Nice small venue. Parking is amazingly easy. The size reminds me of the community theaters back in NJ. Security was Evolv walk throughs, at least for Jim Breuer, and bar service was quick and friendly. The place is small enough where finding your seat is easy and as far as acoustics go, it is kind of hard to tell sitting up front for comedy. Meaning, for Jim, it was awesome. First time at The Plaza Live on Bumby Road and honestly... such a great experience from start to finish! The venue itself is surprisingly spacious. The ground floor has plenty of room to move around and enjoy the show without feeling cramped, which I really appreciated. They also have upstairs seating options if you're looking for a more elevated (and probably pricier) experience--but it's nice to have that flexibility depending on your vibe. Whether you want to stay for hours or just pop in and enjoy the performance, it caters to both. Staff were friendly and efficient all around. The bar setup was a huge plus--there were multiple bartenders working, so drinks came out quickly. Perfect for grabbing something before the show or doing a quick pregame without missing the fun. I came specifically to see Calum Scott, and WOW--he did not disappoint. His voice is even more incredible live, and you can tell he genuinely connects with the audience. Super kind energy, amazing stage presence, and just an all-around beautiful performance. The production was also top tier. The lighting and laser effects were phenomenal and really elevated the entire experience--it felt immersive without being overwhelming. One moment that really stood out was how the staff handled an emergency situation in the audience. Security and the team responded quickly and professionally, making sure the individual got the help they needed. That level of care and organization says a lot about the venue. Overall, such a solid first impression. Great layout, fast service, amazing performances, and a team that clearly knows what they're doing. I've been to the plaza during another event that was in their parking lot plus inside. At that event it was market based so vendors were selling inside. I recall feeling like it was too crowded and too dark to see the vendors at the time. I wished it had felt more controlled but there was rain outside and so everyone was seeking refuge inside and it maybe just got out of hand. This time I came for a comedy show. We had seats upstairs which is a standard seated balcony. These seats are fixed, unlike the ground floor which can be seated or standing. I'm glad we had these seats because the ground floor seats looked like those ones you would find at a conference dinner table and are too small for your bum plus not comfortable at all. The balcony seats are spacious and have cup holders plus the venue is small enough that you aren't too far away. Honestly it's worth it up there. Now...I love the idea of local venues staying open but this space just feels like no updates have happened since 1980 and I know that's not true. It feels dingy and unkempt. I'm not sure if this means anything to anyone but it made me itchy. Anyhow, parking is easy, tickets don't tend to be expensive and it's local so I'm still glad it's here. read more

Amazing and interactive. First time at The Plaza Live and chose DEMOLA Live for a date night... awesome!!!!!!! He got right into the crowd and encouraged participation. This place is a smaller venue and great for the price...... it won't leave you bankrupt. Seats are cushioned folding type chairs. Restrooms are big and newly remodeled. Plaza Live is an entertainment venue owned by the Orlando Philharmonic. Free adjacent parking, reasonably priced refreshments and a professional staff make this a great spot to see a show. This theater built in 1963 started as a two screen theater and was converted into a live concert venue in the early 1990's. The main floor, sections 1,2 and 3 have folding chairs with padding that make them comfortable. They are fixed in place so that every seat is equal distant apart. They remove these for general admission shows. Sections 4 and 5 are the balcony seating. It's a small venue so pretty much every seat is better than an arena or stadium. The theater has recently completed renovations to the entire complex and besides a new sound system and building structural changes, there are new bathrooms, remodeled lobby and now 2 beverage serving counters. The Philharmonic has shows here and at the Dr Phillips Center. Plaza Live books national and international acts via AXS Tickets which is similar to Ticketmaster. I have gone to over a 100 shows here over the years because of no hassle parking and generally short or no entry queues. The theater books acts that allow you to see shows much closer to the artist and ticket prices don't break the bank. However there are service fees as follows: Ticketing basically boils down to the same fees at the box office or online. Additional fees apply if you order over the phone and how you take delivery. Here is their fee schedule: "There are three different fees that may be added to your ticket purchase, depending on how you order your tickets and how you choose to have them delivered. These fees go toward staffing, equipment, venue updates, education programs, and ensuring that parking at The Plaza Live remains free for its guests. See below for more details on ticket fees for The Plaza Live. A per-ticket service fee is added to the price of each ticket at the time of purchase. Service fees are based on a percentage of the ticket price. Service fees are added to tickets ordered online, in-person, or over the phone. Service fees apply to all ticket sales. I frequently see people returning to their cars with larger bags. There is a metal detector, body wand scan and physical bag check. They do not allow outside food or drinks. Although the restrooms are recently remodeled there is a limited number and during intermission and after the show there can be lines. My experience is they move fast. Lately the merch tables are outside near the doors protected by the theater roof. The Flash Seats App uses a refresh every 60 seconds so a screen print of tickets will not work with the entrance scanners. For the free delivery the app must be OPEN, signed in and the tickets displayed on your phone. Physical tickets obtained by mail or the box office will work. The somewhat negative is that the Plaza Live staff does not prevent attendees from leaving their seats and standing near the stage. Based on the exuberance for the act this can grow to a crowd. Many times they are filming on their phones. At a recent event an artist seemed to be receptive to photos but soon there was a huge throng in front of the stage all with their brightly lit phones on video. The artist asked the audience "Can you just put them down?" Which lasted for 5 minutes. Tickets are priced by location. If I had front row seating and people were blocking my view, I might not enjoy the show. There is not a water fountain but beverages including water are available from the service bars. I always have a great time and have seen comedy acts, guitar heros like Joe Banamaasa and Dweezil Zappa and many artists that I have been a fan of since my youth. read more

I've heard great things about this venue but never had an opportunity to enjoy a show here until a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to see the great Michael Schenker here just a few rows back from the stage. The view of the stage was fantastic and the seating arrangement is sloped down towards the stage so guests have a great view from wherever they are seated. The lighting and sound team were on point. I honestly can't say enough good things about the entertainment. The lobby is spacious, drink, and merchandise were reasonably priced. Staff were super friendly and the security team was polite and respectful. There is a lot of free parking available in their main lot plus more overflow by the strip mall. Parking is a huge deal for me. If I'm paying $100 for a ticket I don't want to get taken to the cleaners when I arrive, good job keeping parking free! This venue is medium sized and has 903 seats. If your guitar hero is coming to town and they are playing at the Plaza Live, I highly recommend buying early using AXS Tickets. I was able to pick the exact seat I wanted months in advance yet on other sites that feature was not available. I've been in Orlando for a long time and finally attended an event inside The Plaza Live. We bought tickets to Zarna Garg's show after being introduced to her comedy at Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler's show. We opted for seats in the balcony; although further the seats appear to be more comfortable than the ones on the floor. Plus there's cup holders if you're having a drink. Vendor merch was outside which was a bit different, it was a nice night so I'm curious if that's the case on a rainy day too. We skipped the bar this time so I cannot attest to drink pricing. Overall a good local venue. I appreciate the opportunity to attend a show in an Orlando staple. read more

FINALLY got a chance to see a show at the Plaza to see Balu Brigada a couple weeks ago and had a blast. What a great venue in the middle of the Milk District. The acoustics were fantastic. The stage is elevated, so it's easier for us shorties to be able to see the performers on stage! It reminded me of the Hard Rock Live venue set up, without all of the fancy bells and whistles. I came here to watch Michael Carbonaro. I was sat in row M right in the middle. I had heard some people complain about the chairs so I was a little worried but there's cushion on the foldout chair so it's not as bad as I thought it would be. My legs were definitely stiff by the end of the show though. I was contemplating standing up in the back of the room to finish the show. I ended up buying a bottle of water and it was cheaper to pay in cash than it was to pay with a card. The bartender was nice. You're not allowed to record inside so I don't have any photos to show. If you're thinking of watching a show here, I would be cautious with where you're sat. I did have a group of men in front of me and I could barely see the screen over their heads. I'm coming back for another show in April and have chosen an aisle seat that doesn't have a seat in front of it so I shouldn't have to run into that issue again. It does get a little chilly in here so I might recommend bringing a sweater if you get cold easily. read more

The venue is very nice and clean. They have the men's bathrooms to the right and the women's bathrooms are on the left when you enter, they have two bars to the right near. The men's bathroom is a bigger bar into the left towards the women's bathroom is a smaller bar once you enter the theater there's two floors there's a balcony and then there's the main stage with a lot of seating in front of the main stage. We got a nice view from the front right hand side of the theater. We enjoyed Dragula very much all the dry queens were amazing and they had a nice merchandise booth outside to purchase merchandise everyone at the venue was super nice and everything was very easy to get into and get seated for the show. read more

We were here for the Whiskey Business event and it was a great time. We had purchased tickets on Black Friday for the event so we went with VIP passes. This allowed us to get in about one hour early plus there was a small VIP area that was separate from general admission. Getting in one hour early was amazing. There was hardly anyone there and we were able to try multiple food and drinks. The alcohol vendors were giving more of a tasting pour but the bars would give a full drink. There were multiple bars, set up around the venue serving wine, beer, and some cocktails. The VIP area had its own bar plus the Makers Mark booth. They were giving out four samples of bourbon plus they were making Makers Mark branded handkerchiefs. There was also a food area that had some good shrimp. There were multiple tables and chairs compared to almost no seating in the general admission area. I would recommend VIP for the seating alone. There were general admission areas in the lobby, front half of the area toward the stage, a separate room to the left of the stage area, and food trucks out in the parking lot. There were multiple restaurants giving food samples. My favorite was a dessert table, giving tiny cupcakes and a variety of rice crispy treats. We were so full we ended up leaving about an hour before the end. This is a perfect venue for this type of event. We probably wouldn't go again. Even with VIP there was a lot of waiting in line. read more

Wow!!! First time at the Plaza Live and I loved it! I don't think I ever parked closer to any event I went to ever! If you're worried about finding a spot, get there early then walk over to the Plaza and go to Chick Fil A or Ale House or Too Jay's then walk back to the Plaza Live. The size of the venue is perfect for small to medium sized entertainers that wouldn't fit the Kia Center or even Hard Rock Live. The seating for a Comedy Show (Jeff Ross) was layed out nicely and I know they can do different configurations (chairs, no chairs). I didn't sit in the Balcony but it was a bit far from the stage. For drinks, the $6 PBR was delivered ASAP and a great value. Some of the liquor drinks were a bit overpriced for the size and quality of alcohol. Luckily, Total Wine is close so we loaded up on small moonshines and drank them before the show. read more

We had a very good time at this venue. It is quaint and although we were in the first 10 rows it appears there really is not a bed seat in the house to view the stage from. The ingress and egress was smooth and there is plenty of parking. Security at the entrance was not overbearing. The prices for drinks and snacks was very reasonable, compared to other venues. The acoustics were fantastic, so props to the venue and the mixer! The seats themselves are basically folding chairs attached to one another in a row. This in itself is not hateful, unless you get stuck sitting shoulder to shoulder with an obese person, or someone that has not showered in awhile, as the seats were not really uncomfortable. This really is my only gripe, taking the experience from great to good. But don't let that stop you, if it is not a concern you may have. It was my first time returning after the remodel. My experience is based on about 70% capacity. I've been to past events with GA and have sat in the balcony. I went for a seated show (section 3 row O) recently and fortunately for me, it wasn't sold out so I had an empty seat next to me. I could imagine how uncomfortable it would be with a full row- tight fit, not much room to get by. Section 3 has railings along the right side which may not be noted when purchasing seats. I like to sit closer to the aisle, and much to my dismay, I had to sashay past most of the row to get in an out vs the 2 seats to my right. View was good as long as people weren't standing. I recommend the front row of the sub-orchestra as there was a ledge for drinks. Bartenders were great! read more

We came to see Dusty Slay at the Plaza live in mid March. We were invited and had never been to the venue so were pleasantly surprised how crowded it was. While we didn't park in the parking lot, we noticed that it was nice and convenient to have space to do so in the future. We arrived at the venue and there was a line out the door to enter. We quickly hopped in and noticed merchandise to purchase as well. The line moved pretty quickly so we were inside in no time. We went in to order drinks and were greeted by the nicest staff. The line to order drinks was moving quick and there were plenty of options to choose from. We quickly took our seats in a small and intimate venue. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but nothing to really complain about. The show itself was hilarious and with an opening act, went until roughly 9:30-10pm. I used the women's restroom once which was clean and had multiple stalls for others. Overall, great little local venue in the middle of Orlando! read more

Honestly I was dreading coming here. I knew it was a smaller theater and smaller theaters normally mean a nightmare bathroom situation and unbearable crowding. The funniest thing happened though. I loved it. I had no idea that this place had recently completed a massive renovation. You can definitely tell. The lobby isn't opulent or anything like that, but it's really nice and has a bar off the side where you can get drinks. The bathrooms looked completely new and could accommodate a lot of people. I did think it was a little odd that there were only three urinals and a massive (for a men's room) number of stalls, but I'll take it. The concert layout here is similar to the Hard Rock in that the bottom floor is general admission (which I want no part of) and the top floor is a balcony with reserved seats. The balcony wasn't huge but there were still a good number of people that could fit up there. Since this is a smaller theater there is a great view of the stage from up there. Usually after a concert it's a nightmare to get out or get a rideshare but because it's a smaller parking lot and there is parking also at the nearby shopping center it wasn't an issue at all. People dispersed almost immediately and it was so easy to leave. I went in thinking this was going to be a one and done visit and I left wondering when I would see my next show here. read more

Just saw a show here recently. I was worried given some of the other recent reviews, as the place is under renovation, but they are making good progress. We went to see a British Comedian and the first thing he said was that the venue reminded of Aleppo, Syria and we looked like survivors LOL - that gives you an idea of the renovations, but he's also a comedian - it's not as bad as that. So the good: 1) The ladies room is now renovated (no more sharing with the boys - ladies!) It was pretty nice - maybe a bit dark, but definitely all new, grey modern themed. 2) Easy parking (keep in mind there is fencing all around the front, but they have walk ways setup) 3) Security was fast - BUT make sure if you bring a bag/purse that it's really only about 4 x 6 or 5x6. I have a small cross body I always take to events, and I got through, but the 2 women in front of me had to take their bags back to their cars 4) Decent bar selection - line moved well. A single glass of wine was $11, double was $20 (and a double is like a big solo cup). Not that great: 1) The seats are kind of old, cloth covered folding chairs - but it was comfortable enough. If you are a larger person, and are seated next to another larger person, you two may be up close and personal. The group next to me had 2 huge guys (wrestlers) with them and they had purchased an extra seat or two, which worked out really well. I'm larger than average but my husband is average size and we had no problem being comfortable in our 2 seats. I just read a lot of reviews about the seats and wanted to be a bit more specific in case anyone was concerned. 2) It's really hard to let people pass once you're seated, so much so that people literally get up and empty into the aisle to let folks in or out. So get your drinks and snacks before you sit so you're not that guy. Tip: There are 2 floor sections. At the front of the second section(which is raised slightly) there is a shelf where you can put your drinks/snacks. Those are great seats to have so you don't have to juggle your drink. I'd definitely go for them next time I'm booking. The shelf runs all the way along the front of that row. read more

Had a nice visit at this small theater downtown near the milk District. They have a full bar so that was nice. What was unfortunate is that they only have potato chips and candy and I was hoping for some popcorn or other more robust types of refreshments. The theater was well kept, and the security was good. The reason I gave a four not five is because the seats are entirely too small and tight together. If you're unfortunate enough to sit next to someone who does not fit in their seat, then they will be touching you and on top of you the entire performance and that's really not fair or hygienic. This was my second time at The Plaza Live and I have to say it was a much better experience than the first time I was there! The Plaza is under construction but still very clean and organized. There are medal detectors which everyone has to walk through prior to entering. Small purses are allowed and by small I mean 4.5x6.5 which is a wallet. Larger clear bags are allowed though! The employees at the entrance were helpful from scanning our tickets to security. They also have a bar with seltzers, beer, and mixed drinks. They are a tad on the expensive side, but a nice pour so it makes up for it! There are also snacks for purchase. The seating area is bigger than expected and there are even seats upstairs! The first time I was there it was HOT. However, this time it was nice and cool which helps as the seats are super close to each other. You will become friendly with your neighbors. lol Although the seats are close, they are comfortable! I can't wait to see it after the renovations are complete. :) read more

Took my teens to watch Hulvey! What a phenomenal shows the location was nice. There only seating upstairs. We chose to be downstairs. Standing all night was a bit tough but so fun. The only thing I must warn is that it is super HOT! Two people passed out. It was extremely packed. There was no air circulation, and they had to open some doors. The bar had all kinds of drinks but I didn't get anything except for water: which was $5. A bit much considering it was so hot due to their space. Also buying merch was a bit of a pain because you had to get in a separate line after getting your bagged checked to then go and do it again after buying merch. So it was a bit chaotic. The restrooms were small for that venue but served their purpose. It was clean though and so that is important. I don't know if I would go back unless it is an artist we really really want to see. read more

Came here for a concert and enjoyed my experience. The security line was very short and efficient. The merch booth had great options and the workers were quick. The seats were the downfall to this location. They were crammed so tight that my friends and I were touching arms with the people next to us, making it hardly movable if you want to jam along to the music. The seats were folding chairs and very uncomfortable. Be prepared knowing that going in! Make sure to bring a very small bag if any, they don't allow larger bags. Not only with the performance which was fantastic but by the thoughtfulness of everything else. Checking in for the performance was super easy and every worker and volunteer was super friendly. The lobby was large, bright and filled with activities for the kids. The performance was also not too short or long which avoided any meltdowns. Came in Tuesday night for the Ted Nugent concert. Their Wi-Fi was down due to a storm that rolled through earlier so they was delayed on getting us in. FYI if never been there is extra parking between then and tg lee and also the strip mall area behind it. Once inside they had a few bars set up. The concert was good and if you know Ted he speaks up on gun rights and politics which the crowd went nuts for. My only complaint about it is how people try to find their seats. So many people had no clue where their rows are and the plaza didn't have anyone there to assist. When the lights went down it was even harder. The Plaza holds about a little over 6000 but I didn't see how. It was a sold out show. Again Ted rocked it for his age and still sounds the same read more

Went here on December 5, 2022 for a brass & percussion concert with a friend. Staff was friendly and the concert was good. They didn't have any food options, which was a bummer, they did however sell drinks. The seats weren't auditorium seating, more like folding chairs with some cushion, just be aware. But overall a good experience! I did attend another concert later in December, a Holiday Pop outside concert at the Apopka Amphitheater, and that one was a 5/5! They had a full orchestra and it was just beautiful. read more

A underestimated venue for great music. I came here to watch the band Local Natives most recently and had a great experience. I felt very safe with the new security system they've added since I last came here. I sat in the upstairs seating last time I came and did general admission this time and both are very nice. Both offer superb sound quality and General Admission wasn't overcrowded or unpleasant for how many people came to this show. They had two bars open for this show and both had long lines but they moved rather quickly. I waited for Jen all three times I got a drink because she was an amazing bartender. I was just going to get the white claw and she up-sold me on the featured Sun Hands drink which was white claw with a shot of Tito's. read more

3 Stars for a medium sized venue to watch a local show. It was nuts to realize that until this week, I'd never been to a show at Plaza Live. But I was lucky enough to get to watch The Zombies play this venue and it was a great show! The venue itself has plenty of parking out front and behind. It's attached to the Colonialtown Plaza, just across from Drunken Monkey. There were metal detectors out front and they were checking purses, which I appreciated especially given the tragedy a few years ago at Plaza Live. They had two bars set up inside the lobby. The venue itself was good. The seats were not permanent, so I imagine that gives the venue some flexibility when it comes to the type of show they host. I appreciated lighted exit signs and security by the stage. Overall, good venue. Not somewhere I'd necessarily be dying to go back to, but if there's a great band, I'll be there! read more
