Its only fair that I post my recent experience with Yuri and Uco Construction and update my review…read more There were some issues this spring with my stained deck after the snow had all melted off of it but, after Yuri got back to me, he and his employees got to work and they have restored my faith in his company and the quality of work that they do. My deck was re-sanded and re-stained and they even replaced some damaged wood planks that were in bad shape. It is a pleasure to see that there are still companies and people out there that care about the work that they do and ultimately care about keeping their customers satisfied. Yuri is a man of his word and he took care of whatever issues that we had and I highly recommend his company. Thank you Yuri for being a gentleman and a good business person. Nobody is perfect out there and the key to being good at what you do is how you take care of unexpected issues that my occur in business and I know that Yuri and Uco Construction is a company that you can trust. They stuck to the schedule and they stayed on budget. I made a couple of changes along the way but with each change, Arturo made sure that I was aware of any additional costs. He also helped me make decisions about colors and railings. I had a couple of horrendous experiences with contractors in the past so I was really hesitant going into this project but I am so happy that I chose this company. I whole heartedly recommend Hickory Dickory Decks and hope to be able to use them again in the future. If you are thinking of hiring them, do it! You will not be sorry.

I wanted to get it fix for long time but couldn't get a good price. It took me so many years to find someone where they had good pricing. Finally, found Forte Railings and they gave me a very good estimate and I was very happy with the price. They were also very productive and quick! They then applied paving/jointing sand everywhere after all the weeds, moss, etc. were power-washed away. Top quality work! When quoting me, Charlie assured me I didn't pay until I was satisfied with the results. I hired Dino to build a raised deck and stairs as part of a larger landscaping job. After the…read moreproject was scoped and a deposit was made Dino arrived to pour his footings. After seeing where the footings were going to be we decided to only relocate the stairs instead of extending the deck. Dino wasn't happy with this change and decided that the stairs and the footing would be still be $12K (out of $17K)! Insulted, I asked him to leave the site but he insisted that was a fair price. He even called his sub-contractor on speaker phone to quote the job. That sub contractor put out a fair price of $700 for the days labour plus 2-3K in material. Yet, Dino still insisted he would do the stairs at 8-9K at best. At this point Dino had a large deposit so, I told him to hold it until we had time to think. A couple weeks later I asked if Dino could use the deposit to reface the deck. He said he would do it and he would send someone over. I asked him to come by first to understand what needs to be done, he refused. A couple days later materials and a sub contractor arrived to do the work. This was some of the sloppiest work I've ever seen and after showing Dino videos he agreed and was apologetic for "sending his worst guy" and that he would remedy. A couple weeks later he sent another planner over and after some chasing down Dino no longer wants repair the job and wants to return the money but keep back $1,300 2 footings (jacked up price) and $500 costs related to the mess up. Dino refuses to send money otherwise which is where we are now.
