I complained about a the waiter said the problem was they were really old tables and even if they wiped them again, it wouldn't make a difference. Great family friendly atmosphere. Great service. big tables, plenty of seating The garlic cheese bread brought to the table was delicious. Perfect balance of savory, creamy and salty. My family had the manicotti, the Philly sandwich and the lasagna. the Philly was disappointing the hoagie bread was to big, airy and the filling the bread ratio was way off due to this. They should use the garlic/cheese knots for the Philly sandwich. The fries were tasty but lacked crisp and were lukewarm. The lasagna tasted homey, had ALOT of cheese and was a bit soupy for my liking. The quality/experience of the food prepared really reminded me of going to dinner at someone's house who isn't Italian. I took my order to go, but staff at counter was helpful. Looking over place it looks small out side but really opens up inside. Now the main event the food. I order the calzone and cheese biscuits. The dough is phenomenal soft and the outside is still crunchy. The calzone was massive way way bigger then expected. This place is definitely a must try. read more

A local institution with incredible complimentary garlic knots, great pizza, and SHOCKINGLY good service. I've been jumping around fine dining and Michelin starred establishments as well as casual and family friendly restaurants this year and I believe that ALEX at the pizza cookery really outperforms any server I've experienced in recent memory. He anticipated every need and overdelivered at every turn. Give that man a raise. The food was as good as I remember it from 10 or 15 years ago, and the servings are monstrous. A large salad and pizza will serve 5 or 6 people, especially when considering how easy it is to scarf down 2 or 3 garlic cheese rolls before food arrives. Finally we made it back to our old favorite Italian style eatery. The wife and I both had an urge for some antipasto, lasagna, and the amazing garlic cheese rolls this place serves up. I guess like many places in California, things change and even the best places fall victim to supply side issues. Trying to be gentle, their lasagna, though still fairly tasty, went from magic to something approaching tragic, it was not what we'd come to love over the many years we've been eating here. Have been going to the Pizza Cookery for many years. It has been my go-to place for their pizza and antipasta salad. I'm giving 3 stars because the last 2 times I ordered pizza delilvered, I was disappointed. Their pizza crust was always a standout but these last 2 were not. I order the "regular" crust but would swear I got the thin crust. It was so thin you could hardly pick up a piece out of the box and frit was quite soggy. As always, the cheese and toppings were great as was the antipasta salad, but the pizza was a huge disappointment. If the thin crust one is thinner that what i got, it must be thin as tissue paper. The pizza is ok. Nothing extraordinary. If I'm not mistaken, there has been an owner change. The taste of pizza was much better before. The dough is average and the toppings were somewhat dried with too much onion. Next time I'll order "easy on the onion." My son and I recently went here for our Friday evening "Pizza Night" and we both loved it. We ordered a salad and pizza. The Italian Salad was fresh and delicious and it went so well with the pizza. We ordered a small to share and it was more than enough. The pizza was amazing as well. We just got extra cheese and pepperoni - simple but delicious. This place rocks. We had a party of 7 and they accommodated us right away. Alex was our waiter and he was attentive and took great care of us. The other service staff would also check on us so we felt like we had first class service our entire dinner. The food was out of this world. The bread rolls are soft and right out of the oven. It was a delicious way to start our dinner. We ordered two large pizzas - pepperoni and vegetarian. The pizza is perfectly cooked and even the crust is perfect. On my way out I asked a lady how her salad was because it looked delicious. She said it was the antipasto salad and she went there every week because it is her favorite.
