Great new Sports Bar close to 30A. We sat in big leather chairs with an oversized coffee table. Each section had their own TV, nice for the NFL football games. We started with a few drinks - I was just doing a beer and we split a few snacks that were quick and fresh. The server was outstanding - always checking on us. We got the Caesar salad and the fresh basket of rolls with a tasty seasoned butter. We have been back a few times since this and sat at the bar for a few drinks. We went to lunch here and had a great time. Easy parking and nice decor. It's got a sports bar vibe but not overly so. Very helpful server who gave good intel on the menu options. My husband was interested in the Shrimp Po Boy and he gave a good recap of the unique interpretation that the Scout gave. Husband ordered and enjoyed it. It has a BBQ sauce and different toppings from your standard PoBoy but he liked it. I had the Chicago Hot Dog and was allowed to include the house chips instead of fries and that was a great choice! Dog was good, only thing is the bun was larger than the dog, not sure why that's a pet peeve, but I notice many hot dogs are not as big as the bun. But the dog was good, with plenty of toppings and the bun was toasted and tasty. Others enjoyed several other items, including a Reuben which was huge and apparently very enjoyable. We were here in the off season. For us, parking was a breeze. However, we had trouble finding the entrance, their signage is not great. The space is very upscale for a sports bar, way nicer than expected. Our server was prompt, friendly and very informative. Their menu is extensive. I am not a beer drinker, and I found their wine prices high, even for this area. I eat gluten free, and the menu is well marked to indicate what is gf, which is so helpful! I had the smoked grouper dip, it was fantastic! Served with a large portion of chips. Others had the reuben (amazing), the Chicago hot dog (very good) and the low country shrimp po boy (very nice). First time patrons. Entered through a secondary door by the ent of the bar unknowingly. Waited about 2 minutes with zero engagement from the bar staff. Found our way to the hostess stand to wait again for another couple of minutes before being greeted. Seated at a high top in the bar. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, and our server was excellent--friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. That said, the prices are extremely steep. I understand the area tends to run "elevated," but $42 for fish and chips (snapper, not halibut) feels excessive. For two people, that would run over $100 once tax and tip are added, and that's before ordering a drink! Yikes! Likewise, a $23 burger is hard to justify. Was hoping for prices more like Shades. I ordered the French Onion soup, which was outstanding, and my husband tried the burger, giving it an 8.5. The food was certainly high quality, and the atmosphere makes for a pleasant evening out. Hoping to upgrade this to five stars soon. Scout Tavern is a welcome addition to the area, and the space itself is fantastic--great design, great vibe. This neighborhood absolutely needed an upscale sports bar, and I truly want this place to succeed. That said, a few areas need attention. Service at the bar is inconsistent, and the food can be hit or miss. Some dishes, like the $25 Tavern Burger, are excellent. Others fall short, and I'd love to see more classic tavern staples added over time (like BBQ baby back ribs). My biggest concern is staff training around guest satisfaction. On two separate visits, entrées that were clearly untouched and openly described as "not good" were removed from the table but still left on the bill. Staff apologized but made no effort to offer a replacement or remove the item--something most restaurants consider basic hospitality. These issues are fixable, whether through training, menu refinement, or kitchen execution. I'm hopeful they'll keep improving, because the potential here is huge. If they continue to evolve, I'll be happy to come back and change this to a five-star review. read more

The restaurant is well decorated. It's very dark in there though. We went and it wasn't busy. We were greeted by our server immediately before even having a chance to look at the menu. We asked for a while. He came back with a minute. Then, he didn't come back for 10 minutes. We ordered apps and entrees. Our apps came out quickly ALONG with our entrees. We didn't even have time to eat our apps. Then, our server disappeared for a while again. We had entrees getting cold and apps in front of us. We chose to eat the hot entrees. I ordered the smoked grouper dip. It wasn't tasty at all. It tasted like canned tuna fish. The chips were bland and the pickled veggies were pickles and a pile of jalapeños . I couldn't eat it. My husband ordered the Poke and his potion was small with a heaping pile of chips. I ordered the wedge salad with skewered steak. The witch salad was good, the steak was one tiny toothpick skewers, and it was extremely tough. My husband got the filet. It's was good. The sides weren't. He said the potato au gratin was slimy and cold and the green bean were shriveled. We ordered iced teas and we never received refills. My appetizer sat on the table the entire meal basically uneaten. No one acknowledged that all of our food came out at the same time. No one acknowledged that I didn't eat the appetizer. The server wanted to know if I wanted a box for all of it. I told him I didn't care for it and that I didn't even have a chance to eat it since all of our food came out at once. That was it. No discussion. I would not recommend this place. read more

We waited for a sever for twenty minutes after we sat down and the place was empty. We had 8 people and they never cleared drinks or plates off our table. We literally stacked stuff up and asked them to clear our table. Service needs lots of help!!!! We have eaten at Scout twice in the last week, lunch today and dinner a few days ago. Both meals were delicious and the service was perfect. The menu has bar food like burgers and wings but the execution is high end. The wings are unlike anything I've had before and are lollipop style. The burgers are smash burgers and flavored so well. The Cabernet sauce on the steak was excellent. It was my husband's birthday today and they allowed him to pick a dessert free of charge. I really love the booth seating and decor. By far the worst experience I've ever had at a sports bar. On August 30th, a group of five of us visited Scout Sports Tavern to watch the FSU vs. Alabama game--and it was a disaster from start to finish. The restaurant area was closed, several bar-top tables had no bar stools, and the TVs were poorly placed with limited visibility. We managed to find a table--but it only had two chairs. We had to go outside and bring in three patio chairs ourselves just to sit. There was no table service. We had to go to the bar for drinks, and food was only available outside on the patio. To make matters worse: Just after halftime, a server came over and said they were going to change our TV to a different game because another table wanted it. This happened three times, with repeated threats to change the channel unless we moved. We asked for a manager--no one showed up until much later in the game, when a manager finally came by to tell us we had to return the chairs to the patio due to "reservations." We pointed out that their website said no reservations were being accepted. The manager ignored that. Eventually, the owner herself came to our table and demanded we give the chairs back, insisting they were needed for reserved patio tables. She showed no concern for us as paying customers and basically asked us to leave. In short: No service No proper seating Poorly managed TV setup Had to get our own drinks and food Confrontational staff and owner Overpriced and low-quality experience We will never go back, and I highly recommend avoiding Scout Sports Tavern. There are too many better-run spots to waste your time or money here. read more
