Given equivalent pricing to large institutional homes, would be surprised if they are not full within a couple months.

This place don't deserve the 1 star. My mother was admitted into this facility on1/9/2023 , for…read moreshort term rehabilitation , after her hospital stay. This was to help her to regain her strength in standing and walking. It was a horrible experience, because rehab never happened.My mother is in worse shape than before she entered. I continue to blame myself, because I normally would check out reviews and do a visit. I was also told by a medical professional not to put her here , because they're not on the hospital radar. That's a flag , I should have payed attention. My mother visited this facility about 15 years ago and was very pleased , she had two knee replacement's.This was her request to go back and I wanted to honor that. First of all no Care meeting, or can I say no meeting at all until I suggested that meeting through the hotline, this meeting happened 2 weeks of her being at the facility. Care meetings , plans are held in advance or day after entrance into the facility. The care plan is like a vision board for patients progressing .After they utilize all money on her insurance they're ready to put her out. I did my early Monday morning visit before I went to my office. About 20 minutes into the visit the social worker enter the room, told me that day and that visit your mother is being discharged today which happens to be Monday 1/23/2023. My response no, absolutely not. You're supposed to give me a notice before that happens, not a 20 minutes notice. In other words you putting her out because insurance had ran out. Now this is a 93 year old lady we're speaking of. I had to bring it to her attention that she has a UTI , not in her right state of mind and you're doing this. Still no meeting with the care team , only the social worker to tell me she's been discharged. At that point she said that she may be able to get her a few more days because of the UTI. I left and she called me back and told me she could stay longer because of the UTI. Later on in the week Friday morning 1/272023 , I received another call to say she was been discharged on Saturday 1/28/2023. This is not a 48 hours notice that's required to give to patient or the family. At that point I reached out to Corp. after several attempts to reach the director who would not answer nor return my phone calls. At that time , I spoke to Corp , who got in touch with the director and he called me after I reached out to them. He set up the meeting This was the worst , unprofessional meeting that I've experienced. You got the business office in the meeting asking me to pay money that I was not aware of the debt. You used up all the insurance, no rehab and just did nothing and she's the worst as day one , you're discharging her without the proper care. At Novant Health before coming to the facility, she could stand with help, now she can't. Old my goodness director and staff unprofessional. A pack of liars and people that look at your love ones as a number, not a loving person. Also fast forward my mother discharged on Saturday 2/4/2023. Before I went to get her another patient at the facility entered her room and touched her. A male at that. When I arrived to get my mother you got 3 nurses in another hall talking and no one in the hall where my mother room was located. If someone would have been in the hall , this probably wouldn't have happened. When you touch someone with permission that's assault on that person. Why in the world are you touching her arm anyway, she don't know you and she didn't invite you in her room. She's 93 so why are you in her room and why are you touching her , that my question to Mr. Director that said residents are freely to go in each other's room.My mother is 93 and a unknown man touching her is not allowed .How can you freely go In someone one like that , not so. When you touch someone without consent and that's assault. That's clearly what he did , I wonder what else was his motive. But for the director that clearly told me this man is free to roam the facility and go where he's pleased is a red flag. I can write a book about this place. Please run away from this place if you really care for your love ones. Short staffed and hiring from staffing agencies , one actually said to me why do do have your mom here, this place is ran horribly , poorly.. Your love ones are better than the facility , I never wants another family to go through this. This has been a nightmare for me and my family..

After that first year sunrise went down hill!!! Way down hill... my father went to the hospital and family was never called!!!! The first call I got was from the hospital it self. A doctor calling me about what had happen. I had to tell the doctor I would call her back. I the proceeded to call sunrise to A) find out what happen to my father and B) why my family was never called. Of course there was no good reasons. They just did not do there job. This place is more then happy to take your money BUT once they go to the hospital the will continue to charge you for daily stuff even if they are not doing it.. I have pictures of my fathers room and how it sat dirty for two weeks. They decided to clean it up the day he was coming home.. how do I know??? Well my husband and I would stop by daily to check on his mail and keep a eye on his room. Picture 1 is of his closet ( I thought he was getting the care he needed but I guess not) pictures 2,3,4 are of his kitchen are were food was left on the floor and countertop for two weeks!!! The pictures speak for them selfs.Another thing you see is the major turn over in staff. I mean one day you think you know everyone and the next day all new staff. Another thing I noticed is my father was dirty when I picked him up as his clothes were too. I had spoke to the staff about getting the next level of care for him (which of course cost more money). O never saw the improvement on this either. Also the care director is EXTREMELY RUDE and when talking to her (she would not give me her name) she would never let me finish my sentence.If you care for your loved one's you will not put them here as they really do not care about the family member, they just care about getting a pay check!!! After a stroke, she could barely walk or talk and with the loving care from the staff and nurse she is back to the person our family remembers. The seniors go out to lunch twice a week and there is always music and laughter in the building. My aunt is in a Sunrise in Maryland and she is doing fantastic as well. Sunrise knows how to run these homes so definitely decided on your own.

I really liked a lot about the facility and all the employees we met were super nice and helpful. The main dining room, bar, and lounge areas looked like a country club and indeed we found out that they have a happy hour that is apparently very popular. I liked the fact that the independent living apartments had patios & balconies. However, there were a couple of negatives. The main one was that the facility seemed a little dark & dreary inside despite the fact that it was a beautiful sunny day. I think it is because the facility was built a long time ago (The Carriage Club has been there for over 20 years) and they have added on over time. It's a shame, but we ruled out this facility because of the darkness. They really should do some remodeling to give the space a more contemporary bright & open feel.

The management cannot keep up with basic services such as housecleaning and do not offer a rebate for services omitted but already paid for. The food has become so mediocre to bad that many residents go out more often than eat in, eve though meals are provided 25 times a month. And the place is decrepit. If it did not cost so much to move, most residents would be gone. Worst of all, the resident manager, Melissa, hides away in her distant office so that she does not have to interact with residents.

One the things he said, was consistency is a priority for for Amada. That was not the case... We used Amada for seven months... In the beginning my father required 24 hour care and then he changed to eight hour care then back to 24 hour care... there was occasional consistency at best. I must give a big shout out to Janice and Jenny who are absolutely fabulous! Janice would work double shifts to care for my dad! There was no doubt that these 2 took great care of my father. However, on the other hand we had 1 caregiver fall asleep on the job and 1 that could not stay off her phone. My appreciation to Amada for sending invoices and notes to my dad's long term health care insurance plan. Brad generally responds right away and tells you what want to hear whether completely up front or not. Overall, I would give Amada 3 stars but Janice and Jenny deserve 5 stars!

We are early in our venture and I will post periodic updates. I can tell you from experience the questions one needs to ask. To this point it has been hit or miss. Somewhat disappointed but time will tell. I want to see how it goes over the next few months. ******************** Update 8/23/15 *********** A few months later and no changes in this facility. They have remodeled giving a great example of "Lipstick on A Pig". Poorly run. Medical Staff non existent. Concierge services are a far stretch from what one would expect from that position. When you need something it is always, "Have you checked for them" so and so place. No I have not. Here is a suggestion, how about showing some initiative and see if "YOU" can find them. This is especially true when attempting to deal with someone regarding medications and doctor orders. Ideally the staff could provide a medical director name yet the turnover rate makes that difficult. I have waited several months to post this follow up. I trust you can find better accommodations for your loved ones. There are many I would recommend above this. If not for cost and logistics I would find another facility tomorrow.
