The food was good, but there were a couple things I would change. Namely the small portion of curds, the seasoning and the restroom situation. There are no indoor bathrooms. Good food at good prices with excellent service. We have never been to this area before and have found some hidden gems. Get there early (5:30 - 6:00pm) if you're wanting to get some walleye on Friday nights. The fried fish is breaded with ritz crackers added to the breading. That's what the waitress told me. It had a unique flavor and the breading was similar to Long John Silver's restaurant. Their lunch specials are something to go there for. The local beer, especially the WI Amber Lager, was delicious and the 34 ounce beer was well priced. read more

I ate here on back to back nights (Friday and Saturday) and the service was really great. The staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered burgers both nights and both were wonderfully cooked. My brother ordered the Prime Rib and it looked great (he said it was too!). The 34 oz. tappers are a steal too! I think the thing I liked best was that this was clearly a local favorite, but as someone hunting in the area, I was felt at home and very welcomed. Restaurant is very plan lacks in decor. Everything is very basic, there is a jukebox but you most pay to hear music, two songs for a dollar. The menu is ok there are enough items for everyone, salad bar but limited items in it. I got the 12 inch steak which was amazing but had a lot of fat on it. The main issue I had with the restaurant was the amount of flies in the restaurant. There were landing on our food and flying around. The restaurant did not look like they were doing anything to prevent the flies. read more

Small town hot spot. Locals said this was the spot for fish fry on Friday and Prime Rib on Saturday. They aren't wrong. Food is great. Soup and salad bar also great. Drink selection, beers, cranberry mixes, or some behemoth Bloody Mary on Sundays. If I lived in this area I would be here every night of the week. read more

We were in the area for the Cranberry Festival in Warrens and looked to Yelp for a place to eat. Overtime Inn sounded good so we gave it a try. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is warm and friendly and the food is great. The salad bar is small, but fresh. I tried the Spicy Cheese Soup -- OMG, GREAT flavor, but "Spicy" is right! It was too hot for me, but, if you like spicy hot, you must try this soup! We both had the special which was fried or boiled shrimp and we both chose boiled. It is served with melted butter and it was very tasty -- not overcooked which is easy to do when boiling shrimp. They have a good selection of beer, which goes perfect with that spicy soup! They weren't crowded when we got there about 5-ish, but were full when we left. Stopped here for Sunday brunch while in town visiting my step daughter. I'm not sure what is happening here, but it appears that the servers really aren't servers, rather friends or regulars who have come to "help", but the service is downright awful. Friendly enough, don't get me wrong, but my kids have already eaten their entire meals and I'm still sitting here waiting on au jus for my French dip (which has been asked for). The food is good (not great, but solidly good), and I think in another circumstance I would likely love this place. It has been over an hour since we have been here and the end is not yet in sight. I suspect when my 2 year old grandson starts screaming then they may pay more attention... Whatever their staffing issue is I hope they get it resolved soon. read more

Everything was great!! Outstanding service along with a really great tasting meal. I ordered the Saturday night Prime Rib dinner Queen size for $18.99. The meal came with soup and salad bar with homemade dinner rolls. They had lasagna soup or bean soup and both were excellent. The salad bar was small but adequate with homemade potato salad, spaghetti salad, cottage cheese, beets and other fresh offerings. I had the baked potato and creamy horseradish sauce on the side with my prime rib and it was the best I have ever had. My spouse had the pork chops with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy which he said tasted excellent. This was a great find and if your passing by Tomah take a ride out here and try to come on a night when they have one of their other specials like the shrimp boil. They also make homemade pizza and the burgers looked great that we saw pass by. read more

The clerk at the Hampton Inn told us about this place. It was a good find. Very friendly people. Good food with a great selection. I came from out of town Ordered their 12 inch pizza and what was brought to me was a frozen 4 inch pizza....it tasted nasty and when i asked waitress if their pizza was frozen she toldmw they made it fresh. The pizza was a kids frozen that tasted horrible and they still charged me $8 for. This left a bad taste in my mouth and i will never go back there again. They did not discount it or give it to me free it was a waste of my time and money read more

No frills pretty much sums it up, just great food. It's in the middle of nowhere. We recently moved from the Chicago area and pretty much said goodbye to great restaurants, so when we saw this on yelp it was worth a try. Place was packed, all seats taken on a Friday night. The seating is nothing to write home about, thus 4 not 5 stars, pretty much your typical roadside diner decor. However the place has its own kind of pub style class. Saw Smitty's ad in a visitor's guide at our hotel in Tomah. Saturday evening we decided to drive the short distance from the hotel to have dinner. We wanted to do a local restaurant vs one of the chains right off of the freeway. The place was really busy but looked like a great place and seemed very friendly. We were standing by the hostess area and the girl came over to seat us. She directed us to a booth, gave us menus and said someone would be with us soon. We were looking over the menus when some lady comes over and says "You can't sit here. Why are you sitting here?" I explained to her that the hostess had seated us when she said she was the hostess. I told her that it was the girl with the braid, who turned out to be a waitress. We got up and walked out! I have never, ever been treated that rudely in a restaurant! Ever! If one of your staff makes a seating error, you don't yell at the customer for it. It wasn't like there were any other people waiting to be seated at that time. Sorry way to present your restaurant to someone from out of state that came to your establishment based on a visitor guide ad. Ended up at one of the chains after all. read more

My husband and I often come to Smitty's on Friday nights for the fish fry, and I always get the broiled cod. So often broiled fish is rather tasteless, but Smitty's is consitently the best-seasoned fish I think I have ever had. read more

Smitty's seems to be a local bar with not typical bar food. There is the soup and salad bar, perhaps not big but very good. Saturday night's special is prime rib, no it's GREAT prime rib. We've only been to Smitty's on Saturdays and we always get the prime rib. read more
