Whenever I visited, I was treated warmly, and my father was always resting comfortably in a clean room and a pristine bed, with carefully laundered, comfortable clothes. He had dementia, so he was unable to tell us how the staff was treating him (and never having been the type of person to complain) we had to take non-verbal cues. All the cues pointed to a staff that was both patient and caring. Trust was essential to us and something we considered heavily before deciding on a place for our beloved father. During his final days, our family experienced feelings that I cannot properly put into words here. Likewise, I am unable to express how sensitive the staff was in their treatment of my father. I imagine that they deal with loss on a regular basis, but never once did they regard our grief casually. My father was a kind, gentle, man and was known for his singing voice, his whistling, his love of jazz and his love of the Word. The staff made sure he was able to enjoy all these things during his final days. They all knew him by name, and said he was easy to care for and easy to care about. This was evident in their heartfelt farewell. You can not pay someone to care, and [care] is what they did here. Perhaps I have not adequately relayed, but in my heart I will absolutely, always appreciate every last member of this staff for giving of themselves so selflessly, when it counted most.

We decided to…read morevisit this facility because they offer the full continuum of care from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing. I really liked a lot about the facility and all the employees we met were super nice and helpful. The main dining room, bar, and lounge areas looked like a country club and indeed we found out that they have a happy hour that is apparently very popular. I liked the fact that the independent living apartments had patios & balconies. However, there were a couple of negatives. The main one was that the facility seemed a little dark & dreary inside despite the fact that it was a beautiful sunny day. I think it is because the facility was built a long time ago (The Carriage Club has been there for over 20 years) and they have added on over time. It's a shame, but we ruled out this facility because of the darkness. They really should do some remodeling to give the space a more contemporary bright & open feel.

The management cannot keep up with basic services such as housecleaning and do not offer a rebate for services omitted but already paid for. The food has become so mediocre to bad that many residents go out more often than eat in, eve though meals are provided 25 times a month. And the place is decrepit. If it did not cost so much to move, most residents would be gone. Worst of all, the resident manager, Melissa, hides away in her distant office so that she does not have to interact with residents.

From the beginning, many staff members made even the simplest requests feel like an inconvenience. It often seemed as though providing basic care was treated as a burden rather than part of their responsibility. Communication was consistently poor, and we always had to follow up multiple times to get answers or assistance. Unfortunately, the communication issues appeared to stem from the top. Our interactions with the Executive Director and the leadership team were often just as unresponsive as our interactions with other staff. It became clear that the lack of communication, accountability, and urgency started with leadership and trickled down throughout the facility. While it's easy to blame staffing changes or new ownership, our concerns existed before those transitions and continued throughout my grandmother's stay. One of our biggest concerns was medication management. There were multiple occasions when my grandmother was given another resident's medication, which is completely unacceptable. There were also several times when the facility ran out of her prescribed medications without notifying our family. Had we been informed, we could have easily brought her medications from home to ensure she didn't go without them. What hurt the most was the lack of compassion. My grandmother was hospitalized multiple times, was eventually placed on hospice, and ultimately passed away. At no point did anyone from Legacy Heights check on her or our family. We had to repeatedly ask for move-out instructions instead of receiving proactive communication during an already difficult time. I believe families deserve to know what our experience was like. Entrusting a loved one to an assisted living facility requires tremendous faith, and unfortunately, Legacy Heights did not provide the level of care, communication, accountability, or compassion that my grandmother deserved. To be fair, the facility itself is clean. If your loved one is largely independent and requires no assistance, it may be a suitable option. However, based on our experience, I would not recommend Legacy Heights to anyone, especially for someone who needs any care, medication management, or responsive communication with their family.

The only reason I give this place a 1 Star rating is because I have to or there would be no stars…read more I am not sure where I should start..... my father chose this place and was happy to live here.. things where okay for about the first year. After that first year sunrise went down hill!!! Way down hill... my father went to the hospital and family was never called!!!! The first call I got was from the hospital it self. A doctor calling me about what had happen. I had to tell the doctor I would call her back. I the proceeded to call sunrise to A) find out what happen to my father and B) why my family was never called. Of course there was no good reasons. They just did not do there job. This place is more then happy to take your money BUT once they go to the hospital the will continue to charge you for daily stuff even if they are not doing it.. I have pictures of my fathers room and how it sat dirty for two weeks. They decided to clean it up the day he was coming home.. how do I know??? Well my husband and I would stop by daily to check on his mail and keep a eye on his room. Picture 1 is of his closet ( I thought he was getting the care he needed but I guess not) pictures 2,3,4 are of his kitchen are were food was left on the floor and countertop for two weeks!!! The pictures speak for them selfs.Another thing you see is the major turn over in staff. I mean one day you think you know everyone and the next day all new staff. Another thing I noticed is my father was dirty when I picked him up as his clothes were too. I had spoke to the staff about getting the next level of care for him (which of course cost more money). O never saw the improvement on this either. Also the care director is EXTREMELY RUDE and when talking to her (she would not give me her name) she would never let me finish my sentence. If you care for your loved one's you will not put them here as they really do not care about the family member, they just care about getting a pay check!!! I would take my business else where if you are Reading this!!! BEWEAR!!!! Just read the other post!!!

Sunrise knows how to run these homes so definitely decided on your own.
