They try to charge extra for things we didn't ask for. Like a bottled water. And extra avocado on ceviche. When we mentioned they charged us for things we didn't ask, the girl argued and said we did ask for those things. We definitely did not. She brought the manager out to the table and he was rude and aggressive asking what the problem was and I explained to him what happened. He wanted to argue instead of fixing the problem. Server isn't working to serve tables but they are busy mingling and gossiping about customers. Went over there with a group of family. They deliver all of our food in about 10/20 minutes but my SIL food never came out. We all finish our food and waited about half an hour more her food still never came. We knew the waiter did it on purpose because they didn't like us. It was our first time there and when we walked in the straight up roll their eyes and start gossiping in Spanish about us. We know Spanish too but whatever. The were rude when we ask what happen to her food within the ordering, us eating, and the 30 minute waiting for her food. They told us they forgot. We made a complaint and told them the situation. We paid our food and didn't put tip. The food isn't bad. A few years ago, I went to El Perihuete and I loved it. I hadn't been in a while because it was in the South Gate area and that's a good 35-40 minutes from where I live. A few months ago, my coworkers ordered ceviche and it was soooo good! I asked about the place and have been going since. Just the other day, I was told that El Marisquero was actually El Perihuete. No way! Except this spot is in El Monte like 15 minutes from where I live. I have picked up ceviche for my family and I a few times since then. Everyone loves it. It's a whole little package too. It comes with a bottle of Tapatio, saltines, and an entire pack of tostadas. I'm not too fond of the tostadas so I usually just swing by the market about a block or two away to get different ones. The service is great. They are very attentive but I don't feel like anyone's breathing down my neck either. Nobody walks up mid-bite to ask any questions. The ambiance is super chill. The place is nicely decorated. It's just a great spot overall! I'll continue coming here on a somewhat regular basis. Especially while it's still kinda summertime.
