Lodge like atmosphere with all the decor you would expect in the mid west. Very clean and roomy. We had a large group and they were able to accommodate us with only one server. She was great, super nice and did a good job considering she handled the entire restaurant as the only server. The food was solid, nothing to brag about but also nothing to complain about either. My husband and I decided to give this place a try as it was an easy on/off the interstate on a road trip through Wisconsin. The atmosphere is rustic cabin feel which is a vibe we really like. The bartender greeted us immediately upon entry and a bubbly young waitress took over from there. We had a couple cocktails that were delicious. My husband ordered the Philly sandwich which he said the meat was cooked perfectly. I had the BBQ pork nachos which were also good however i prefer a different type of tortilla chip. Definitely will stop in again next time we travel up 94. Give this place a try if you are in the area. I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. I was blown away by the excellent food and service. Also, very clean and great atmosphere. I had the fish tacos for lunch. Also tried the Philly cheesesteak and the turkey avocado sandwich. Was all very good. Also had the salad bar with the stuffed pepper soup and was amazed. The salad bar was very fresh and clean. It is hard to find salad dressing that is somewhat healthy in this area. Most restaurants have your typical heavy dressings, and I was happy to see that they had a balsamic vinaigrette. We discovered The Pines while traveling across Wisconsin. The staff was welcoming as we entered and were seated for lunch. They have a nice, fresh, well stocked salad bar with a magnificent Italian sausage and spinach soup that is clearly made in house. Our server, Linda, was excellent and recommended the fish tacos and Philly sandwich. Both were great. The piney interior is cool and the patio is nice and large. We'll make this a regular stop on future trips. read more

I just discovered this gem of a place today. Absolutely top notch bar and grill in a rather unexpected location off of route 94. When you walk in and are greeted by the friendly staff you have the feeling that you've found something special. The place has a comfy rustic look and is immaculate. Seriously, The Pines is one of the cleanest bar and grills I've ever been in. No oily feeling tables and the bathrooms weren't just clean, they were mom's house at Christmas clean. My server, Holly, walked me through the menu and the tap list. Holly was exceptionally nice and we chatted for a bit. She told me a little of the place's history and all the work that the owners have put into it. I think a lot of love and attention has gone into The Pines and it shows. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and substituted the side of fries with a trip to the soup and salad bar. Everything was delicious. The owner smokes the prime rib and it tasted like the pork in the pork and veggie soup had also been smoked. The soup and salad bar was filled with the freshest veggies and fixings you could imagine. It was also perfectly clean, of course. I've added it to my favorites in my GPS so I will be reminded to stop when traveling through the area. read more

This place is great! I have spent my life in Wisconsin going to great supper clubs. The service is spectacular. Our server, Holly, was exceptionally professional. She could not have been better. My son and I both had the Smoked Prime Rib. It was huge and filled with flavor. Both pieces between 1 1/2 to 2" thick. Cooked to perfection! Before we left, the owner stopped by and with a little prodding, I found out who she was. I couldn't say enough about her food and the service Holly provided us. We came here with a group of six. We had eaten at this restaurant before when it was called The Bog. We liked the environment and the food when we had been here previously. When we walked in, we saw a pool table sitting in the middle of the restaurant and a kids' play area (complete with building blocks that crash to the floor when the kids are playing in this area and not running around screaming). Food was ok and service was good. The owners are obviously catering to families from Three Bears Lodge and that is fine. We will never come back again because we do not enjoy this type of an environment for dinner. We are sure the owners will not care if we do not return. read more

To sum up our visit, "Holy Moley!" My spouse and I both are fantastic cooks and we were both impressed by the food here. The turkey Avocado club contained fresh real turkey and the garlic aioli is spot on. The smoked ribs were fall off the bone amazing. The giant pretzel was unparalleled. It is vary rare that the food and the service are top notch, but we found both here. I wish we lived here so we could eat here every week! read more

Everything was amazing! The food, the people and the management was impeccable. I've never been to a bar and grill that has treated their guest so nicely. We went in original to have a drink and waste some time. The couple next to use had pizza, which looked and smelled so good that we had to order some. We even ordered some pizza for supper. Then we decided the next day to order all the burgers to try and some nachos. Definitely was not a disappointment, will be back! read more
