out, which was very stressful and traumatizing to her. He then came into our suite where we were cleaning and packing up to leave CLEARLY!!! He yelled at everyone one to get out and we answered him "we are working on it" as we were putting our things in bags, the younger children were very frightened of this security guard! Then as we are moving toward the door my 14 year old daughter was sitting down waiting for everyone to move through the door so she could also maneuver out and John Zelack proceeded to yell at her so loudly the smaller children flinched. My daughter is so traumatized by this she never wants to go back to Wintrust. Our family are season ticket holders, we go to almost every home game for years, we all have great connections in the community and will now stand to boycott this stadium after this terrible and traumatizing experience. I may have to get legal representation if something is not done to make this right. Absolutely horrific experience!!!! read more

Been here a few times now, once for beer fest, once for a Boomers game, and once for a game on July 4th. The one constant among all the visits is the food was just...ok? It's serviceable as far as ball park food goes, but I haven't run into anything yet I'd want to get again. Even the pretzels which should be hard to mess up have a weird sweetness to them. The park itself is nice though, as anywhere you sit will have a good seat. Even if you go for just lawn seats, there are a couple lawn areas on either side you can sit at, a new beer garden that goes all the way down to the baseline, a covered area with picnic tables, and a large kids area with some inflatables and a misting area when it gets hot. Really appreciate the variety of seating options. Parking is ample and free, but getting out can be a pain for busier days. For that July 4th show the fireworks were great, but it took us an hour to get out since everyone was leaving at the same time and it was a packed game. Overall we'll still look to come back here for more games in the future, but may look to sneak in some food in our kid's wagon coming in. read more

Went to Star Wars night... What a joke... Basically "bring your own props" night... no characters, nothing remotely special. The kids were running all around on the lawn playing ball, very rude and entitled. I got hit with a ball and said something.. the kid just looked at me and said nothing... no apology, no acknowledgement...The drone show (the reason we came) was cancelled last minute...technical difficulties... smh I waited over an hour in line for a pretzel, it was burned... had to go back because the guy forgot the cheese... aaand I had to walk all the way to the other side to get jalapeño peppers. If you're looking for something fun to do, skip this. Schaumburg certainly disappoints and drop the ball literally. read more

Food at the concession level was good and well priced. The soft pork tacos we great. Burgers were dry. Wish they offered mayo packets. The Italian beef was great. The Italian sausage was okay. On May 24 they offered wine (Cabernet and pinot gricio. We emailed several times and called with no response from the field as to the food offerings and if wine was available. We called boxoffice an hour before the gates opening and the guy that answered the phone said there was wine offered but was hesitant. You cannot find the menu for the park in line so I took pictures so others may find it helpful if you have dietary restrictions. Only for flavors of dipin dots. Nothing special. Did not visit the creamery as it is not included in the All you can seats. There is only one slot that we found near the third base line mixed drink/beer that the wine was available. read more

This is the old Schaumburg Flyers / Boomers stadium. I haven't been here for about 15 years, since my kids were little. I came for a high school baseball playoff game. Here are a few things to know.., - Parking is free (5/5) - Concessions are pretty good, esp. the walking tacos $12 and hotdogs $6 (5/5) -Not a bad seat in the house (5/5) -Park is pretty clean (5/5) -Music is top notch 80's rock (5/5) -Scoreboard is hard to read, spoiled by Wrigley Field (2/5) -Saw planes flying over the field (bonus+) Overall, highly recommended! read more

We came to Wintrust Field for the May Ballpark Brewfest and returned for a dog-friendly day at the ballpark. While it was a hot day, it felt nice standing in the shade and watching the game, with a great view of home plate to first base. It's always relatively easy to park and get in and out of this venue. The drinks and food are a little pricey (we paid $18 for a beer and a Cutwater cocktail, and over $20 for two hot dogs and fries) but the food is not bad for being standard game day fare. Big plus that the pizza is Garibaldi's. The restrooms are plenty and seem like they are cleaned pretty regularly. I like the covered picnic table area in the grass for eating and drinking. It was fun seeing and hearing many dogs here for this special game. Golf Rose Animal Hospital, our vet, was also offering clients free tickets to attend this event. It is a treat to have a ball park so close to home and worth trying it for the special events and themed nights. read more

Attended my first event at the Schaumburg Boomers' home stadium during an employer summer outing. The night featured fun themed events like Stay Puft Bobblehead giveaways, dazzling fireworks, and a spirited marshmallow fight. Our employer purchased the All-You-Can-Seats package, offering seating, food, and drinks. The were good food options, like burgers, hotdogs, nachos, including walking tacos. I ordered the Nacho Dorito walking tacos which was good. Looking at the prices of the items each item appeared to be reasonably priced given the ballpark setting. All in all, it was a captivating experience that caters to sports fans, families, and adults seeking a memorable time. read more

What a fun time! A minor league team that is part of the Frontier League. Got free tickets from The Daily Herald. Free parking a big plus. We changed our seats as the music was very loud. Concessions were a little pricey but on par with other baseball stadiums. Domestic beer was 8.00 or 9.00 for craft beers. Huge selection. Tried the cheesy bacon fries for 7.00 which were tasty but I wish they gave a fork with them..messy. Very clean stadium. All seats are stadium seats with cup holders. Went here for a Boomer's game for a friend's birthday and we had the best time! I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the "All you can" eat and drink package. For only $53 you get great close seats (we were second row), and literally anything and everything was included (drink and food wise). What Wintrust Field has done for families looking to have a safe Xmas adventure is phenomenal. We took both our grandsons to see the Christmas Light Show and it was absolutely amazing. We opted to get a fast pass so we were immediately let in. When checking your ticket they tell you what radio station to tune into and the lights are synchronized to the music. Magical, beautiful, fun, SAFE - it actually got this Grinch, (I'm that person who really doesn't like Christmas) into a pseudo Christmas mood. That, in and of itself is phenomenal. Over the weekend we enjoyed two Boomers games. Friday night we rented suite 316. We had 35 of our closest friends for a great game. The theme was Star Wars. Perfect for our group. This was our ninth or tenth year renting a suite. Always great. We had a server who brought our drinks and had separate tabs. We purchased the endless popcorn option for the suite. Awesome choice, who does not like popcorn? We chose to have guests choose their own food at the vendors and all were extremely happy. Sunday we enjoyed the matinee game at 1 pm in the Jim Beam club. The bar tender was attentive and there is a special menu for this inside venue. The view is over home plate. We had the barrel tots, wings and mozzarella sticks. The serving was abundant! Too much for two people. We have enjoyed the Boomers over the years and their experience never disappoints! Take me out to the ballgame! read more

Went to Star Wars night at Wintrust Field with my family to see the Schaumburg Boomers play. This was our first experience here and I have to say this field is really nice. We sat just past the Boomers dugout just past first base and the seats were great. The Boomers came from behind to win too! The atmosphere was fun and everyone from the Wintrust Field staff, the fans and the players were so friendly. It was my son's first baseball game and he had a blast. After the game, the players stayed around to chat with the fans and sign autographs. My son was so excited! This place is great to go see a game. I have to say, they do everything right at Wintrust Field. They made some new Schaumburg Boomers fans very happy. Oh yeah, every Friday is fireworks after the game and they are really well done. It was a great experience all around and we'll be back for the marshmallow fight August 11th. Hope those reading this review will join us to cheer on the Boomers. read more

I didn't realize this place no longer hosts the Schaumburg Flyers, but the Schaumburg Boomers. A brief Wikipedia lesson taught me that the Flyers were delinquent on their rent, so they had to go. In any rate, this review is not about the baseball team, but about the venue. If you're looking for a good ol' time at the ballpark, minus the hassle and inconvenience of traffic, $30 parking, $10 cans of beer, or hoards of drunk fans, this place is for you! Free parking, nice staff, and decent crowds, Schaumburg stadium is a nice place for the family. On the night we came, it was Star Wars night, and the kids had a lot of fun. We got nachos, hotdogs, and popcorn and didn't spend more than $20! $20 gives ya a beer, and maybe a water at Wrigley... no thank you. The field itself was great. Well-kept and nicely manicured, the field was really nice. We got seats right behind home plate and the view was great. Afterwards, we enjoyed the fireworks show and after every home game, you have the opportunity to run the bases. We opted out of that, as the line was rather long, but I heard it goes pretty quickly. Definitely check out this place if you're looking to be outdoors and have a craving to just be at the ballpark. read more

This summer, I went to my first Boomers game. A baseball fan, I've been to several MLB and minor league games, and I have to say... this team and ballpark are the TOPS! My initial tickets were complimentary due to bingo winnings, but I have purchased more since then. Why? The stadium has free and close parking. The box office staff and entry ushers are unbelievably nice, efficient, and welcoming. The bathrooms are super clean, the concession stands efficient, the beverage choices provide a good variety of local beers, and wines and mixed drinks... For kids, the outfield area has inflatable slides, pitcher's area, and "Coop" the Boomer (Illinois prairie chicken). Fireworks on weekends, theme games, give-aways, and goofy games between innings add to the fun. If this wasn't enough, the Boomers partner with charitable groups, too! I bid on players' jerseys for pediatric cancer and American Cancer Society promotions, with my winning bids ending up with signed jerseys and meet the players post-game. Did I mention, the Boomers are also a decent Frontier League team?? GO!!! read more

We visited Wintrust Field last week not for baseball but for a duo of Billy Strings concerts. I have been to several minor league parks before, and this one reminded me of the one in Camden, NJ, where the Riversharks play. It's a small but perfectly family friendly venue, with nice seating and generously spaced rows (lots of dancing room!). The concessions weren't fancy but were adequate (though don't expect the variety you see in most MLB parks). The facilities were well-maintained and the staff was pretty friendly. Overall we were very happy that the security folks seemed to strike the balance between doing their job and keeping people safe and being too overbearing. I even caught one of the security guys digging the music a few times. The one thing that totally mystified me was the bag check upon entrance. I go to a ton of live events and I've never had anyone actually open my wallet and look through it or ask me to open my lipgloss so they could see inside. But both of those things happened this time around. But there were no metal detectors or pat-downs so it seemed really oddly intense. Parking was right across the street and easy peasy. We had a really good time and would absolutely return to Wintrust Field for another concert or a ballgame if afforded the opportunity! read more

I love the stadium...Schaumburg is nostalgic for me...baseball is fun (?)...the food and drinks are plentiful with quite a variety. The Salvo family is trying to put out a good product. I wish the people of Schaumburg and surrounding suburbs would try them out and get more fans in the stands. The in game entertainment is good. The promotions are unique. The interns work hard to make it entertaining. Whoever is in the Coop costume is awesome and full of energy. The fireworks are quality. The seats are comfortable. The list could go on of all the fun things they offer, and it's really still affordable. More affordable than attending a Cougars game 35 minutes away. I'll be back, I hope more will join me. I honestly had a lot more fun here than I thought I would! I received vouchers for free tickets during opening weekend and ended up here with my husband and some friends on opening night. Parking is also free, which is a huge plus!!! We arrived, got our tickets, and ended up sitting a few rows behind home plate -- a great spot to sit, in my opinion. Of course, the first thing we did after finding our seats was go off in search of food and drinks! Our wallets were unhappy. Beer is pretty expensive (only $2 less than the beers at Wrigley Field) and their $2 drafts were actually tiny glasses of beer -- what a ripoff. The food is also expensive; I bought a slice of pizza for $5 and it wasn't even the full-sized slice as the box leads you to believe! Boo! Next time I come here, I'm bringing my own food. The food prices were the only thing about this place that I didn't like; everything else was fun! They have silly races and games between every inning and do a good job at getting the crowd to participate in singing and dancing. The teams in this league aren't too bad either. We were cheering them on just as much as we would at a Cubs game. It's the perfect place for some local light, 'clean' fun with friends and families and a great, lower-cost alternative to major league games. This is the second summer in a row that I've chaperoned a large group; taking advantage of the awesome suite packages that are available. We had a great time last year and this year, but I have to give 3/5 stars for the overall cleanliness and lack of audio or remote control for the TV in the suite. I manually turned on the TV and flipped through the channels to get the game on the screen for my guests who wanted to stay indoors. I'm guessing someone previously hauled off with the remote control because it was nowhere to be found. Got the TV set to the right channel, but there was no sound. Ugh! Apparently this was an issue in all of the suites due to some new wiring. Our suite 'attendant' maybe came into the room two times. I don't know what her name was. She came in to say she'd refill the food if necessary, but if we drank all of the water and soda it would cost extra to refill. Sheesh. One of my guests wanted an afternoon coffee and the attendant said she could sell us a carafe for $12. She mentioned that the concession stands sold coffee. I ran downstairs to get my guest a cup, but no one was selling any. I realize coffee isn't going to be a big seller on an 80 degree afternoon, but don't tell us it's available for purchase when it clearly isn't. Overall I was just very underwhelmed this time around. There appeared to be more people working than actual fans in the stadium. Over staffed in some areas, but understaffed in others---like the suite level. Food was your decent ballpark faire, but that's the menu I chose. Coop, the mascot, came by for a visit and my guests really enjoyed that. I probably wouldn't return here again next year. I'll take my group to Kane County or to a Brewers game at Miller Park. Ample and free parking is a plus. read more

Clean, family friendly stadium. Lots of seats, with lawns for picnics on both sides of the dugouts. Beer and food prices were fair, but the food quality was a tad disappointing. I mean, I'm not looking for 5 star cuisine, but the pretzel we purchased had the consistency and flavor of salted toast. We bought it in the 4th inning, so it's not like it was bottom of 9th or anything. Ball club had a decent amount of promos between the innings, but I've seen better at other clubs. Parking was free and that was a nice surprise. Stand workers, ushers and ticket people were super polite and nice. Not sure if I would make the trek out to the suburbs for another game, but I'm glad we went. read more

Cheap ticket prices and free parking. A nice small baseball stadium that is clean. They keep you entertained between innings. I thought the drink and food prices were reasonable. $6 a beer. $5.50 for a homemade pretzel and $1.25 for tasty cheese sauce. After the game the Jesse White tumblers performed. And then fireworks which were good! Easy to get in and out with parking. I had a fun night. I go every year. A nice relatively inexpensive summer night out. read more

An ok place for a minor league baseball outing. The team here (Schaumburg Boomers) is part of an unaffiliated professional baseball league, that is, they are not part of the Major League farm system. Seats are all close and normally $10. We got a Double Take deal, and had the seats for $5. The spacing between rows seemed a bit tight as I had to walk around a bit to stretch my legs after about 6 innings, but there's not a bad seat as there are only maybe 2000 I would guess. Thursday was Thirsty Thursday, and you can get an ~8 oz Miller Lite for $2. We did not try the food here. An ok place for baseball entertainment, but something is missing for me here as none of these guys will be headed to the Majors, but don't let that little factoid stop you. read more

OK, this is a review of the stadium and not the team or a game experience as there was not a Frontier League game going on when I was there. My nephew was participating in a two day baseball showcase event and for that, the venue was good. But it's been several years since I was last there when it was referred to as Alexian Stadium and the absence of a good sponsor was notable. It's still too new to say the stadium is in disrepair, but it really could use a good cleaning and sprucing up. Restrooms were less than desirable - sloppy and smelly. I was told the area beneath the dugouts were poorly kept as well. Maybe things like this are overlooked on nights when the Boomers play and there's all sorts of activity going on. It would just be nice to see this place in the crisp fresh shape it was once in. read more

I have been to four games here over the last two weekends. Very nice experience. Just like the other reviewers, a nice atmosphere. Nice clean stadium, free parking, decent prices on everything. Everyone working there is super friendly which adds to the experience. I am surprised this place is not packed with people. I am stingy with five star ratings, but they are getting five stars from me. Listen everyone: Make some plans to go there and enjoy a game. Last night, for less than $40, we enjoyed an exciting game of baseball, snacked on ice cream treats, met the Boomers mascot, Coop, caught a t-shirt launched into the crowd, and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on the field with Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell (yep, you read that right). I mean, how can I NOT give this place five stars?! But really, it's a fabulous stadium to spend a night at the ballpark with friends or family. Parking is easy and free, and there are so many entertaining theme nights. If you catch a game on a Friday or Saturday night, stick around for the fireworks. And if you attend any other day, you can run the bases or get some autographs after the game, too. It's pretty clean for a stadium (although my daughter wasn't a big fan of all the bugs in the family bathroom). Concessions are also pretty varied and they offer some specials, including $1 hotdogs on Tuesdays. I've heard nothing but accolades about the soft pretzels. The crowd seemed pretty lacking last night, so get on out there and support those Boomers! read more

Very nice stadium! I came here for a work function, so we had a whole little section in the outfield(?) to ourselves, with water/pop and food being provided. We had a GREAT time! it was a really nice venue. Beautiful green field. The seats were packed with a lot of kids (daycare field trips it looked like). The DJ was great, did things like sang YMCA, so the kids and everyone was singing and dancing. Cute. Parking was easy, and a short walk to get into stadium. I'd recommend coming here for a nice ball-game! read more

Jason Isbell concert. Love the guy but this baseball stadium kinda sucked. Parking will cost $20 for a bunch of safety vested bafoons screaming at you to get your car parked! Welcome to the show. Consider the adjacent Metra train lot for $2. They park a pickup truck in the middle of the street to discourage it but, drive around that bafoon to get to the lot. Inside the park my $75 seat was broken. Fortunately there were lots of empty seats. The sound was quite bad. Muffled unintelligible words. Worst was looking through the net all night. Guess they couldn't be troubled to take it down. The fucking thing stretches from side to side. There's no seat that don't look through it. I wouldn't go here for a concert again. Oh yeah, there's a consistent stream of small airplanes landing right over the rooftop all night. read more

You know if my glamorous 13 year daughter asks to go here it's got to be pretty fun. When traveling with a total of 8 kids and three families give me a Boomers game ANYDAY over the Cubs. Sorry Cubs...I liked going when I was 16 and had all day to blow taking buses and trains and capping it off by stalking Ryne Sandberg for his autograph. For $10 you get a seat....free stuff (sometimes ice cream...swag...beer samples, you name it) and on Fridays, FIREWORKS and to run the bases. Kids don't know the difference between Rizzo and some 22 year old A-ball player so it's all good. I took my Cub Scout den there on "scout day" and they had a blast. read more
