The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

The location is very accessible by…read moretransit, but if you are driving, then you may need to scout out a parking spot in the sidestreets. It has a cosy, comfortably casual ambience. On a Sunday evening, it was quiet and intimate. Our server, whose name I did not learn, was excellent: kind and willing to make recommendations. Union Social has an excellent menu, with lots of diversity to cater to all palates, but not so many items as to be overwhelming for either staff or customers. We started off with cocktails, and my son's Citrus Mule -served according to tradition, in a copper mug - was so tasty. I enjoyed my Smoky Apple Old Fashion so much. It is worth coming here for a cocktail alone. Now, on to the mains (we skipped the appetizers, but the shrimp tacos did look tempting). I explained to our server that I was torn between the Smokehouse Beef Burger (which I regretted not ordering on a previous visit) and the Spaghetti Positano, a seafood pasta finished with lemon-herb breadcrumbs. She enthusiastically and energetically recommended the pasta (I love it when they actually give a recommendation, as opposed to, "Well, it depends what you want"). I was not disappointed! The seafood spaghetti was terrific! Surprisingly, the breadcrumbs more than compensated for a sprinkling of parmesan. I savoured the leftovers the next day, and I'm still thinking about it. The other diners, who ordered Cobb Salad, the Chicken Sandwich Special, and the Tuna Bow, were similarly satisfied. Apparently, the Steak Frites and the Fish and Chips were outstanding, as was my Pasta Positano (especially for garlic lovers!). A few other diners ordered dessert: they each had creme brulee, smoking hot from being freshly torched. The surface featured that perfectly glossy, lightly burned sugar, which always reminds me of a caramel-colored skating rink. The dessert was, according to my daughter, who is a connoisseur of creme brulee, was perfectly done. To finish off, my son (don't worry, he's an adult) had an espresso martini. I had a sip, and I can totally vouch for it being so divine! We had a very satisfying meal, and I'd only wish that I knew my server's name so that I could acknowledge how excellent she was. I'll be back. I keep planning for the burger, but right now, I could sure go for another helping of Spaghetti Positano!

The staff were super friendly and built a really good rapport with everyone. Honestly, I'd go back just for how great the team was. Now for the drinks and food: I ordered an espresso martini. This was my first one ever, and not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed (I've had way better ones since). For the food, the poutine was fire and the tacos were really good, too. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes, but let's be real... it wasn't the best meal ever. The food was definitely mid, but still solid. Overall: Amazing service and great atmosphere make this place worth checking out.

It is an easy place to pop in for dinner without too much planning, especially during the week when you can usually get seated without a wait. Our consistent go-to's: braised meatballs, mozzarella sticks, public Caesar (my fave in the city better than Jacob's imo) ciao bella rigatoni, and the steak frites. Their burger and tiramisu is good too. The first time I ordered their ciao Bella rigatoni for some reason it wasn't good, but after that I keep ordering it cuz it HITS. We've tried their salami pizza and the chicken parm I thought was mid. Their drinks are amazing though, my fave is the tiramisu martini but I also love their other cocktails. The Milan melon is delish, so is the rosemary limon spritz and the bellini is refreshing. The cocktail list in general is elite for a king west restaurant. On weekends it is much busier and often fully booked, so reservations are a must, but if you come right when they open for lunch at 12 pm, you can walk in, but it fills up quickly. Service has always been super friendly and consistent, which is part of why we keep coming back. Overall, it is a dependable spot with good food, good drinks, and a lively atmosphere.

This was an absolutely pathetic pizza. VERY sparse on the toppings and was composed of pizza dough & tomato sauce. All for just $23.00 as a happy hour special. The service was team service. We had several different servers. All were fast & pleasant. I rated this a 3 star but for me, with the stinginess of the food...it's not a do over.

We met in the ample parking lot although the entrance might be easy to miss coming south on Dufferin since it's a bit of a weird angle. I was glad when we left to see that you can come and go on a side street that has a traffic light intersection cuz Dufferin is busy and it's a pain to get out on a left turn. I waited about a minute for a host to come to the entrance and assist with seating. I was struck by the absolute lack of seafood smell coming in. The restaurant is very large and has many types of seating options from smaller tables to larger tables to booths and more than one room. Very clean and quiet. I paused to check out the live samples in their aquarium. The bathrooms have a gender neutral option in addition to the traditional ones. I was led to one of the tables not too far from the kitchen and asked if we could have one of the window booths. No problem. I did have to ask for water upon being seated and none was offered to my sister for most of the meal. We finally managed to get her a glass after waving down our server. Other than that no problems with our orders. I opted for the build your own combo with bay scallops, fettuccine Alfredo and green beans. I was so glad to see that the green beans were bright and crisp, not overcooked and soggy. The scallops arrived in a plentiful dish of garlic butter, and the pasta was a good sized portion. Also a nice surprise was the improved cheddar biscuits. They arrived hot, soft and full of savory flavour. My sister was equally happy with her entree of salmon and fries. It isn't cheap, but it's nice enough value. We also split a chocolate wave dessert which was lovely. It comes with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, and the chocolate sauce was nice and warm. Yum! We had our coffee cups refilled to ensure full enjoyment with the dessert. The restaurant also has little tabletop computers which you can use to view the menu, play games, and perhaps best of all, pay your bill at your leisure without having to wait on your server coming back to bring the machine to you. All in all a great revisit to this chain. Traffic notwithstanding a great location. Large, clean and comfortable. Definitely would come back.
