    Welts from this stupid footboard!
    K B.

Rooms small, over crowded with furniture, one of which has a door that's falling off. All mismatched. Bed is very comfy, but has a useless footboard, which projects too far into the crowded space. Getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night resulted in a nasty bruise. Broke the skin! Room had wet carpet near the bathroom door, which hasn't dried two days later. Musty, mildewy smell in room. Five lights in room, but still too dark to do makeup anywhere but bathroom. Bathroom is nice and has large counter. Towels small and not absorbent. Hotel towels aren't usually too plush, but these were poorer than what I expected. Buffet breakfast decent, even for vegetarians. Either the folks next to us were quiet, or the walls are very sound proof, which was a nice surprise. Good views on the 10th floor.

Stayed at this hotel for a wedding reception and it definitely has some good and bad things. Pros - The price: $159.00 a night made it one of my cheapest wedding hotels for the season. - Breakfast included with the room! It was a pretty solid breakfast spread as well. - Parking free with overnight stay. - Very centrally located - Free shuttle around town - Clean room with good AC and free wifi - Refrigerator in room Cons - It seems to be the place to stay for weddings and as such there was always a ton of lobby traffic and elevator waiting - Deadlock on our door had been ripped off - Safe in several people's rooms did not work which seems unsafe (no pun intended) - Lack of bedside electrical plugs. I know this sounds weird but no plugs next to the bed so I had to charge my phone in the bathroom - Hairdressers also didn't work for multiple guests so we had to run around sharing driers between rooms - Bridal suite missing a hook to hang the dress on - Alarm clock USB charger broken in multiple rooms - The thermostat is so confusing - I was one of the only guests in our bridal party to figure it out so I went room to room turning it on. That seems like it shouldn't be such a process, right? All in all probably the best place in town to stay for a wedding but they could do with a check of their appliances and maybe figure out the security issues with the deadlocks and safes.

Black coffee. No milk provided. Had to ask for coffee even though it was on the table.
    Daniel V.

Dirty chairs and outdated furniture is the highlight. The food... omg... the food is abysmal. Chicken was inedible as was the ham. Potatoes were meh as was the Caesar salad. Bartenders were great and service was mostly good. No one wanted to serve coffee so it stayed black without milk. Cake was like the Sahara dessert. Not an ideal wedding location. Their sister location Anthony's is superior.

We understood there was issues with the air conditioning and hot water, but Sharon and George did everything in their power to try to make everything else in our stay as wonderful as possible. They made sure staff accommodated us with portable air conditioners and fans for not only us but also the other guests who came and stayed overnight for our big day. They had us situated in their best suites possible to get ready in the morning and Sharon would periodically check in on us and ask if there's anything else she can possibly do. They also made sure that after our wedding ended and we all came back to the hotel for a little after party that they had the appropriate amount of bar staff and drinks supplied for us and our guests as we enjoyed watching the Knicks win a championship. What started out as unfortunate wound up turning out to be the best day of our lives. Thank you to the staff at Doubletree for helping us turn a not so good situation into a weekend I'll never forget for all the best reasons.

If you've never stayed at a Home2Suites by Hilton, they are one of my favorite of Hilton's brands. The rooms are always well appointed and spacious and the interiors have a modern feel. For my stay, I stayed in a king suite, which includes a nice sitting area, mobile desk, large screen TV, kitchenette (with refrigerator, dishes, dishwasher, sink, and microwave), and convenient closet for hanging clothing items and dresser for folded items. The staff here work hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, including texting a few times to check in throughout to ensure you're enjoying your stay. Like most Hilton's, they have a snack shop in the lobby area with a self serve check out (where you can charge it to your room or to your card). I appreciate this so I can get a little something to eat on days where I'm spending a lot of time in the hotel working. The parking lot is well lit and felt safe. I was able to park in front under lights on both occasions that I stayed here. Get to it!

The lobby is beautiful, well lit with both natural and artificial light and spacious. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. We did not have to pay for parking, although I did read a review by a Yelp reviewer that they paid for parking. My wife and I were in the area to visit my parent's grave sites and one of my sisters in nearby Millbrook, N.Y. The hotel has two levels with an elevator. The room we stayed in was spacious with a separate room with two beds, large dresser and a TV with a sliding glass door leading out to a large courtyard. The main living area had a chair, small sofa, desk, a TV and a dresser with a small refrigerator also with a sliding glass door leading out to the courtyard The courtyard was large with tables and lounge chairs to relax outside The room was clean with lots of natural daylight with newer carpeting and did not smell musty like some hotel rooms can. The room and bathroom were both well maintained. In the lobby is a restaurant called The Bistro. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer. The restaurant serves both breakfast (a la carte) featuring Starbucks coffee and dinner. Meals are not included with stays. There are numerous tables available to eat at. There is also a nice lounging area in the front lobby with a TV and simulated fireplace. For added convenience, there is a small desk with a computer and printer if needed. The hotel has a very nice exercise room with several treadmills and weight lifting machines. This location is located on busy Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with many nearby restaurants and stores as well as the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a very short drive from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. It is known for teaching some of the world's best chefs. The Institute offers tours and an opportunity to eat at their restaurant. If you're interested in history, you can visit both the FDR and Vanderbilt museums which is about a thirty drive from the hotel. My one peev with the hotel is that there is only one ice making machine on each level. Which means that you would have to walk across the entire hotel if the room is on the opposite end. I easily recommend staying at ths hotel.

Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.
