We really enjoyed our brunch today. There were 6 in our party and we sat outside. We tried MD crab cake Benedict, lobster Benedict, breakfast nachos, breakfast bowl, breakfast tacos and the southwest skillet. The nachos are said to be in house made fresh but Tasted leftover which was a bummer. The chicken in the bowl was burnt on the side. The crab cakes and fried green tomatoes were awesome and so was the lobster Benedict. All and all a good experience. My husband and I came for brunch on a Sunday and were sat immediately. We did the bottomless mimosas for $20 and it's totally worth it. We started out with the fried deviled eggs and oh my goodness. The food was great & so was the waitress. My only issue was that I felt like the Food was a little slow coming out & they should've kept the bottomless mimosa's coming. Lol My Party was so busy talking amongst each other that no one really realized how long the food was taking until someone asked, where is our food? The food began to come out shortly after. First and foremost, I ate there last fall and the food was amazing. There was a server running her butt off and she made sure we had everything we needed!!! She asked us how our food was and OF COURSE it was amazing!!! Went back after new years and the service was terrible!!! Food tasted terrible. Over salted and over priced and cold by the time it got to my husband and I'd table. Didn't mind the prices before as the food was worth it. I asked to speak to the supervisor. A lady named Erin??? I'm not certain so don't quote me on that. But she was very dismissive and very rude. I told her my complaints and asked what changed she had no words for me. We had such high hopes for The Point. We came here on a Saturday for Brunch with friends that were in from out of town. We were seated right away. About 10 minutes later the waitress got to the table. We ordered drinks and appetizers. When the drinks came they orange juice was extremely watery. The second round of drinks were okay. The food came to the table right after we got the appetizers. Two of the guests eggs were not cooked correctly and had to be sent back. The tables food did not come at the same time. My fiancé sat there without food for over 10 minutes while everyone else was eating. The steak that my fiancé ordered was extremely over cooked. She did not eat it. I came to The Point for restaurant week and overall it fell short of my expectations. I liked the variety the menu offered but the quality of the food was subpar. The lobster bisque did not have the usual flavor or consistency that one would expect and it really lacked seasoning. As for the steak I asked for a medium rare but received an almost well done steak, the dish has so much potential because the compound butter on top was great. Sigh, it is with sadness that I rate the point in towson 3 stars. I came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with my husband truly excited because I truly enjoyed the one in fells. I called before arriving to ensure we'd have a table and was told that we could walk right in. When we arrived we were greeted and able to sit right down. Unfortunately the table was shaky, no biggie. There was another option to sit at the bar on the other side of the entrance so we moved. We were greeted by a bartender about 10 minutes after sitting there although it wasn't busy. My husband ordered bottomless mimosas which also include screwdrivers, natty boh and sangria and we got avocado toast as an appetizer. After about 25 minutes we still hadn't received our toast which I didn't think would take that long but we remembered that the kitchen makes everything from scratch and we extended some grace as it was a full restaurant. After another 10 minutes and seeing many meals come out another couple sat at the bar and they were greeted by the bartender who shared with them that the kitchen closed because they were so backed up. ... um, confusion is me and I am her. Why weren't we told that our food was going to be a while because of this? Upon hearing this and still not having avocado toast after 45 minutes I asked the bartender if our food was affected and she shared that our food should be coming out but she will check on the toast. After checking she realized that she forgot to actually ring it in. About 5 minutes later our food came out. I got the steak and eggs and my husband got the sausage and biscuits with chicken and eggs as a side. My food was luke warm at best although decent, the steak sauce which I'm glad I talked to the bartender about was strange! It was their "homemade" sauce which tasted like cocktail sauce, still confused about that. The service was terrible and they charged some random gratuity amount that was inconsistent when I checked everyone's check. When I spoke with the manager Joe, I was told they charged gratuity on the event charge. This made no since at all, especially since the event was pre-paid. I was charged $8 gratuity on a $20 check. I'm looking at filing a complaint. Who knows how many people they are ripping off. No eight dollars is not going to break me but allowing a business to to take advantage of a customer is horrible. I came to The Point on New Years Day for Brunch. They had a Pajama Brunch Theme, which was super cute and fun. I order the Bloody Mary which was really good! But make sure you like Spicy because it has a bold kick to it. I ordered the lobster Benedict and it surely did not disappoint. So, so good! The popcorn chicken as an app is also fantastic. Had a good meal and good service for brunch. But the aftermath ruined an otherwise good experience. After I paid, the waiter caught up with me outside and said she had given me the wrong bill and I would have to pay again. She assured me that the previous charge would be reversed and I would not be charged. So you can guess from the 1 star review that didn't happen. I ended up being charged for both meals (over $200 combined with both checks) and had to deal with a lengthy dispute process to get this cleared up. Mind you this happened on 2/9/20 and I am just getting my credit on 3/5/20. When I found out that the incorrect charge was not dropped from my bill I called the restaurant and requested to speak to a manager. The manager was not going to be in that day and I was assured he would call me back the next day. When that didn't happen I called the following day and finally got in touch with the manager, Mike. Mike - who was very short with me - cared more about handling his dinner rush (on a weekday mind you) than to handle my concern. He was adamant that the charge would be reversed even though I explained that I confirmed with my credit card company that the charge was not pending and I was billed the amount which appeared on my statement the following day. He eventually got back to me via email and verified that I was, in fact, charged both times. He said he would contact American Express to help me to resolve it and I provided him the contact number and case reference number. However, the credit card company was never able to settle this with him (I guess he didn't call after all) so I was eventually credited (finally!). Thankfully AMEX was able to get this resolved because I received zero cooperation (or sympathy) from the merchant. And thankfully I made these transactions on a credit card because had I used my debit card I would have been accountable for this purchase and lost my money until it was resolved. If this somehow happens to you and you are charged incorrectly, DO NOT pay twice. If you underpaid then demand you only pay the difference or else you will be trying to correct their mistake for almost a month. read more

Ever since walking past this place last summer and seeing that someone had finally decided to renovate the old "Crease" spot in a cool industrial-modern style, I waited with bated breath for it to open. I'm not sure about you, but I'm tired of Towson's swarm of ho-hum chains; I'm all about quaint, local spots (Bread & Circuses in the heart of Towson is our go-to). I suppose you could technically call The Point in Towson a chain since they have another restaurant in Fells, but it's more "local" than say, Bone Fish Grille or Cheesecake Factory. Anyway, I'm off the point. We'd gotten back from Thanksgiving in Atlanta and decided on a Saturday casual date-night dinner and I picked The Point in Towson. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, but we decided to sit at the bar. The atmosphere was awesome.... again, very urban/industrial, modern. Casual-upscale as I'd like to call it. And they sunk a lot of money into this renovation.... exposed brick walls, warm stained wood, gorgeous tiled bathrooms, industrial lighting and beautiful river-rock quartz bar-tops, this place was modern, clean, cool, and cozy. Luke and Bailey were our bartenders and we could tell they were seasoned professionals: attentive, made great drinks and were both witty. They also knew some history about both the building as well as the fact that it used to be an infamous famed Towson hot-spot (The Crease); they were also pretty savvy on the menu as well. I ordered the Charm City crab-cake sandwich; Tim ordered the Buffalo Fried Chicken sandwich. The crab-cake was okay; nothing special.... I actually liked Tim's chicken sandwich better than the crab-cake.... it just had way more flavor. I tried a cola Manhattan which was amazing. I'm not a big whiskey drinker, but used to drink Manhattans in my 30's so I decided to give it a try. The Moscow Mules (Tim and my faves) were on-point. The place wasn't cheap, but what place is now a days? But in my opinion, The Point in Towson offers good food, service, drink, and atmosphere without the boring "chain" vibe. Not bad, we stopped by for brunch to check the place out. The staff are very friendly, our server was amazing, and the ambience like a sports bar. I thought the prices were a little high for the type of food, and the drink prices are a bit high for the area, $10-$15 for alcoholic beverages. Their brunch special for drinks aren't bad and they do offer a bottomless Mamosa and bloody Mary. I'm not a fan of either so I ended up getting something else not realizing it would be about 10 ish dollars, but it was tasty. 4 adults, a 3 yo and 2 infants came for Saturday brunch when the Point opened at 11. We weee seated in the left hand dining room and given a large table on the end to accommodate the strollers/car seats/highchair. This room was quiet and seemed more family friendly. The bar area was much more hoping and the other dining room was very rowdy, more of the bottomless drinks crew. I think they have thought this out well, being able to accommodate Towson families as well as College age groups. Our food was just OK, they actually forgot to put in two of our breakfast burrito food orders, a computer malfunction of sorts but were super apologetic and it wasn't a big deal. I visit here regularly. In a town filled with college bars and bar food, their menu is a relief. Their chefs are always changing it up with very creative specials. Some of my favorites are the breakfast bowl (fried chicken, gravy, their own hot sauce, eggs, cheese, home fries), and their grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. Sounds simple, but it's definitely a gourmet sandwich with pesto. My all time favorite though is their seafood club. It's so big it touches your nose when you bite into it. The decor inside is also upper scale and sophisticated. Definitely nicer than their Fell's Point location. When it's nice they have a small outdoor patio in the back with its own bar. Over all, if you're in Towson and want something other than motz sticks and wings, try this place out. read more

I've never been treated so poorly by restaurant staff in my life. I was one of three Black women in the establishment and us three were not only unfairly treated it makes me believe that the employees and management have no problems engaging in racist business practices. My sister asked for us to sit in the patio area and the waiter told her that we would be "making the couple uncomfortable" who was already sitting there. When we complained to the manager she gave us empty excuse after empty excuse for why they had two tables in the open air seating area and were only willing to seat one of the tables. The excuses ranged from them using the tables to "show the restsurant was open" to "the space was too tight to have servers walk by both tables." The space was indeed intimate but manueverable. And if they were so concerned about the space being tight, why would they have 2 tables in "such a tight space"? Make it make sense?!?! The manager also "generously offered" for us to sit in the back of the restaurant, which also, conveniently, outside. What is this? The segregated south???? I then asked the manager why she was wasting time making excuses for her inept staff instead of apologizing for the rude and racist behavior of her staff. The owner's son proceeded to enter our exchange and tell us that we "needed to calm down due to the children in the restaurant". There was not a child in sight. Needless to say, after this heated exchange with their inexperienced and racist staff, we left and took our business to an establishment that treated us with respect. read more

Also, the Dorito salad was awesome, the chip to lettuce ratio was heavily the chips.... yuuuum. We tried a bunch of the happy hour appetizers, mostly fried things, and had a drink. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, the funky decor, and the friendly service. It was pretty packed at 7 and people kept walking in the door so it seems like this is probably a favorite spot to spend the night. We decided to split our meals and share. The crab cake Benedict was so delicious, I ate way too fast and wanted more. The French toast was mediocre. It was served with this rum soaked raisins that we both weren't crazy about. Service was great! Our bartender was very attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed the pork wonton, seared scallops, jerk salmon, steak frites, ginger pot de creme, and the peanut butter cheesecake bomb. The building renovation is beautiful. The price is pretty high for lunch. They had the best (and saltiest) tater tots I've had in Towson, but the Smoked Salmon BLT I had was ALSO the saltiest thing I've had in Towson. Maybe they need to switch to nova from lox, but the combo of a Pretzel Bun (salt) with smoked salmon (salt) and delicious and well-cooked bacon (salt) there was no break! Even the chivey cream cheesey spread was salty! The tomato slices were ALL ENDS - no slices. Very weird. Hello; I just spent an evening at the point, and I went to meet with a few friends who waited a long time for their order. I ordered a beer that took 10 minutes to get delivered, and oysters. The place was nearly empty, and it took 45 minutes to get my oysters, a simple dish to prepare. Furthermore it took another 20 minutes to get my bill. Service and quality simply subpar. Decided to try brunch here for the first time, and I'm really happy I did. The food was amazing, literally loved everything I got(Funnel Cake French Toast, bacon, egg whites scrambled and home fries). They did take long to bring our drinks over, however the food came fast. I enjoy the Point whenever I visit. They have happy hour from 11am-7pm on Fridays. It's a chill spot. The staff are friendly and the food is ok! I went to the Point Towson this past Saturday with family to try to have an enjoyable meal. I assumed any place that charges $25 for a cancelled reservation must have something special going on. I was wrong! We ordered 2 of the gangster subs, one chicken and one steak, crab dip and selected what was described as a "slight up charge" for the Parmesan Truffle Fries. I'll start by saying the meat on both subs was tasty and the crab dip was as well. The subs could not be eaten as a sub because the roll was so dry it simply fell apart as you tried to eat it. The pretzel bites served with the crab dip were dry and tasteless as well. The slight up charge for the fries was $5 per serving which seemed extreme, but to be fair, I didn't ask at the time. We got the avocado toast trio as an appetizer . It came out super quick along with our second round of Bloody Marys. We have been to the point in Towson several times. The first experience was great and we really enjoyed our food, however the next was mediocre, and the most recent left a lot to be desired. We had a carry out order which had a lot of missing and incorrect food. Our Benedict's barely had any sauce and did not come with grits as they were supposed to, the og burger was cold and well-done not medium, and the stuffed french toast only had a thin spread of cannoli filling between 2 of the 4 slices which could barely be tasted. Hung around Towson for a friend's birthday on 5/12/18 and this was our first stop. I tried the watermelon crush and it was delicious! We also shared the soft pretzels and old bay-brown sugar wings. The pretzels were good, but not so soft though. But the mustard and cheese dipping sauces that came with the pretzels were perfect.
