The atmosphere had a relaxed elegance without feeling fancy, and after coming straight from a loud reception, the calm setting with gentle music was exactly what we needed. My colleague and I both ordered the chicken kebab dinner, and it was exceptional. The food was flavorful and tasty, the chicken was moist and deliciously seasoned, and the steamed vegetables were cooked perfectly without being mushy. We also enjoyed the Turkish tea after dinner, which was recommended to help with digestion. It was a strong black tea served in the cutest little glass cup with a handle, and we finished every drop. My 2 sons brought me here for Mother's Day. We were seated immediately & our friendly server brought us a carafe of cold water. The ambiance is nice but the tables are a bit too close together for my taste. We ordered the Appetizer Sampler for 2, the Chef's Mixed Grill for 2 and Cabbage Rolls. We loved the appetizer, especially the hummus. We also enjoyed the mixed grill but it would have been nice to have a serving fork for that platter. None of us cared for the cabbage rolls. The hummus is amazing. You can taste the freshness. The bread it was paired with was delicious. They bake the bread there and it's served hot and crispy. I ordered the cokertme kebab. The beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The crispy potatoes were nice but got soggy in the sauce. We also got the Shepard casserole. This was lamb with rice. My friend enjoyed it. Definitely worth it. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bulgur pilaf was excellent and I prefer that over white rice. My appetizer was lentil soup and it was thick and tasty. Great flavor and piping hot. We both had the chocolate baklava for dessert and it was fabulous. Although it's "technically" in a strip-mall......the strip-mall is very near the Kenwood Town Center (a very upscale shopping venue) so it's top-shelf all the way. A lunch combo is offered for a reasonable price. I started with the red lentil soup, while my wife had the hummus (both exceptional) Next, I went with the Lamb kabobs and my wife did the chicken kabobs (again, both were wonderful) Both of these were served with a Bolger pilaf (new to me) that I fell in love with. To top this all off a desert of baklava was included with the combo. The wait staff was pretty attentive. I'd reviewed the menu over and over before getting to the restaurant. There were many things I wanted to try, none of which were on the lunch menu. Not to worry, the full menu was available. That said, I was drawn to their lunch special which offers three courses of limited selections for a very reasonable price. This is where I landed. Bread and red colored dipping oil was brought to the table. The bread was dense and the dipping oil didn't provide a distinct flavor. It was okay. For my first course I opted for babaganoush. This was a dish I planned to order and I was pleased it was an option. I ate it with the bread and it was very good. Fresh, chunky and tangy... it was a great start to my lunch. My second course was the Doner Kebab. The meat was tender and was served with a thick, white 'sauce'. I use the word sauce lightly because it was more of a paste. Whatever it was, it was a nice complemented to the lamb and beef. The white rice was white rice. It seemed out of place, though I included some with each bite. I didn't add anything to the flavor of the dish. The small salad was forgettable. The third course was dessert. We all wondered what it would be. It was rice pudding with a thick skin on the top, so it didn't seem super fresh. That said, it had a fine, not too sweet flavor. This was my first time trying Turkish cuisine. The food wash delicious- I got the chicken kebab and it was very flavorful, tender, and the leftovers even reheated nicely. While the flavor was good, it was a bit dry. The worst part of the experience was the portion size to price ratio. Each plate is about $25 and the portions look like they are trying to ration food. The waiter brought us water and took our order. I love when a restaurant just gives water as if to encourage people to drink more water. We ordered: appetizer sampler for two which was a generous portion and we enjoyed sampling each various appetizer option. The inside of this restaurant is a very nice and clean vibe and great to be in. However, I was extremely disappointed in the portion size especially for the price of what I paid. I ordered the chicken Adana kebob and it came with one skewer and a very little portion of their "rice" and a quarter of a tortilla which was $30. Loved returning to Truva and try new things! As vegetarians there are a handful of items but all very flavorful. We got the cold mezze sampler to share and falafel. Also enjoyed Turkish tea and coffee and topped everything off with delicious baklava. The sampler looks small but is super filling and perfect for sharing. If you haven't had Turkish tea or coffee it's worth a try however keep in mind the coffee is a little gritty. You are welcomed with Turkish bread and a garlic tomato oil for dipping. We thought the food was amazing. Had the borek as an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the spicy chicken saute - and it was spicy but perfectly so in my opinion. Others had the Turkish pizza, the lamb pizza and the doner kabob. Everyone loved the food. While we saw so much hustle and attentive service for other customers, our waiter didn't seem to know what he was doing. He asked to take our dinner order right after we sat down, without asking us about drinks or appetizers. While the chef and owner/mgr stopped by, our waiter never really checked on us except to drop the bill. He did not bring the dessert cart like other waiters did for their tables. So we didn't order coffee or dessert. That being said, we gave him grace and chalked it up to him being new or nervous. We will be back as there are many other dishes we'd like to try! read more

There isn't as much competition in the purely Turkish category and perhaps they might adjust the menu to focus on Turkish cuisine more specifically. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and personal throughout the meal. I had and shared several dishes with my buddy on this trip. We enjoyed everything we had. The lamb chops were seriously good. Perfectly seasoned and very tender. The okra stew was okay. Nothing to write home about but good enough to get again. The piyaz bean salad and the spicy ezme were both brilliant. You can see and taste every individual ingredient in the piyaz. Super light, well balanced, and simply delicious. Best I've had in the US so far. The spicy ezme is more of a cold spread for breads, though I enjoyed it plain. This one's an adventure. There's hidden layers of flavor that keep every bit an adventure with some spicy distraction. The Turkish tea was delicious, but I wish it came unsweetened. As someone who is diabetic I had to sip this throughout the meal to not let the sugar hit me all at once. The Turkish coffee was great. I got it alongside some caramelized pudding, which was fantastic as well. I would eat this exact meal again any day. read more
