    Homemade Potato Pancakes

The Homemade Potato Pancakes were a delicious surprise. The pancakes turned out to be crispy, tasty and crunchy on the outside, and moist on the inside. The bacon was nice, and the cheddar cheese with sour cream was a great way to top it all off. Definitely will be back soon.

I was staying in one of the hotels close to the airport and was looking for a good Brunch place around the area, thanks to Yelp I found this place. Don't let the outside look fool you, inside the decor is super cool, giving me 60's vibes, cute menus with Elvis and Marilyn, cosy booth areas. The staff were super nice and friendly, top notch service that definitely exceeded my expectations. Their menu is surprisingly great, they had my favorite Benedicts, as well as, steak and eggs and many more delicious choices. Very affordable too, if you compare it to Montreal prices. Overall, I really enjoyed this brunch and would definitely visit again if I were in the area.

Very nice little spot. We were staying close to the airport, wanted a good breakfast and found this little place. Clean, bright and the staff were very friendly. The food was very, very good; served fast and hot. Great find.

Throwback interior Great old style booths, Monroe/Dean/Presley theme The area is dismal, fortunately the service and food very good! Liked the 401 club and regular club sandos

Route 401 Diner is located near Kipling and the 401 on the north service road also known as Ronson Dr. With a name like Route 401 it makes me think it's out of the city far away in some place like Port Hope or Gananoque but nope it's right smack dab in an industrial area on the north side of the 401 in Etobicoke just west of Kipling. The location is a bit of a thing because maybe you can see it from the highway but if you did you'd already be past it. The place has seating for maybe 40. The booths along the front don't seem big enough for 4 as much as they seem more suited for 2 (one on each side). The décor would have you believe that the place is from the 50's and has a very retro feel. There's what I can only gather is a mini Coca Cola museum behind the counter with photos that include Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe and such. So that being said there's definitely a theme going on here of the old 50's type diner. The menu has a decent but expected type of menu for breakfast. While my wife ended up going with French toast I went with the more traditional "Traditional Breakfast" which included 3 eggs, choice of bacon, ham or sausage along with home fries and toast. I ended up getting bacon with a side of sausage added on. Coffee is included before 11am. Basically the traditional breakfast is barely 9 bucks before I added sausage. The same went for the French toast without meat. The breakfast is a nice sit down staple of a place in a place I wouldn't expect there to be a restaurant. For me bacon and eggs never really gets old for a weekend breakfast and while the place had plenty of seating when we first arrived before 10 it started to get much busier afterwards. This place serves a good sit down hot breakfast and it's not too far and very reasonably priced as well.

We stayed near the airport and wanted to grab a quick breakfast. Not only is this just a few minutes from YYZ, but perfect spot to jump on the highway too. Cute interior with a ton of retro photos and decor. I got the house 2 egg breakfast with toast and homefries. This runs you around $6 bucks. Friendly waitress and host as well! I've had a hard time finding grilled potatoes for homefries in Canada, most i come across are the fried cubes but they were well seasoned.

Our server Natasha greeted us promptly and was super friendly and kind. She was quick to get our drinks and took our food order right away. Food did not take too long to come out. I have only ever ordered a prime rib here and I wasn't about to switch up on them now. I was SO happy they got rid of those wasabi mashed potatoes cuz what? Those were gross. They do a regular Yukon gold mash now and it's perfect. My prime rib was medium, just as I asked for and was juicy and tender. Super comparable to the Keg, but the Keg prime rib issss still my favourite lol. I appreciate the assortment of veggies the meal came with as well. it was so much food, I had to take half home. My by got the burger, which I took a bite out of and it was great! I like how it also comes dressed with an onion ring. My bf also really liked the fries. Overall, it was a great visit back after all these years. The dining room is really pretty, esp with the high ceilings and dimmed lights. Might have to keep Chop in the rotation now! Thanks again to Natasha for the wonderful and friendly service.

I can not remember our waitress name she was very friendly and kind. The service over all was really good. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back.

The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037
