My family and I are devastated by the experience we had at Legacy Heights Memory Care, and I feel…read moreit's my responsibility to share what happened so that others can make fully informed decisions. After more than 15 years of caring for my mom at home with early-onset Alzheimer's, we made the incredibly difficult decision to transition her to a facility. Legacy Heights Senior Living Facility came highly recommended and we were told they had a Memory Care Unity. After visiting over a dozen places, we chose them based on the assurances we received about the level of personalized care they could provide. When my mom was admitted, she was stable--eating well (with assistance), drinking fluids through a straw, continent when assisted to the restroom every two hours, and able to walk short distances with support. We were told they could continue the same routine: regular meals, drinking 1 nutritional shake daily, hydration, repositioning, bathroom assistance, showers twice a week, and meaningful wakeful hours during the day. For the first week or so, things seemed to be going well. But slowly, we started noticing alarming changes. Staff began keeping her in bed most of the day out of fear she would fall from her wheelchair. They let her sleep through meals rather than waking her. The regular showers she was promised (and we paid for) did not happen because they claimed she was "more difficult" than other residents. And even when she was in her recliner, she was often left in a dim room with no stimulation--despite our repeated requests for music or TV. We addressed these issues repeatedly with Chris, the manager, through calls, emails, and in-person meetings. Each time, we were assured changes would be made. But nothing improved. In fact, things got worse. On day 30, we received the first phone call informing us that my mom "wasn't eating well." Just two days later, she was sent to the hospital. In the ER, we were told she was severely dehydrated, had a UTI, a kidney infection, and pneumonia. She passed away three days later. We understand that Alzheimer's is a cruel and progressive disease. But we also know--without any doubt--that the level of neglect my mom experienced at Legacy Heights directly contributed to her rapid decline and death. She was in their care for barely a month. This facility promised us they could give her the same care we provided at home. That promise was broken. And the consequences were irreversible. Please think twice before trusting Legacy Heights with your loved one. Our hearts are broken.

We have decided that this will be our home and a place to enjoy this state of the art community! They have a lot of great floor plans to choose from, we went with the two bedrooms with two bathrooms and it is new and spacious. We did our home work before we visited this awesome community and Inspire royal park blows the others out of the park for what they offer. The call bells stopped working and the facility failed to inform us that the call bells were not working when there was a covid outbreak in the facility in June 2024. My father experienced multiple falls and was not able to call for help. Due to the lack of care and the call bells not working, my father had to call 911 on his own. My father can no longer walk and is now in a nursing home on hospice as his health has declined massively from these repeated falls and lack of appropriate care. I tried to address this issue no avail with the executive director and corporate, but they refused to take responsibility and take seriously the lack of care and neglect my father experienced. They were non-responsive, only offering to refund his care fee for that time, which was not sufficient.

On the rare occasion we cannot make it by, Dad ends up falling from his chair because they do not put him in bed. At no time have they stated we should find a different facility (we have anyways because we fear for his safety), it seems they are just happy to take our money until we leave on our own. The paramedics have been called so many times they are beginning to question what the facility is doing. There are no activities for residents, the food is dreadful and the "leadership" hasn't said one thing about precautions they are taking to keep residents healthy since the Coronavirus disease started. Not one communication except a posting to the corporation's homepage. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this place.

Our commitment is to provide families with peace of mind - knowing that your loved one is comfortable, engaged, safe, and respected. Our competent staff, comprised of Certified Nursing Assistants, Med Techs, an Activity Director and Chef take care of everything - nutritious meals, medication management, daily housekeeping, hygiene assistance, and recreation. The home is staffed at all times and strictly adheres to a 3:1 resident to caregiver ratio. Unlike larger assisted living facilities, that means a maximum of six residents have immediate access to two caregivers.
