I met up with my mom and her boyfriend at The Post Pizza tonight. I called them this afternoon to find out if the video games were working, for my 5 yr old, they said yes. Walked in, it was super dark and dirty looking. I was not even greeted when I walked in. Only 1 game was working, the claw game. I also took a peek at the front patio, just dirty and not touched for a long time. The east side of the dining area was closed off and the ordering area was closed off with extra pizza boxes on the floor. I recall going to this pizza place after a softball game when I was young, I was very disappointed the way the place looked and felt. We left and went to Shakey's Pizza down the street, what a difference, seriously it's like night and day. My son had a blast, they had a game room!!!! read more

The food is awesome. The prices are high but definitely worth it. I've been going there for forever since I don't live that far from it. I have never had a bad experience there at all. The staff is very friendly. It's a good place for a birthday party or any party since there is room to do so. The environment is very kid friendly. Not a single thing that a kid shouldn't see. We were really excited to hear about the re grand opening because our family is from El Monte and it is a local spot in the city. When we got here it was extremely busy good thing we had ordered ahead. It looked to be at Max Capacity, it was an open concept with a bunch of benches and people. There's no way I could have eaten there it was just too noisy. Granted it just opened back up yesterday so everything was pretty unorganized. The food is pretty good. I only have had pizza. However, my review is about the inside of the restaurant. We were visiting family in El Monte so decided to drop in, based on the reviews. As we walked in, the place looks really rundown and dirty. The seats on the boots are torn. As we walked to our table, there were large groups of gang-looking people who stared my husband and our cousin-in-law down. Behind us, there was a pool table in which there were at least 4-5 gang members looking us the entire time and whispering things to each other. One of them came behind my cousin-in-law and bumped into him. My in-law apologized respectfully and we sat to wait for our food. The staring never stopped from both groups of men at the facility. As a female, who was there with a one year old and a other small babies, ranging from 5 months to 12 years old, i did not feel comfortable. It seemed like an eternity to get our food. Once we did, I asked for to go boxes and we went back to eat our pizza elsewhere. This place did not give me a good vibe. I would advise anyone with family, who is looking for a great family environment to look elsewhere. I am giving Three Stars, only because they are presently closed, and due to a few managerial issues they need to change before re-opening. They have the potential of being a Five Star pizza joint... I've been going here off and on since 2002 -- good hot sandwiches and pizza -- and for goodness sake, keep the Coke and dump the Pepsi, is all I really ask for. The place shared better days; despite being presently closed (temporarily, I believe), the place needs(ed) a new makeover from the former dated interior and from the old 'localized' clientele and atmosphere; it can (had been) be a bit intimidating at times--especially around 'game time'--trying to keep a distance from some rowdies and staying clear of any potential hostility or fights due to 'fanatics' -- not a good mix with alcohol and games for a family joint. And one night, I was certain a group of young local 'loco' Chola's, who were giving my wife hard eye stares, were planning to jump her outside... luckily, it didn't happen--but scary none the less. Other than that; the pizza and sandwiches were relatively good, and the service average; not entirely professional or cordial, but just OK. Not to be entirely disrespectful, I often felt the place was ran by some ex-cons or reforming gang-bangers--but if it were for job training or rehabilitation, good for them--just scared me a few times. The place has great potential to become a wonderful family pizzeria, and a unique 'landmark' mom and pop pizza joint, though it has to change its management system and style; to be more open, polite, courteous, professional, efficient, and most importantly, respectful, tolerant and inclusive to all guests within our community... which I feel it was not. The pizza was burned and hard I also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and that wasn't Pleasant. It looked like they just opened a jar of Alfredo sauce and dumped it on the pasta. My family has always supported this place, I had my 11th bday party here (many moons ago)but ever since the change, "the post" it's been so inconsistent in taste and service. Occasionally we get our order and it's really good but I'm noticing now we're having more bad experiences when we get our food. About 2 months ago I came to pickup my order and was told by a rude man that my order isn't ready. 15 minutes had gone by no update nothing when our pizza was supposed to be done over 20 minutes before. my boyfriend and I sitting on the bench right in front where I could see the kitchen. I see them stacking pizzas on the table and finally several minutes after waiting someone asks my name and goes through the stack of pizza that had been sitting there for 10 minutes and pulls my pizza out from that stack. I was so livid cause I had literally been forgotten when I was sitting right there! The only reason I didn't post a review was cause the pizza was good that day. I ordered delivery the other day and it was over cooked and hard! I keep asking myself why we keep ordering here when it's super inconsistent. Pizza is great. Service is bad. We stopped going here due to the service, but wanted to support local businesses during the shut down. Workers seemed to have no dedicated task assigned to them. They are not organized. Not respecting social distancing. People were eating and drinking at the bar. Took an hour to get one pizza and it was cold when we got it. That tells me it was sitting up there for a while. Would love to return for their tasty pizza when they get more organized. Maybe pay online. So we can pickup and go. The Post is excellent for the community and has a lot to offer, before covid The Post is an excellent establishment for sports the atmosphere is phenomenal and always shares a memory in my heart, now going through this pandemic there's been some changes, furthermore this establishment practices great social distancing and a safe/ healthy environment. The nastiest pizza I have ever had in my entire life. The wings were undercooked. We were the only people there and they took 50 minutes for a small cheese and 6 wings. The pizza didn't even look like pizza. There was some sauce and barely any cheese it was undercooked at well. Perhaps the cook was drunk as well. How this place is not out of business is beyond me. Before I start my review. My family moved here in 1976. We started to order from here around the summer of 1977. It was the best pizza in town a Lil expensive but always great quality. Now... I understand it's under new ownership but it's not the same. Bad service .ordered today at 1450 (250pm) my order didn't come until 1620 (420pm) then the guy didn't have change. Still waiting as I am writing this....lmao. anyways the days are gone for this place. I have a feeling the people of El Monte who lived here for twenty years have notice.
