    A plate!

Plove is in the location formerly occupied by "Julia's" (Julia Pitts) Southern Comfort restaurant off Dixie Highway in a small Fairfield strip mall. The atmosphere and decor was very inviting and traditional Russian (Uzebekistan) fair, which was delectable! I picked this spot for me and my friend Viveza. Me: Plov (THIS WAS SO FREAKING DELICIOUS! OMG) Fresh pressed fruit punch (cherries, berries) Barak soup (with beef dumplings) Her: (She loved everything, especially the mojito) Lamb Kebab Russian Moxnto (Mojito) Lentil soup What great food!!!! Did I mention that it was "I, I, I, I" who picked out the place???!???? Just go! Get everything WE had, and a few other food stuffs!!! Viveza's separate review: Plan a visit now! The taste of the food. Nothing short of exquisite. Flavors abound yet they're beautifully and dare I say, lovingly balanced. Close your eyes with a mouthful of the Plov dish and I promise you'll be transported to the Uzbek countryside in the kitchen of a loving "Xola." (auntie)

What a wonderful hidden gem! We were looking for something different and good- and this place did not disappoint. First time we had had UZEBEK cuisine. The service was amazing - our server walked us through ordering an authentic meal. Super cute and comfy decor. Check out the shots of what we ordered. We will be back!

Such a blast! Delicious food and kind servers made lunch a joy. My friend and I never had Uzbek food before so we asked for advice. One of the first recos was the kabob page. We both had a lamb kabob which was perfect. Well marinated with a flavorful sear and a good size for the price. I also had the lagman soup. I was so impressed by the hand pulled noodles and the spices in the broth. The dining room was also beautiful. It's not every day that i eat lunch lounging on a couch.

We went on a Friday night and although they had a reservation for the whole restaurant at 8 pm, they were able to squeeze us in. The food was good with big portion sizes and the atmosphere has fun decorations inside.

This restaurant is excellent. It is clean and the server was helpful in explaining some of the dishes. We started with Mantu, the dumplings were a perfect combinación of lamb and beef. My daughter ordered a Quazon Kabob and I ordered the Osh Plov. Both dishes were very good. There was a plate of salad and a basket of bread. Way more food than we could eat. Really enjoyed our meal and would not hesitate to recommend it.

So I came here with my son and his fiancé, for dinner after they looked at their new to them home that they're looking at purchasing. I found this on yelp and decided we needed to try it for dinner. We walked in and was immediately greeted taken to a seat that was basically three couches put together with two tables in between and a couple of chairs at the end so very comfortable very uniquely decorated on the inside, but I liked it. The service was amazing. The young lady that took care of us was very prompt and very helpful. She did miss one item that was ordered on our order for dinner, but they took it off the bell and trust me the person had way more food than they could eat anyway, because she ordered some soup as well as eating off of her future husband's plate and sharing some other items. I will admit I have no idea what I ordered. I just know it was beef with rice carrots beans, I think was in there, but it was amazingly delicious. I ordered bread to go with a meal and they brought out a huge loaf of bread that we all shared and I ended up ordering two more to go home one for me and one for my son and his fiancé. I will say that I'm very happy I came in here. My son ordered fish and he said it was delicious. My future daughter-in-law ordered a soup and she said it was delicious. I got a fruit drink. I think it was and it was quite tasty. My future daughter-in-law got hot tea, which she got a pot of and enjoyed overall, there was five of us sitting there for dinner and the bill came to just over $100 for everything including the take on bread and I'm gonna say that's not a bad price for the amount of food that we got and eight and took some home so very impressed. I would definitely come back again. Highly recommend this location if you're anywhere nearby and you like Uzbek style food.

No idea what we ordered, but everything was amazing! We asked our waiter to surprise us with menus items (we like to eat family style) and everything was to die for. The service was super good considering choppy English. Every item was fresh and full of flavor. Definitely worth the stop! Always support local

Somsa, Plov, Tomato and cucumber salad

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered plov, somsa, and green tea and it was all really delicious. The meat in the Plov was really tender and the carrots and raisins added great flavor to it as well. We ordered the tomato and cucumber salad that is typically eaten with plov and that was a cool and refreshing addition to all the meat and rice being eaten. We also ordered the Uzbek National Bread which came out warm and a was a great start to the meal. The service was great and I really loved the atmosphere inside the restaurant. The decor was really nice and even the couches to sit at added such a great touch to the place. They also have a photo booth area at the entrance where you get to take pictures with traditional clothing and accessories which was really fun for the group to do! If you're looking for Uzbeki food or even Turkish food I would definitely recommending The Plove out!!

Ok Fairfield fam! If you live in Fairfield and you haven't been here yet, you need to stop what you're doing right now and go eat at The Plove! Yes, even today on Thanksgiving, they are OPENNNNN!!! I've been here twice and I regret not coming more often. The food is absolutely banging and the service and ambiance are wonderful too. This restaurant outclasses its humble strip mall Dixie hwy location!! I brought my vegetarian friend here the first time we stopped in and there were SO many options. Even though kebabs & meat are featured heavily on the menu, there's a myriad of lovely light and veggie dishes to choose from. My favorite is the light salad, which is actually not very light at all - it's chunks of fried eggplant with cilantro, onions, tomatoes and a very creamy cheese in a sweet sauce. It's a bit reminiscent of general tso's lol but it's SO much better. We noticed that they do eggplant very well here in multiple dishes so if you're an eggplant fan like me, you'll love it here! Of course we did also try some meat in the form of the restaurant's name, the traditional plove. This is a rice & meat dish with carrots (? idk what they are tbh), chickpeas, barberries (I think lol) and it has some cinnamon & other spices in it. Clearly I'm clueless but this is so delicious. Great to share with the family. Actually we found all the dishes to be very sharable. I'm looking forward to all of my future experiences here and I hope you will support this absolutely incredible local business! They deserve it! Thank you so much for being open on Thanksgiving!!!!

This place is truly a hidden gem in Fairfield! Non descript on the outside with plenty of parking, once you step inside, you are surrounded by gorgeous furnishings and beautiful colors everywhere. It's a cozy space that is beautiful and warm. The food is equally as lush and delicious. I tried the layman soup with handpulled noodles and beef, delicious, comforting with subtle depth of flavor, the crispy cheese bored, the awesome falafel appetizer and the traditional somsa. Don't forget the bread!! The service was quick and really nice. Do yourself a favor and support this amazing local treasure.

This place is within walking distance of my office and I never knew it was there. True example of a hidden gem. Had lunch there and was completely blown away by beautiful and vibrant setting, the amazing service and the explosive flavor of the delicious food. We tried the Somsa, several Kebab's and the most delicious dish I've ever had, the Lagman Soup. So many different flavor profiles. It was mind blasting. I hope this review reaches a lot of people. This is one restaurant I personally want to stay around for years to come. I can't wait to try something else on the menu. Definitely a repeat offender.

The sort of place you wish for, great food, no bs, iykyk kinda place. Would recommend any of the soups.

A welcome addition to the area. I was really excited and curious when I saw most of the dishes were Uzbek. The staff were very accommodating and courteous when I'm sure a lot of people aren't used to the food. They provided some recommendations and we went with the cheese borek, the mixed appetizers, the beef stew, and a lamb gyro. Really delicious flavors and definitely worth a visit!

I came back again with a friend and they did not disappoint…read more We got the Chaykhana steak, lamb chops, salad w/ tomatoes, beef plov, meat manti, and honey lemon tea. Everything here was really good. The plov had so much flavor I almost ate the whole thing (it's a big portion). The service and ambiance was great as well. They are very attentive.

This was our first experience with Uzbek cuisine and we were here several months ago. I didn't…read moreeven know there was such a thing as an Uzbek restaurant, but since then I have learned much about the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is one of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world. I bet you didn't know that. Anyway, hidden behind a drab exterior is a beautiful restaurant with soothing decor and very comfortable seating. The booths are hung with rich curtains (tied back) and the atmosphere is so enchanting. Very much an exotic foreign feel. We tried numerous dishes: Manti were hearty dumplings which we very much enjoyed. The borscht soup was tangy and refreshing and just what I anticipated taste-wise though I never had borscht with meat before. Plov was really delectable, tender shredded meat over comforting, delicately seasoned rice. I loved the little hard boiled egg. For me the highlight was Kavuna Lagman. I'm a noodle person and this dish checked all the boxes, plus topped with thin strips of fried egg! Of everything we tried the only miss was the Shurpa soup, which contained huge chunks of pot roast style meat that was tough and chewy although the broth was delicious. We were the only non-Uzbek people in the restaurant (which started to get pretty busy on this early Sunday afternoon) other than one girl who came to pick up a takeaway order. But we felt so welcomed. The waiters were very kind and attentive. One of them was lacking in the English department but the other stepped in to help us with questions. We really enjoyed this dining experience and looking forward to more.
