I think it's interesting that I went to JFK High but never had the chance to give this place a shot. I decided to go for Saturday lunch. The place was empty. I ordered the "famous" lasagna since it was my favorite Italian food growing up. Disappointment is the nicest word I can describe it. The sauce tasted from a can. It was overly topped with cheese. And the middle was cold. I told the server and he was apologetic. He told the chef to reheat it and gave me a free lasagna to go. The rating would have been lower if he didn't go out of his way. Looking at the other pastas on the menu, it seems I chose poorly. Maybe I'll give this place another chance one day. Just remember to avoid their lasagna next time. read more

Service was great. However, it's just not the same Casa De Pizza from before. We ordered our usual, regular (used to be small) pepperoni with jalapeños and double dough (thick crust). Under the old ownership, the pizza had thick, crispy crust with overly melted cheese. Ordered alongside a side of marinara, that we would dip our crust in. It was the best pizza I've ever had. Now, it's no different than many of the local spots. The house salad is also lacking in ingredients. It used to be topped to the brim with cheese, but now it's like ordering a salad from a sandwich spot. The food was fine but not memorable, which is what the old Casa De Pizza used to be. Casa after the change in ownership is completely transformed & has become my family's all time favorite spot. The staff truly goes above & beyond here. Casa De Pizza has delicious food. The food is always prepared fresh, great taste, and good quality. The prices are reasonable, and they have great pizza meal deals. The vibe here is laid-back and unpretentious. On this visit, I ordered one of their meal deals, which came with a pizza, wings and fries. We also ordered house bread. The bread was warm and had the perfect crispy crunch. The pizza was wonderful as usual. The fries were perfectly crispy . The wings paired well with our meal. The interior dining room was clean, the service was fast, and the staff were super friendly. The dining room isn't too large, but perfect for a casual bite. Casa de Pizza absolutely delivers. The pizza is legit, fresh ingredients, nothing tastes canned or pre made. You can tell care goes into what they're serving. The chicken parmesan was a standout. Perfectly al dente spaghetti and the chicken was seasoned and cooked just right. So tender and juicy that no knife was needed. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and well executed. We walked in for an executive lunch meeting. We were the only 2 people in the entire restaurant. At lunch time on a Thursday no one else in sight? I get it now why the place was a ghost town. The TV was BLASTING! Absolutely blasting. It was unreasonably loud. Especially when we were the only people there. I asked the manager (owner) if he can please lower the volume? To wit he said "Probably not." I asked why not? "It's the World Cup. What if soneone comes in and wants to hear if? Am I supposed to say tough?" I said, "If you can't or won't lower it, we'll have to leave and go somewhere else. " "I'll see what I can do." There was a little insignjficant babtor that followed. He lowered it a little. My colleague and I discussed the rude and indignant way the owner addressed us. As we whispered in the booth the owner turned up the volume e even louder than before. We stood up and left. As we did, he muttered something unfriendly to us as we exited. So, 7 weeks before this happened my cousin from NYC visited. I told him to pick up 2 large pizzas, garlic bread, and pene narinara at Casa De Pizza on his way over. The order was placed 2 hours before he arrived. Not only was it not ready... IT WASN'T EVER WRITTEN DOWN OR PLACED. This simple order TOOK 45 MINUTES! AND WHEN IT ARRIVED THE PIZZA WAS INEATIBLE!! Cold, overcooked and dried out. Tasteless. Oh, and the garlic rolls we ordered and paid for were left out of the order. I phoned the restaurant the following day and spoke with this same owner. Rather than apologize for the disappointing experience he justified and made excuses almost sone how attempting to blame me? He promised the order will be replaced next time I come in or order to go but not surprisingly there's no record or memory of the conversation. Unless and until the owner apologizes and makes it right all the way around, Casa De Pizza is Casa History. I wonder how long an empty restaurant can stay in business without any customers? Tonight's pizza special was pizza with hairy mushroom or hairy pizza with mushroom. I am old school and do not like hair on my pizza. So here I am, leaving 2 stars for the couple of delicious bites that I took before the aforementioned hair revealed itself to me. I really wanted to love this place, as currently, I am in a constant state of pizzalessness as all my favorite places are either declining or have already declined. My pizza was delivered by grubhub, so I can't speak to the quality of service, but the quality of sanitation and cleanliness is a different matter of course, and here we are. This place has been down the street from my parent's place for several years. It was good and I have no complaints. I liked that the zucchini sticks were not overly thick and they were tasty and nice and crispy. We also shared Jen's Garlic Pesto Bread which was really yummy and even tastier when we asked for a side of balsamic vinegar. YUM! Also the garlic cheese bread was just a yummy. I ordered the shrimp scampi that was good. I tried a bite of the lasagna. It was good as well. I also tried a small slice of Mike's Pizza. It was good. Would I come back here? Sure. My son's school was having a fundraiser from here so we ordered delivery. Ordering from their website was easy. We got the FRIED BRUSSEL SPROUTS, ROASTED ARTICHOKE + BURRATA, and BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI. For a takeout dinner, my hubby and I were thoroughly impressed! Food was delicious and flavorful! It looked and tasted very gourmet. Not a lot of Italian eateries have the butternut squash ravioli dish and theirs had generous portions, good amount of filling, and the brown butter sauce swimming with the sage, cranberries and walnuts was "chef's kiss"! Deliveryman was courteous and responsive. And they honored my request of "no utensils please" to decrease unnecessary waste. I'll definitely order again! This is a historic landmark in the San Fernando Valley. I have been going here for years and have been a huge fan of their story, and of course their food. Recently under new ownership, the quality of the food has not skipped a beat. Ordered some food on New Year's Day and was so happy with everything. This is my son's favorite pizza joint. He loves the Tom Brown pizza. So I had to show them some love. I haven't tried the Tom Brown but did order a large cheese. The Tom Brown will be my next pizza I try. My family did enjoy the cheese pizza. The pizza is on the thinner side. I usually go for thick crust and prefer Chicago style or deep dish. I ordered ahead, like two hours almost , but they were ready with my order right on the time. The parking is small but I just parked on the street. Although it is a little on the pricier side, it is worth it to splurge once in a while for great pizza and even better the next day! Found this spot by accident. Parking is minimal and tight. Ordered the small personal Cesars Salad, small Pepperoni pizza and a Coke. My salad was absolutely incredible. I started eating it right away and realized I didn't take a pic. My pizza came out hot, and perfect for two people. The service was Excellent. Didn't get my servers name but the guy was cool and very hospitable. I'd absolutely come back and recommend this spot. They sell pasta dishes that looked so good. read more
