We reserved Plushumi as a couples activity for a friend's birthday and had an amazing time! Although it seems fitting for just kids, Plushumi was very therapeutic for us. The plushie workshop is very hands on and perfect for an afternoon downtime activity. It's a great date idea and you leave with super cute pals. Christina helped us throughout the process and was so nice and amazing to work with. She guided us throughout the process and made this experience a day to remember. Everyone was very nice as well and stopped by to check out our creation. Definitely recommend! Great for kids7+ and can host multiple groups.

We were in the area for the weekend, and I wanted to find something fun and unique for my daughter and me to do together. I stumbled upon Plushumi on Yelp and managed to book the last available appointment for the next few days -- so I was pretty excited! Just a heads-up: Plushumi is located in the basement of the building, so you won't easily see a sign from the street. Once we found it, though, we immediately felt welcomed. The two ladies working there were incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful. They explained everything clearly, gave examples, and were always available if we needed any assistance. The first part of our appointment was smooth, relaxing, and genuinely fun. As later appointment times started arriving, I noticed some people came without reservations, which created a bit of a rushed environment. The staff stayed kind, gracious, and attentive throughout, but you could tell they were understandably overwhelmed trying to accommodate everyone. Overall, we had an amazing time. We left with the cutest plushies and added accessories at the end. It was such a sweet bonding experience and a perfect activity for quality time with someone you love. I highly recommend Plushumi and would absolutely return.

Went to Plushumi to celebrate our friend's birthday. I made a build a bear for my girlfriend years ago before and this experience was much more hands on and very customizable. You pick the color and what kind of animal you'd like from their sets. Whole experience was about 2 hours. The process was straightforward and simple with some sewing parts but the staff are friendly and accommodating to help you out. Christina was very helpful! Overall great experience and you leave with a new friend! I ended up doing a Beige dog. The add ons are the items your animal could appear to be holding. Those are additional.

Just celebrated our daughter's 8th birthday here and it was a fun and memorable experience. The workshop was structured. We had a party of 18 friends and girls were engaged the whole time. Each guest got to knit the body of the plushies, stuff them, and add all the facial features while the staff guided and supported with some of the finer sewing. Overall very unique and fun workshop experience!

Really cute date idea! Super friendly workers. The class is 2 hours long but only took us less than 1.5 hours. It was $68 for each plushie without the accessories. The accessories range from $10-18. I believe the strawberry was about $15 & the LA hat was $18.

Finding this place was pretty easy! I saw lots of instagram reels about this place and decided to give it a try when I went down to LA. I was a bit disappointed and I am removing a star because they stopped me from continuing to make my plush even though I still had yarn left. I went with a friend and they allowed the friend to continue past the point I was stopped at, so our plushies came out different sizes. I will say, paying for this experience then getting a plush that is smaller than what is on their wall display is a bit disappointing as it feels like I did not get what I paid for. Also keep in mind, any accessories you see cost extra and you do not get to make them yourself. You also need to go early enough in the day because they may run out of pre-made accessories. Overall, it was still fun to do and I would do it again. I just hope that they allow customers to make their plushies the same size as what they advertise on the wall.

Love this place! Came here for a party and the workers are so great with showing everyone how to make their plushie! Carlee was so great with our group and so sweet! Such a fun and unique experience!! My friend and I found this place through Instagram and immediately booked before spots filled up. Location was clean and bright so plenty of picture opportunities! Very beginner friendly for all ages. The staff was helpful and patiently waited as they guided us through every step of the process. Reasonably priced for everything provided and what you do! Will definitely come back and recommend to all my friends :) Sidenote: When booking the workshop online, you choose the color and animal ahead of time in order for the staff to prepare the materials so choose wisely! This plushie shop is so cute and interactive, my friend and I had the most amazing time here. The employees here are super kind and helpful, instructions were very clear and there's plenty of time allotted to finish the experience. You reserve your spot online, as well as choose which animal/color/add ons, and are given 2 hours to complete your plushie. I took my daughter and 2 friends for her birthday and it was a great time. Jasmine was so attentive and helpful during the entire process. I made 2 mistakes and she was able to fix it for me with no problems. My daughter made a white dog but she wanted the ears longer. Jasmine accommodated us and made it longer because she wanted to make sure my daughter went home happy. She even offered to hold our creations since we were going to go get lunch and it was raining. I had so much fun at plushimi, Jasmine was so patient and helpful during our visit and even though we had no experience with sewing or crocheting before the process was so easy and enjoyable !!! It definitely took a bit longer than I initially thought like the whole two hours so I recommended eating before so you can really focus on your plushie it truly was a one of a kind experience and so amazing to see your plushie come to life !!! Great experience, the ladies were wonderful, patient and kind! Overall the kids had a great birthday experience! It was quite pricey BUT I think all things considered- the detailing and thoughtfulness of the workers there and the unique team building experience made it more worth the price. I really enjoyed my experience with Plushumi ^_⁠^ they were quick to respond to any questions I had on their website, making an appointment online was also super easy, and they send you an email the day before reminding you of your appt and letting you know where you can park! The studio was very cute and you get to wear a pink little apron! The staff and co-owner were very accommodating to me when I showed up, which I really appreciated :) The process was simple enough and we felt a lot more confident in ourselves at the end with our finished plushies, made from our own magic hands! It was a great overall experience, but the staff/co-owner really made the whole experience for us. The whole time we were there (thank y'all again...), they were very kind, encouraging, attentive, and helpful while guiding us through the whole process. My Fiancé took me here as an early Christmas gift and I liked both the aesthetic and how friendly the staff was here. We were overlapped in a time-slot with another family but Mars was able to give her full and undivided attention to us and was very helpful when something got stuck or we needed help. I would definitely recommend this spot as a date or family outing. They also do birthdays, parties, etc. I will definitely consider returning to make another plushie! read more

Our kids ages 2 to 7 all had a great time! There was so much to do, from walking through the river and doing water play, to sand play in the pretend lake, to crafts (that we didn't have time for), to climbing equipment, and building/engineering/physics activities. Outside, there are two adjacent outdoor kid's playgrounds. Near the entrance they have juice and fruit vendors and a balloonist. Entry fee is very reasonable at under $50 for family of three with in-and-out privileges. Inside the museum, its like 80% outdoor exhibits and 20% indoor. They have an onsite cafe and food vendors throughout. The outdoor exhibits has a park area dedicated to physics. You'll see fans, pulleys, etc. to help your child appreciate scientific concepts while having fun. They also have tie-dye stations, climbing structures, tricycle race tracks, live music, and my son's favorites - the sandbox and pretend farmer's market and veggie patch. I noted lots of friendly staff dressed as camp rangers working with the kids and maintaining order with a smile, which is huge. Inside the buildings, you'll see traditional kid activities like toy trains, quiet reading areas, legos, and even more climbing structures. Looking forward to coming back next time we're in the area. The in-and-out policy is nice since they have lots of nearby offsite restaurants in nearby Old Pasadena.

That itself gives this historic structure a miraculous feel because it survived desegregation in an apartheid state that still tries to hide/deny its ugly white supremacism. Nonetheless, the racist, capitalist model of diminishing public infrastructure because they provide benefit to non-whites equally, prevails. The changing rooms are a shambles. Ironically, in many poorer nations where I have used municipal pools, they have smarter, more updated locker rooms. (This reveals the character of what passes for national culture.) Enough now with the disparagement and let's pivot to this historic pool. The length is perhaps Olympic size but the deep end of the pool is in the middle. It's cordoned off into three sections across, allowing a lap swimmer to benefit from the deepest central third, although it is not a full 25 yards across. The water is much clearer than in Glassell Park and perhaps it's because it is not as heavily used? I found there's a solid jet stream of pumped water underneath leading to a kind of "rip tide" effect in the pool. You have to work harder to get across because of the undercurrent. It's quite enjoyable. The lack of trees around this pool makes the sun feel harsh, but the nearby Gold line train gives it a feeling of being part of a vibrant metro region. As well I was smelling street tacos from a nearby truck, very aromatic I was delighted to find this pool during one of the extended brutal heat waves of triple digit temperatures that are commonplace now thanks to climate change. However, consistent with the history of white colonizers being callous about the welfare of non-white citizens, and overriding the unique realities of western geography in favor of conformity with norms from the northeast, the City of LA Parks and Recreation department feels the need to shut down pools like this one during LA's *hottest months* of September and October. In other words, yes, the City of LA would rather people of this area suffer the heat than keep this pool open to allow for some respite for vulnerable human bodies. LA's hottest months are always September and October. City of LA Parks and Recreation: We don't care. Finally, note there is limited parking in a lot which exits into a mega-dip in the street side curb that will crack most sedans' chassis... Call 818-804-7570 about hours.

He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

They don't give any training and expect you to know everything and get annoyed when you make mistakes but it's bound to happen with no training.
