There is a younger white woman who was wonderful and helpful but the one bad egg ruins it for me. We went in the other day because we are rescuing two puppies and taking them back mainland. We talked to the younger girl and she was so helpful, kind and shared a lot of knowledge with us. She was a five star employee and if she had been our only contact this review would be different. We grabbed one small crate because we weren't sure what size we needed and proceeded to the checkout. The old lady was there staring at us. Doing nothing. My husband said "I don't fit in the line because the crate is too big". There was also no one else in line at all. She still made my husband walk all the way over to where the line starts and then walk back over to her checkout station, basically walking in a circle just for her own satisfaction. Total power play. We let it go. We have been calling daily for almost a week now trying to secure the second crate we need so we can take the puppies with us. Every time we call this old woman answers and is so rude. She doesn't even check to see if the crate is available she just says call back later or check back every Thursday (which we've BEEN doing). Imagine my surprise when I went online right after calling her and the crate IS available. I've purchased it and pray they will actually pull it off the shelf for me, but I have no faith at this point. What a strange place to treat customers like this. She truly behaves as though she doesn't care about her job or the customers at all. Surprising from someone in the older generation. Do better.

Pohaku Grooming is amazing. We bring in two dogs at a time and they are in and out in about two…read morehours. So easy. Everyone is so kind to both us and the dogs. We have two Great Pyrenees and two Aussies, so we have tried plenty of groomers, even all the way to Kailua Kona. Honestly, most of those were nightmare experiences. Pohaku has been such a refreshing change. And the best part... one time we showed up early and our Pyrenees and Aussie were literally "coloring" with their adorable little keiki while waiting for us. I mean, come on. That alone deserves five stars. Truly the easiest, happiest grooming experience we've had.

They looked beautiful! Bathed, shaved , brushed, nails trimmed...all for a very reasonable price. They were happy and not stressed at all. Going to the groomer is one of those things that can put my dogs into a tizzy for days due to their elevated stress levels. When I picked them up, they were relaxed and happy.
