CONSIGNERS BEWARE!! I had a similar situation to Patty's…read moreexperience (previous review). I dropped off 3 bins of items on March 11th. Dina went on about how much she loved everything. I had more items but we decided to schedule a later date to drop off for the rest. Both Dina and Nicole seemed really nice and friendly. They told me I'd receive an emailed item list in a little bit. Several weeks went by and still no list so I called. I spoke with Nicole on 3/31 who told me that her mother-in-law (Dina) was supposed to have done it and will get her to do it "now". She also told me at that time that I had made over $100 and again, how much they "LOVED" everything. Weeks go by again and still no item list. Dina then calls on 4/27 to reschedule our next appointment to a later date. I say sure but I'm still waiting for my item list (everything is still amicable at this point). Dina then turns and starts getting hostile. She told me she sent the list already and to check my junk mail, to which I replied I have and it's not there so can you please send it again. She said she did already and fought me on just resending it. I also asked how much money I have in my account at this point thinking it should be more than the $100 I was told in March. She said it's $75. When I ask how that's possible she couldn't give me an answer and got even more angry with me. My response was this is horrible customer service, and again please send my item list. That night I get an email saying they no longer want to consign my items. I tell them I agree, now can you please send my item list. The emails went back and forth for days with them refusing to give my item list. I finally received it on May 2nd! They then tell me I need to pick up my items immediately or they will donate them. This place is a scam. I don't know what it's like to shop there but consigning with them is a NIGHTMARE!!

The clothing selection is fill with dated trends, and not in a charming, vintage way--just the same…read moretired styles year after year. Or they OVER buy on a trend from the 2000's....There's no variety. There's nothing that makes this place worth a visit. Most of the staff is just as uninspiring. They offer a halfhearted greeting when you walk in, but beyond that, they're completely disengaged--mostly standing around with their arms crossed, looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this store couldn't care less about their employees--or their customers, for that matter. Unless you're looking for outdated clothes and indifferent service, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. Go shop at the family owned business Richard's in Greenwich much better selection, happy employees and OWNERS!

Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Back to Santa, did I mention this guy is the real deal? He claims that he runs a bird seed shop in the off season, lol. Yea Kringle, I ain't buying it. I had to ask someone if I could put my items in the dressing room as she didn't even acknowledge my presence and that I was holding more than 1 item in my hand (the store was not crowded at the time), When at the counter purchasing my items (which totaled around $300) neither said "thank you" - they both seemed bothered or weren't even courteous enough to say "have a nice day" - they both just turned around and left the counter without a word. I am in retail myself and found the whole experience a total "turn-off" - if we treated our customers that way, we would have no customers. Very unfortunate - I will think twice about returning to shop at Apricot Lane Boutique.
