Plex Athletic Club is my regular go to workout place because it's the closest to my home. It has definitely changed and upgraded over the past years. Most of the staff are pleasant, especially the front desk team. They greet you when you walk in, which makes me feel welcome. That's such a nice way to start the day. I personally haven't used the steam or dry sauna since COVID. I've heard people overuse the area & that's not cool. Many good things changed like members also don't reserve spots the way they used to. And I rarely see or hear ladies talking loudly on their phones in the locker room these days, which is a really good thing. I just want to say that Plex is clearly working with its members. Following rules, regulations, and basic etiquette isn't always easy for everyone, so better communication makes a big difference. Of course that's not easy either. I can't say enough good things about Alex at The Plex! My daughters have participated in various seasons of indoor soccer, and Alex has always been incredibly professional and courteous. This past Tuesday, we decided to drop in to watch a World Cup soccer match, and to our surprise, the place was packed! I approached Alex to ask if there was any available seating, and he went above and beyond to assist us. Not only did he help us find a spot, but he also checked in on us throughout the evening to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. What really stood out was how Alex treated everyone around him. He was constantly walking around, checking on guests and making sure everything was running smoothly. Thanks to his exceptional service, we had a fantastic time! This club is overall amazing, very clean, always getting updated equipment and all staff members are great. As far as training programs, I recently took the "MG Elite" group training for six weeks and was extremely happy with the way the program was run and my overall results. Special shout-out to Matt Ginion for being such a great professional trainer and coach. He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything in detail (from movement techniques to outside the gym best practices, nutrition, recovery, etc.). I love this place. It's well appointed, clean, the staff is friendly and it has everything you need to get a good workout. I appreciate that most of the members follow the rules about no cell phone use on the fitness floor; I wish more people would actually wipe the machines down after use, but the Plex does provide lots of towels and spray bottles for that purpose. I've been a member at The Plex for about three years. Over time, I've been a member of many fitness centers. The Plex is among the best. It's clean, they work hard to maintain the facility and equipment, they have loads of fantastic classes, and their equipment is plentiful. This means it is a pleasure to come into The Plex to work out. Perhaps best of all, a number of the staff actually take the time to learn your name -- something that I didn't experience at even smaller supposedly more elite clubs. The Plex also sends out regular surveys asking how they can improve -- and they listen to what members say -- as I've seen suggestions implemented before. I stand for TRUTH and everything I'm re-writing is based on my personal experience in the evenings and Saturday mornings. I have to re-write this review to be FAIR to the 5 STAR FACILITY and most of the 5 STAR INSTRUCTORS. On the night of July 20th, 2026 I knew I was done in this gym. I got tired of everything that is been happening in the last 3-4 years. My family and I joined this gym 10 years ago. At that time all the way to 2020 the service was EXCELLENT. We were always valued customers, respected and appreciated by the quality people who ran the place. I'm the last of my family to leave this place due to this new management, group x manager Meghan Robertson and the rude lady who sells memberships in the evening, short, black hair. I excuse Brooke because she only executes based on information that is given to her. She is NEVER present to experience the evenings or Saturdays. Under this new management my concerns have been dismissed but used to their favor. I have been disrespected so many times, treated like a nuisance, ignored, used by instructors who also have felt disrespected; and gang up on by members who act as if they own the front row of every class; and literally want to erase anyone who dares workout on the front row. I agree w every person that has given this gym a LOW STAR REVIEW due to poor management. I have experienced it first hand over and over in the last 3-4 years. Hoping things would get better. I choose to put up w a lot of the issues happening here. Know of all the unhappy members in the same page I was. NOTHING is going to get better under this management. This gym is going downhill. I would honestly recommend other higher end gyms or even Planet Fitness at this point. There are cockroaches, and the third and fourth bathroom stalls always have stains. The refill station is constantly not working. The workers lack basic kindness. They do not greet you, say hi, or even goodnight. Most of the time they are on their phones or pretending to work on the computer while actually watching something. The managers are not much better. They walk around doing the bare minimum while employees socialize with friends or even let people in without checking them in. The showers are also a big issue. Some doors do not close, and one even shattered on someone who had to be wheeled out. There is mold on the ceilings, and the shower heads are not properly cleaned. They redid the steam room a year ago, but instead of hiring someone who knows what they are doing or using proper materials, they blame it on it being too steamy. It is a steam room, that is expected. They tell members to be quiet, yet their own employees are on phone calls or gossiping while working. Instead of bringing in massage equipment and cutting services, they should fix the major issues first. Most days, the shower water does not even get warm. They have removed many of the water jet massagers, and it feels like they are turning it into something else instead of improving what is already there. I will give them two stars only because of one employee who works the night shift. He is a tall young guy who always greets people with a smile, does his closing duties, and actually cleans. Alright this is only for the trainer Chelsea I got paired up with her cause I wanted personal training she seem very sweet and nice and I belived in her and her training . There was a miscommunication about days I was supposed show up i didnt come cause was ask to stay at work to cover a coworker who called in sick and there was no way out of it. And then I got a call from her saying I was late they were going charge .. I understand there miscommunication but they way she came off was rude and unprofessional and she told me I had pay for the next session and the full session. Before I even get the session. She made me so guilty for not showing up and seriously I couldn't get out of say no to my boss this was last minute . So I apologize told her I wouldn't happen again . She said she wave the fee and to please not do that again I told her im very sorry. And then she comes back texts me hr later saying she changed her mind and if I was going do this again then she wouldnt want work with me.. and then she proceeded to cancel both appointments I still had . Look I understand about the calling in if I had a problem but I thought I was going see her the next day and later in the week . It was my first time ever doing this and she was lashing out at me unprofessional through text like I did this more then once even if I said I was very sorry . Now I enjoy the plex everything else there but the way she handled it and I hate give low star review but it really wasnt my fault and it was a misunderstanding . I had a booty class today and came from ClassPass. It's my first time coming here and first time attending a class here as well. I went to the front desk and they assisted me. They didn't check me in or anything, only asked for my number and I showed my class reservation. The gym is so big and a nice girl helped guide me to where the class was. Great service from her and didn't catch her name. She was wearing blue and white nike dunks. Aside from that, the class itself was challenging. I don't lift super heavy anymore and am focused on toning up and maintaining. The booty class had 3 diff workouts. 1st one I did were RDLs, 4 heavy working sets of 8, 2nd were step ups, 3 working sets of 8 and lastly 100 hip thrusts. YES. ONE HUNDRED. I thought I was dying and I've never done that before but now I can say I did! It was 35 lbs though but I still did that! Amazing class and instructor.. she really pushes you. read more

The staffs are friendly and the facility is pretty clean. The pool is too cold compared to Villa Sport. Kids can't swim there anytime due to strict day/time requirements. They even require my kids to take an unrealistic swim test prior to letting them in the pool. At Villa Sport, kids are welcome anytime of the day. I think management needs to revisit the policy to accommodate everyone needs. I been a member for over two years but seriously consider going back to Villa Sport. read more

TLDR Club Sport doesn't care about their members. And if they do... they sure have a great way of showing it. I've been coming to Club sport on and off since I was about 6 years old when it was Club One and I'm now 24. In recent years this place has gone down hill SOOOO fast. Under new management they have a new system where there's no room for any wiggle room for curtesy initiation fee waivers for returning members or anything to show some appreciation towards members. Back when Chris worked here I was able to bring in a friend for a workout. Now we're super restricted to using points to bring a buddy in and we're only allowed to bring a buddy in every couple months. On one incidence I wanted to redeem my buddy pass, the front desk girl made me wait for 30 minutes because apparently membership has to approve the pass. She was wrong and all I got in return was an oops sorry let me give you another buddy pass. What a hot commodity these passes are! Here's where my real issue with Club Sport lies: My sister and I for the last couple years have been rejoining during the summer time when we're back home for about 3 months. And every single time we have to pay an initiation fee. So after a couple of years doing this I asked if there's a work around for this. They said we can do the 2 month college plan, but my law school breaks are much longer than that so we opted out of this option. We decided to just pay month to month and put our accounts on hold until we returned next summer. No initiation fee when we rejoined again. Wow a solution! Yeah we thought this was a solution until we came back in to "pause" our memberships. What they so kindly told us was that "pauses" only lasted for 6 months and come at a premium price. If I had known this I would've just paid the darn initiation fee. Our sales person never told us this and so when we came in we felt very much blindsided. I reached out to management and was met with a sorry bout that but you signed a contract. What excellent customer service! As a law student you betcha I read the contract we signed and we were never made to sign the pause contract until it came time to pause our membership. There was no notice of the slimy practices they slammed onto us later on. So what was the point of us going through all this hassle only to have to pay fees that we were avoiding. Transparency apparently isn't a thing yet. Save your money. Go to a place that truly cares about the years and years of membership you put into a facility. Adios Club Sport! read more

I think it needs to be stated that this gym is the only gym I've ever been able to consistently go to. It has the best view of the stars if you're able to muster the energy to go right when they open. Every time I go in, I see the same familiar people at the reception, and they all make an effort to actually learn your name! I think that played a major part in keeping me going. It is honestly a bit pricy, but you're paying for a premium experience and the chance to make some of the best friends of your life. The people I talk to in this gym have given me life advice, gym advice, and are some of the most amazing people I've ever met(even if I forget their names sometimes- sorry!) The gym itself is a step above. I originally came for swimming, which is really great. As I've moved to gym, there's the standard gym room, and the EDGE where you can Olympic powerlift, hit the bags, and do some other pretty intense workouts. The classes look fun, and they've been trying to nudge me into taking some yoga, but I haven't done it juuuuust yet. Hope I'm coming here for years to come! read more

I can't say enough good things about ClubSport. Their facilities are excellent, there's a variety of training areas, swimming pools, a hot tub, hydromassage chairs, sauna, steam room, and a great selection of guided group exercise from kickboxing to pilates to spin. The group instructors I've tried are wonderful, especially Michelle in her expertise, Eva in her inspiration and Terri in her tranquility. The personal trainers are knowledgeable, dedicated, and seek to empower. I'm happy to see they have youth programs, usually led by Bronson, and they look like they have a lot of fun. And major respect for the Director of Fitness/PT Manager, Matt Truscott, with whom I've had the pleasure of gleaning a bit of strength and conditioning wisdom before I start physical therapy school. Matt cares about mentoring new trainers and passing on his knowledge to benefit others. Many compliments to the cleaning staff as well, as the gym is kept clean and well stocked in towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and other amenities! They truly help make the whole experience feel like a Greek gymnasium and a Roman bathhouse rolled into one. They also have a cafe with ample seating. I often see people doing work there. Similar or slightly lower caliber gyms in the South Bay are around the 180-250/mo range, making ClubSport's all-inclusive membership at 135/mo a win. That all being said, I do have some reservations about others in the managerial suite. Brooke, the General Manager, is picky about which clients with whom to endear herself. I was not one of them, and early on, while I was considering membership (I was introduced to the Club through MORE Physical Therapy, which has a location in the same complex), she said I could not stay in the cafe, and I also know that she escalated this issue with MORE even after I left. It was my genuine misunderstanding, I thought the cafe was its own entity, like the clinic is. But I was surprised she did nothing to invite me to consider joining, which would have smoothed the edges and benefited the company. But I liked ClubSport enough to sign up despite her tactlessness. Brooke also seems to treat MORE like a nuisance -- why I say that is when she came to kick me out, she first asked in a condescending way if I was a MORE patient. She also gave my therapist, Gary, some trouble by wanting him to be responsible for kicking patients out immediately (based on what I heard from MORE staff, there is an agreement between ClubSport and MORE that patients are allowed to use the gym), and also spying and gossiping on Gary with other Club managers. If their values no longer align, then the two companies should revisit their contract, not harass workers and patients. Beside that, I witnessed her calling an older gentleman a "cheater" for taking a class with someone other than his usual instructor. His daughter voiced her displeasure that Brooke was so mean to a loyal member, and Brooke just laughed. Brooke even called over the other instructor to substantiate her gossip, and to see her reaction. All parties were uncomfortable, including the ~30 members who were waiting to start the class. Not professional at all. Other managers include Daisy from the cafe, Megan for group ex, and Alexis, the assistant general manager. The Club is great, but I question how they use their time to speak in whispers with the younger female front desk workers. I just hope these more seasoned women are not setting a bad example for the upcoming generation. But I still approve of ClubSport as a whole. I've then go back to add my mat number on the check out sheet, tell Megan "hey Sarah was really rude, I tried to check out a mat, and Sarah replied I can't help you I'm on the phone. Megan then responds to me "Well she was on the phone". What the heck? That is extremely unprofessional. This gym is the best bang for your buck. The quality of the facilities are amazing and the diversity of the classes, equipment, and fitness centers are amazing. The gym is very clean, very well maintained, and the women's locker room is very nice. They have a sauna, steam room, showers, and vanity stations. This coupled with the pool, weight training centers, fitness classes, and amount of equipment makes this truly the best gym I've been to. I occasionally have used their cafe, spa services, and hydro massage chairs. The holistic ness of this gym make it truly such a fun place to train at. My favorite part of this gym is definitely access to the hot yoga, barre, and Pilates classes. The trainers, coaches, and instructors are all amazing. read more

I love this place! I've been in and out of this gym since the Club One days, and the facilities has improved time and time again. The locker rooms and showers are cleaner than any other gym that I've been a member of. The instructors for group fitness classes here are amazing and supportive in helping you improve in fitness! My favorite classes are the dance, heated yoga, and heated Pilates classes. There are plenty of machines and weights both upstairs and downstairs, making it convenient to get a workout without any waiting period. Minus one star because the Service Desk can improve on hospitality. I've walked into the building and checked in at least 3 times within a short period in which the front desk didn't even look up from their phone. This concerns me for security reasons. Other than that, the digital lockers are secure and safe! It can be a little pricier than the average gym, but it is worth it! read more

I was here for a MixxedFit training certification so I can't say anything much more than what I experienced that day as I'm not a member of this club. L O C A T I O N Getting to ClubSport San Jose is a bit of a trek. It's not immediately next to the freeway, but it's not too far away from 101. It's located in the hills around various company buildings. There's a lot of parking so I don't think you'll have to worry about fighting for a spot. You may just have to walk a little but hey you're here for a workout right? I N S I D E I primarily ventured around the Women's locker room and the second floor group fitness room as well as hanging out in the cafe area. Yes, they have a cafe area that serves some wraps and such. There's a few tables and couches which are nice especially if you're taking a break from an 8 hour training session! ~ Women's Locker Room ~ Wow. It's large. There are a lot of lockers (which I didn't use), there's a couple of sauna rooms. There are a good amount of showers and a set that are wheel chair accessible. They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash...geez, and they all smell lovely. They also have hair spray and lotions as well as many hair dryers so basically you don't even need to bring anything from home. There are plenty of towels...lots and lots of towels. You may need to have two to cover both top and bottom. ~ Group Fitness Room ~ The room is very long. It's kind of like two smaller rooms combined at other studios so it may be hard to see the instructor if they're in one half of the room. The room can get hot, but they do have fans and an AC that can be controlled in the room. The room is full of windows and lots of mirrors. They have water bottle fillers which are nice. O V E R A L L ClubSport has always been swankier than other gyms. You do have to pay for it. But for the day I spent there, the folks at the gym were nice. The amenities were great. I have been going to ClubSport to workout in the pool, using the jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The staff are all super friendly and I love exercising here. Although the membership may be a little expensive ($100+ per month), I don't mind since I am here basically every day and using their beautifully maintained facility. Towel service and the cafe with the splendid fresh squeezed orange juice really is the cherry on top. It's not too crowded at all and I regularly get my own lane to swim in without a wait. Have been going here for a short while now and sad to see how management is so unresponsive and does not care about giving the patrons a good experience. One of the main reasons I liked this club was the group classes that were included as part of the monthly rate (which is pretty high). However while they have a few , they are very crowded. For the popular classes (Zumba,strength/power, yoga, hot* etc, ) there is no space for proper movement. That's is because of the limited included classes they have. They added new classes but all of them are extra $45-$55 A CLASS. Classes that were free like HIiT , circuit, and FIRE are cancelled and replaced by paid classes. Seems like the focus is solely on milking patrons more rather than provide a good value for those already there. I was not aware of the over crowded classes till after I joined. I'm so irritated that they replaced all the Concept rowers with Matrix rowers. Do they not know that Concept rowers are better and there was nothing wrong with the previous Concept rowers. Maybe if the staff used the rowers they would know. This might make me cancel my membership. read more

I love this gym!!! Great staff, management, and I love the sauna, steam room. The cafe is great and they offer a variety of snacks and meal prep. My daughters love going to the gym as well. My younger daughter 10 years) enjoys the kid area and also the "recess" class. Also I have received a few facials here and they are excellent! Also a great class to check out is Colleen's class. I read in a review about somebody calling the other women in the locker room "mannerless" which is false. I have met so many cool women in the locker room and everyone is so nice and friendly. Yes, there is talking, but it is a locker room! I highly suggest this gym, they also have a nutritionist who holds health seminars and offers great services! read more

I've been going to ClubSport since 2012 when they used to be Club One. I remember the free duffle bag for new members, and how you needed to insert your membership card in the lockers to retrieve the key. Although the amenities provided are less than before, and the membership prices have increased a few times, I never minded. They always kept the place clean, and the equipment is nice. Staff at the front desk always greeted customers with a smile, and said bye to everyone that left. However, after a recent experience with a few people from the membership team, I was left a bit unhappy. So we (ClubSport gym partner and I) decided to join Villa Sports. Though it's a little further, the newer and larger facilities along with lower prices should make up for the distance. read more

This gym is definitely worth the price great staff members super clean gym from the equipment to the pool to the showers all in tip top shape I absolutely love it here I've been coming for about 6 months now it's an amazing gym two levels with amazing well working gym equipment tons of great classes with great coaches I would highly recommend coming here if it's in your price range The only downside for me is they close at 10pm I wish they would be open at least till 12midnight It's more of an older peoples gym I am one of the younger people in there so that does make sense on why they probably close it at 10 but they do open back up at 5am Over all 8/10 would recommend read more
