Terrible experience. I went to meet my boyfriend for lunch, we ended up taking the food in instead of carry-out. The white haired guy goes, "if I knew you were eating here I'd put a plate out". I had missed lunch so I stopped at this pizzeria to buy a plain cheese slice. The slices all looked good, different types but I like plain. Plain slice should have a good blend of Italian cheeses, sauce should taste of fresh tomatoes and herbs but not candy sweet! The crust should be crispy to the fold as such to hold it up well. When I got my slice, ! It was well cooked! I was helped immediately soon as walked in and my slice came out nice and hot that the cheese stretched so good!!! Mouthwatering!!! Solid pizzeria with offering up the standard pizza and Italian food. A local spot amongst the many options in the area. It's near the local High School so be aware it can get really crowded during lunch hours when schools in session. Enjoyed the Grandmas and the regular slice. I take a trip from the North Shore of Nassau just for their Avocado Salad (gotta be chopped) topped with buffalo chicken. Their creamy balsamic and Caesar salad dressings are killer! Rigatoni Fiorentina. Chicken roll. Spinach pinwheel. All Glorious. Restaurant quality, huge portions at pizzeria prices. Highly efficient/ proficient phone order-takers, too. Never a mistake. I come here every Sunday with my family to eat. The young waitress who works every Sunday is the best! This morning I witness staff working the oven and handling garbage at the same time. He did not wash his hands. He then proceeded to take extra garbage bags out the bottom of the bin and placed it on the table that mix the pizza dough and make other dishes. I was absolutely disgusted and threw my food out. Driving north had Bigelow's in my GPS, knew it was ten minutes away etc... then saw this cute looking storefront for The Pizza Place... and knew I should check it out. Looked at the Neapolitan/round pizza and thought naa.. needs reheating and looks skimpy.. etc.. but then took a good look at the Sicilian and Grandmas and knew that was their thing. In the car instead of having one and saving one for the person I got if for.. had both! Cancelled my trip to Bigelows... Sicilian pizza is so good here... like you would get in Brooklyn. I am on Long Island at least once a week and I love to try different pizza places for lunch. (Shout out to Gino's in Lawrence and in Long Beach for some delicious pizza!). I stopped here and I usually would get a plain slice but I've had delicious broccoli slices in another places so I tried their broccoli and spinach slice. Truly mediocre, no flavor. My cousin took me here while I was visiting and I easily fell in love with this sweet spot in Hewlett. I didn't even know chicken marsala pizza was a thing. Also baked zitti pizza, whaaaaaat?! The workers and I both knew there was one slice of chicken marsala pizza left on the pan, so they asked me to wait an extra minute to bring out a fresh one. I came here once, and the Pizza here was awful. I thought that it was hard to mess up a simple tomato, mozzarella, basil pie, but I couldn't finish eating it because it was so terrible. The tomatoes were dehydrated and tasted like cardboard, the pizza itself was unseasoned and really lacking in any sort of flavor. The dough didn't taste fresh, and tasted worse than a Costco flatbread. On top of that, the person handling my pizza putting basil on the pizza was also operating the register simultaneously without gloves so it was very unsanitary. "The Pizza Place" was recommended to my brother from one of his work friends. Thank goodness he recommended this place. I met my brother for a late lunch. Parking lot is packed because they share it with a couple of popular stores. "Pizza Place" is on the corner of the shopping center and it is definitely noticeable. Heading inside I was impressed with the modern looking space with bright colors to make it stand out. They played light music in the background, and dining to the song "Soul Man" made the atmosphere very relaxing. They have two beautiful waitress if you choose to dine in or you can head to the counter and order with the friendly staff. The line was long, but worth the wait. Once my brother and I went over our options, we grabbed two slices each. They don't have a lot of specialty slices out but they make food to order. Once we sat down they put silverware and napkins out for us. The food was ready and piping hot. It was time to eat. The bacon, chicken, ranch slice was phenomenal. It had too much bacon and too much cheese. I fell head over heels in love with it. Next was the buffalo slice. Upon asking, the owner was kind enough to bring blue cheese over. This slice was the slice I never knew I was looking for. It was the benchmark of buffalo pizza. I couldn't believe how cheesy, juicy, and spicy it was. They used two types of cheese that worked very well with a crust that stood out on its own. I will definitely recommend this place to all Yelpers and return again. I used to like their pizza but I noticed that recently the quality deteriorated. They put a lot less cheese on the pizza now. However, the most disconcerting fact is that they are not health conscious. The same person who makes and handle the food also handles the money. Heard this place was "the best ever". After of years of people raving I finally tried it. I had the buffalo chicken and a grandma slice. I'm not a huge fan of buffalo chicken so I didn't like it. Too much bleu cheese and the chicken was too spicy. They forgot about my grandma slice so everyone around me was eating and I was waiting for one slice for over 15 minutes.
