Wet "Shredded Beef Burrito" is what was ordered, but rcvd a Steak Burrito with extra rice instead. ‍
    Cory G.

I thought this place would be so bomb, especially since it's in El Monte but it lacked flavor and the burritos are filled with rice, not the quality ingredients you'd expect. I heard there's other location in Downey that might better but I haven't tried it yet.

Great customer service! Love how I'm greeted with such a warm welcoming. Food is always fresh and tasty. Cool layout and where the bar is located. Cool vibes.

Killer margaritas and shot flights; the Bar is trendy. Happy hour is a must. This place is quickly becoming a local favorite. Portions are decent. I love the nachos and quesadilla here Service is a hit or miss, but it's okay. When you have good company, the chips and salsa are fire. It is very spacious and great for large parties.

Ambiance and happy hour was lit. The service was good and they accommodated our large group. We stayed for hours.

This was my family's first time eating at this establishment. We normally visit the W. Covina location. I decided on the Aguachiles because I love shrimp and I wanted to try something new. My go to is always the fish and/or shrimp ceviche. The portion seemed small but they were tasty. I like my shrimp to be a bit more cooked. Service was great! And the ambiance was relaxing. We did not sit in the bar area. We sat in the dining area. I would definitely return to this location. I probably would not order the same dish because of the portion size. I think that would have been better as a lunch size option.

The menu book is very animated LOL so many photos and options. Their guacamole is delicious! It is a must try! The price is worth the portion and the price. I ordered the salmon with rice and shared with my husband. It is very filling and they cooked the salmon perfectly. I think next time I will try their burrito. It is super big and looks tasty too. The service is amazing and friendly. Their service time is fast. Parking is free. www.serenescreen.com

As I entered this restaurant I absolutely loved the 2024 New Years decorations. I also loved that they had so many televisions everywhere, and some of them had the Star Wars movie on them. This place is not that big but it looks like it can hold a lot of people. Everything looked clean and well decorated. The service we received was great! Our waitress had a huge party of us to deal with and she handled everything perfectly. She made sure everyone was taken care of at all times. I just wish I had gotten her name because she was amazing. Now to the food. I seriously thought the food was way over priced for what you got. My shrimp cocktail was $19 which is way more than I pay at better restaurants. There also wasn't that many shrimp in my cocktail. Although it was good tasting, it wasn't worth the price for me. My husband ordered a beef taco plate. We noticed that the beef taco had hardly any beef. It had a teaspoon worth of beef inside the taco but it was mixed with a ton of onions to make it appear full of beef. My husband hates onions so this didn't got well for him. The beans on everyone's plate seemed like canned beans. I saw a bunch of dishes that we ordered and none of them seemed worth the prices. Everyone agreed. Although the service was great, I definitely wouldn't return to this location because of the prices. The food just wasn't worth it for us.

A friend and I started coming here to try the happy hour specials in the bar. Our first visit was in April. The food is tasty and Edwin and Alex in the bar area are great and very attentive servers. But I also noticed that every time we were there, the door to the women's restroom would never close completely or not at all. It appeared they had tried to fix it, but the problem persisted. On May 8th we decided to stop by for happy hour and once again service and food were great! But the women's restroom door couldn't be pushed closed at all this time. So I asked to speak to a manager. Guillermo Bonilla came out immediately. I informed him how great the food and service were in my experience, but also asked why they couldn't fix the door. He explained they had attempted several times but that the problem would come back. I shared my discomfort and he quickly reassured me he'd take care of it. Well, immediately within 10 minutes, workers were there to fix the problem. Thank you Guillermo. I appreciate when management actively listens to their customers and takes action. I love to spend my hard earned money where I feel customers are appreciated and that we matter. This place has become one of my favorite spots!

It's just off one of the Main Street. I haven't spent anytime in this city so everything was all new to me. One side is the bar and counter while the other side host three pool tables. There's also a couple of hi top table in the middle. They did offer happy hour everyday from 4-8 pm with free pool. It wasn't that busy when we walked in. Bartender and a couple people utilizing the pool table. It was pretty chill but I'm sure it can get busy later on in the evening. Drinks specials offered were quite nice for the price. We also tried their spicy margaritas which was great. Bartender knows his skills. Also, a quick round of pool. The vibe was mellow and chill. I remember being entranced by the red boat exterior whenever we passed by. Sometime after 2007, the Galley moved around the corner on Rosemead Blvd just south of snow-topped sister Clearman's North Woods Inn. A driveway to the parking lot and a small, very cute fire station separate the two. The signature boat is still out front, but is decorative only; the Galley is now a huge space behind it and is pretty much a family-friendly sports bar. There are massive TV screens, plus some smaller ones, and much sports photos and memorabilia throughout. And there are a number of classic model boats, including the Titanic! The tchotchkes are of course mostly LA-centric and professional; I didn't see any collegiate items, although they surely show big college games in season. I remember The Galley service being cafeteria-style, and the two "tracks" you'd move your tray along are still present, but now only accessible to staff. Diners place their order with a person or at a kiosk, and you are given a number to place on your table, fast-casual style. There is a full bar with bartender and barstools. There are also cocktail menus on all the tables, but I don't know if you order these at the bar or if someone comes around to take you order. The food menu is classic and broad, with apps, salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken and seafood options. We came for DineLA lunch, just as we did at North Woods Inn a few days ago. There were 3 options for lunch and 2 for dinner, all serving 2 people, plus 3 Family options that serve 4. We chose the Galley Combo for lunch and ordered it to go. It included 2 sandwiches (4 choices--grilled or crispy chicken, beef dip, Philly cheese stead), fries to share and 2 sodas. We also tried their beer-battered zucchini sticks and onion rings. We both got the beef dip sammy with everything (cheese, peppers). It was nice, as was the dipping jus. The wedge fries portion was pretty large, easily shareable. The sodas are refillable if you dine on-site. The zucchini sticks were identical to those at North Woods, but a smaller portion, lesser price and no dipping sauce. The onion rings were okay, not very crispy but the batter was light. Niggle: we were charged $.50 each for the ranch and blue cheese dipping sauces! Overall a nice meal. I'd dine on-site next time for the free soda refills, ketchup, mustard and malt vinegar. There are many items I'd like to try.

When I'm back home and if there is a Dodger game on TV (for those who don't know getting Dodger…read moregames isn't the easiest thing to achieve), my first thought is to go to Clearman's Galley. They check enough boxes for my TV sporting event viewing needs. 1. There is a 360 degree offering of TVs. (Great for Sunday Football viewing.) 2. They generally play the sound/audio for the "main" game. Granted the sound is a bit muffled but not many venues offer the audio to a sporting event. 3. The beer is cold and the chili cheese (steak) fries hit just right. And there is plenty of decent bar food available. 4. And there is plenty of parking. (Compared to Old Town Pasadena, the parking situation is extremely favorable.) I've been going to the Galley since there were family style/picnic style seating with sawdust on the ground. This is a great locals hangout. And I was able to convince my boogie friends to come as well. #win

We each had about two beers, so we were shocked when the bill came out to $160. That's when we were told there was a $30 minimum per person. The problem is that nobody mentioned this when we walked in. If they had been upfront about it at the door or before we ordered, we would have turned around and gone somewhere else. It felt dishonest to wait until the bill arrived to explain the minimum. Businesses should clearly communicate policies like that before customers are seated or place an order, not after. I left feeling misled and cheated. I won't be returning, and I hope they start being transparent with customers from the beginning.

Apparently this magical minimum only gets mentioned when it's time to pay. Had she told us upfront, cool. We would've either ordered more or gone somewhere else. Simple. But don't make up the rules at the end of the night and expect people not to question it. And mind you... THIS IS A DIVE BAR We ordered two 6-packs of Corona that were supposed to be $6 each. We're not exactly at some luxury rooftop in Beverly Hills with bottle service. Maybe this explains why the place was completely dead when we walked in and seems to be going downhill. If your business strategy is surprising customers with random minimums after they've already ordered, the empty seats are starting to make a lot of sense. It's not about the $30. It's the principle. Be upfront with your customers. First and definitely last time here.

However, my experience here raised serious concerns due to what felt like misleading and inconsistent business practices. We found this venue on Yelp for a birthday party, and initially everything sounded great--almost too good to be true. Thankfully, I kept text messages documenting what was discussed, and we had others who could confirm those conversations. After placing a deposit, the experience quickly raised red flags. There was no formal service agreement when I requested one to confirm terms, and pricing began to shift leading up to the event--hourly rates, equipment rentals, and additional charges were inconsistent from what was originally communicated. With the event only a few days away, we felt we had no choice but to move forward despite these concerns. During the event, there were also uncomfortable interactions between the owner and my guests, including issues around cleanup and unexpected implications of added fees that had never been discussed. Final charges (outside of the bar tab) were informally presented, which further reflected a lack of professionalism and organization. After the event, upon reviewing everything more carefully, I realized I had been overcharged compared to what was originally agreed upon, which was extremely frustrating and reinforced my concerns around transparency. Most concerning, photos from our private event--including images of children--were later posted publicly for promotional use without our knowledge or consent. When addressed, the response we received was dismissive and did not acknowledge our concerns. I took time before writing this to ensure I was being fair and objective. Unfortunately, the pattern of misleading communication, lack of clear agreements, and post-event overcharging made this a very negative experience. If you do consider this venue, I strongly recommend getting a detailed written agreement covering all terms, pricing, and policies in advance. Based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this location.
