Great "Place" downtown! I've been a few times and realized they need more specific food reviews. I've been twice recently because I heard they had a great salad. First time I went for a salad I ended up with the red beans and rice special with sausage. It was fantastic! Salad fail though. Today I had the same idea but ended up with the Philly and zucchini fries. Salad fail but lunch win. Always nice folks and the food has been great each time I've been. read more

Went for Thursday trivia which was fun. Service was attentive. $2 pear ciders were tasty, as was the shrimp appetizer. Chips and queso were good but the salsa was from a jar not fresh. The only true disappointment was the salad topped with a scoop of chicken salad. Neither was fresh (much of the lettuce had brown spots) and the chicken salad tasted "off"....old or canned or something indistinguishably wrong with it. Two bites and I left the rest. read more

Worst experience at an establishment EVER !!!! I arrived and was by myself as it was the first time in a while I could get out and relax with my wife having medical issues . I sat at the bar and the bartender was mad and rudely asked what I wanted . Im always polite with ma'm and thank you even in this situation . The Bartender proceeded to go on with the folks next to me about her problems with her boyfriend and started cursing loudly . As I was getting ready to order , I asked if she could change a TV to a game , I tried to help her locate the game and she turned to me and said " Zip It " !!!! I'm 58 years old and never have I been talked to like that in any public venue . I immediately got my check and left . I will never step foot in this establishment again , and will urge others to stay away . My one opportunity to get away from everything and relax was ruined by one spoiled employee . 2 weeks to the day and we are back again! This time we ordered Zucchini fries. Crunchy, fresh, and savory fries perfect for dipping in ranch. My BF ordered the Tuna BLT again! As expected FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!! I ordered the chicken quesadilla with mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Ya'll.....this thing was juicy and PACKED with mouth-watering flavor. And best of all Shelton was our server. Whatever they are paying this man needs to be DOUBLED!!!! He makes you feel so important and like family. It's taken me awhile to write this because I still find it ridiculously humorous. The old man who I assume is the manager lacks professionalism, and decorum. I have never witnessed such child like behavior from an adult. I was actually embarrassed for him. The drinks were not good and our food tasted of freezer burn. The only redeeming quality of that "Place" was the bartender, she was very sweet and tried to be accommodating, but she can only work with what she has. I definitely applaud her for having the strength to work with him. As for the overgrown man baby, might I suggest a new career path. This one has left you bitter and defeated. read more

I am not sure how this place even comes close to a 5 star rating. The wine brand selection is just a step above what you may get out of a box. I ordered a Tito, soda with a lime and got a Tito with flat soda water. I guess the bar food is edible if you are used to something frozen and dropped in a deep fryer. As far the location and decor , not bad and the staff is friendly, which is only reason I gave it 2 stars. The Place is a hidden gem in downtown Panama City. The food is consistently good and servers are helpful and friendly. Daily specials are different from regular menu items which gives the diner options! Great selection of beers both on tap and bottles/cans. Our most recent meal consisted of the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries and the special which was country fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. We are never disappointed! read more

Stopped in on a Friday night for apps with a drink and the place was packed! The server was very friendly and although a little slow due to being so busy. The pickle chips are the best we've had here in PC and they have a great bar selection. They had approx 8 large tv in the back area so we will be back for game time viewing when needed! I'm so glad we decided to grab a bite from this local eatery! I ordered a shrimp PO-Boy, Shrimp Quesadilla and a Reuben sandwich for takeout. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! The shrimp were very fresh and the corned beef on the Reuben tasted fresh and homemade. I look forward to dining in and enjoying a cold brew soon. Sorry, no pics this time. read more

We came here on the advice of a business associate. Not disappointed. Great ambiance, relaxing atmosphere. Ordered the seared tuna appetizer and it came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was a sizable tuna steak and we really enjoyed it. Wife ordered teriyaki wings and I ordered a mushroom/swiss burger. Wings came out dressed nicely. The wings were also nice and large. They were very good. The burger came out on a ciabatta roll, with a bed of lettuce, thick tomato slices, onions and pickles. Only downside is I asked for medium rare and the patty had zero pink. Still tasted well and was not dry. We would come back here for sure. 50$ for the appetizer, 2 entrees and drinks. It's a good value. read more

We picked this place to ride our motorcycle too for a day ride. After a couple of hours, we arrived. The Place was decorated very nice, with a large waiting area outside to accommodate a large waiting crowd. Very nicely decorated inside as well. We sat at the bar. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered greasy burgers, which my wife had a classic cheese burger and I had a patty melt on grilled rye. The burgers were not bad. On the larger size. Came out hot and quick. The fries were coated and were not what I'd order. The coated fries are not appetizing at all. They did have a good selection of beer. Since moving here 6 months ago, we have gone to The Place at least 10 times. We found it after a friend's suggestion and have taken all of our other friends there and everyone has loved it. It's such a great atmosphere and we just really enjoy the service and southern hospitality. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered but my personal favorites are the zucchini fries (we get them every time!), the Philly, and the fish and fries platter. And of course, no meal is complete without key lime pie! The original is great but the chocolate covered is out of this world. The only thing I dislike is that you seat yourself so it's hard to figure out how long the wait will be if it's full! read more

This place really must not like takeout orders. First try when I got there I had expected curbside because they had advertised it before. So no curbside as expected. I called from outside and asked about curbside pick-up and she said she would bring it out. Had a hefty tip in my hand because I realized she was going out of her way. After waiting 20 minutes my husband went in. Order sitting on the bar and she's just talking to someone. Second time ordered thru Grubhub. They got there and was told no order and they wouldn't do it. Third try thru Postmates, same thing would not make the order. Was not super impressed, I ordered the special of the day which was shrimp Alfredo. The shrimp was over cooked, and was not seasoned well. The noodles were cooked OK but the Alfredo sauce didn't have any taste, flavor. I added Parmesan cheese to try to help... And it was just OK. Good bar food it appears as opposed to A dinner meal. May try again one day for lunch. The Caesar salad was OK but I was disappointed in the flavors. Also what may help, there is no smoking indoors at the bar, which is a good thing! However, The smoking area is on the sidewalk as you enter the restaurant sad face. Maybe they could move it out back?? I am a local but I moved here from Key West, Florida. The Place is a great restaurant, wonderful staff and truly good food at a reasonable price. What trap this place is, came in to have a beer at their bar. Their was same elderly threesome playing some low sounding Christmas songs Eh ok, it's Dec 5 Bought a beer 4.00 and suddenly the bands elderly muscles show in the form of this not taking no for answer donation to the band!?!? Ok I flip her a buck as I'm there for one, she informs me it's $10.00 minimum!!!!! I should have just left, but she was panhandling so bad everyone at the bar, ( whom I guess had already been stung) where staring at me so I flipped the old gal a ten and she scuffles off. I went there today with a friend for lunch. The atmosphere was great and our server was great. Our food looked good but my chicken sandwich was kind of blah. Our food was just ok. On the way home I was driving and had to pull over for vomiting over and over and cramping stomach. I never get sick. At home the vomiting and diarrhea was horrible. About 2 hours later I was fine. Obviously something I ate was bad as that was all I had eaten today. I called the restaurant and talked to a female who identified herself as a manager. Her only words were "did you have grilled or fried chicken"! That's it! No apology and she said thank you! I told her she might want to check so others do not get sick. The answer was thank you! This evening I am totally fine so there is no illness. It was definitely some food poisoning. read more

Nobody has any hair neatly put in pony tails or even a hair net if it's unmanageable. She was so kind, HILARIOUS, down to earth, and overall the best waitress I have ever had! Service = STELLAR! And the best part is, the food was even BETTER! The prices were SO reasonable and the portion sizes were large! Food came out quickly and Katherine brought it out with a smile on her face! The restaurants atmosphere was cozy, quaint, and clean!
