Spa is one of the best!
    Renata G.

Fantastic spa! Definitely on my top list. You fill out a questionnaire before your service and mention your areas of focus, pressure type, etc. then you're shown around the facilities and given a locker where you find a robe, towel and slippers. Once you change, you can enjoy the pool and check out the complementary snack and beverage station. They had an earl grey tea, infused water, bone broth, house made granola bars and trail mix. And it's pool side:) The massage! -- one of the best I've ever gotten. The bed is super comfy and heated if you request that. I also generally get cold and the masseuse offered to put a heating pad on me as well which I loooved. She also listened well and focused on the parts that were most problematic and used medium pressure like I requested. I was beyond relaxed after the treatment. After seeing the products they sell at the spa, I'm confident to try their facials one day. I actually bought a lotion from Biologique Recherche while I was there. Great options if you're into skincare. The pool facilities are heated and well kept. There's indoor pool, outdoor pool, two jacuzzis, dry sauna and wet sauna. I'll say that the saunas are not hot enough for me..maybe they weren't working properly that day but I walked out of the wet sauna bc after 10min I wasn't warmed up at all. One annoying thing.. There's an airplane that kept flying over the outdoor pool and people were jumping from parachutes in the distance. Cool. But the noise when you're relaxing isn't. I thought it was unnecessary to take that route especially when there's wilderness all around and more than enough space to take a little detour. I recommend Wildflower Farms for a stay or a day visit. Btw! They do have great food. Their restaurant Clay is really good and it's all farm to table. I left a review for Clay on its separate Yelp page. Check it out if you're curious!

Dinner at Clay. This was the sauce mixing for the hanger steak. Also pictured is a trout dish, special of the night.

Would give 10 stars if I could. We were at Wildflower for a weekend getaway. The resort is magical. Love the spa. The massage was one of the best ones I've had. We dined at Clay 3 times. Every dish was absolutely meticulously curated and well presented. The staff are all extremely accommodating and would ask for your names and remembers them. We love the salmon tartini on the breakfast menu, the hanger steak and egg dish (must order) on the dinner menu, and the shakshuka on the brunch menu. Would definitely come back. Book the house car, they have a partnership with Mercedes and you can test drive GWagon and Maybach SUV. They serve bone broths at the fireplace and we had about 10 of them and had to get the recipe. It's too good.

Absolutely amazing spa and restaurant. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly and inviting. We spent the day for my daughter's birthdays. The spa services were exceptional. The relaxing salt pool with delicious drinks as you wait. Lunch at Clay was exceptional. Finishing touch of the absolutely delicious peach crisp for the girls!! The fire pit and couches to finish off the afternoon was amazing. The views even on a cloudy day were beautiful. Thank you for a beautiful day

You can visit without staying at the resort. Patio space is beautiful and enjoyable. Just a relaxing atmosphere. There's a restaurant and a gift shop. Prices are bit too high for my taste for some of the items. Vegan ice cream was delish. Seasonal cobbler is was actually disappointing, undercooked. Atmosphere was worth the drive.

This review is for the restaurant. AMAZING. I looooooved the decor and the vibe. It is absolutely beautiful in there. The fried chicken was so good! After our meal, we got cappuccinos and sat outside by the fire pit - they had blankets! Also stopped by the gift shop which was also so chic and cozy.

There are not enough words in the human vernacular to describe Wildflower Farms. It is the epitome of romance and class and beauty that you don't even realize you need in your life. But you do. Run experience the most beautiful place under our Gunks.

I didn't stay here as a hotel guest, but I came for their restaurant, Clay. The ambience was beautiful with views of the mountains in the distance. We planned to have dinner here, but ended up being too early so we ended up having "snacks" at the bar. The drink list changes every few months since they use local, sesame ingredients from their farm and garden. I ordered two mocktails and they were both amazing. The "snacks" were big and fulfilling. We ordered the hummus plate, the pretzel and charcuterie board. The hummus plate came with seasonal raw vegetables from the garden which tasted delicious. To top it off, we also got the burger which was incredibly and cooked perfectly! The staff there is amazing. The bartender was attentive and really sweet. There was another bartender named Matt who was finishing up his side work for the day, but was making great conversation with us. He knew a lot about the menu and filled us in on history about the farms and environment in the local area. He made us feel very comfortable and at home. Our visit was just perfect and I can't wait to come back with friends and family who will also enjoy this place!

This place is fabulous. Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Great views, trendy place, great ambience and everything delicious. Drinks, and all the food we ordered were fab. The service was absolutely awesome. I have to come back here, just loved it!

My friends and I were passing through on our way to the Catskills and I was so glad we did because this resort location is breathtaking. The food and drinks at The Clay restaurant were amazing. We heard the breads are made in house and if you are a guest you can even bring fresh eggs from the onsite hen coop to the restaurant to have them cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the farm to table items on the menu. The amazing fireplace was a plus! Special shout out to Kelly Holden and her team. They took such great care of my group of 5. Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality!

Wow! What an amazing property! We came here on a rainy Sunday to have brunch and we knew it was going to be amazing the moment we stepped our feet here. Super cozy vibe and warm next to the giant fire place. Menu was very simple but amazing brunch selection. We ordered Shashuka, olive oil pancake, and burger. Shashuka: 3.5/5 Flavor was good but unfortunately eggs were too overcooked Olive oil pancake: 5/5 Amazing slightly crispy on the bottom and thick. Maple syrup was a tad bit sweet as it was drizzled on top of the berry compote. I would order this again but next time I would ask the syrup to be on the side Burger: 5+++++/5 Best burger ever with the best thin fries ever! I highly recommend this! Black angus pattie was cooked to medium perfection and worked really well with sweet lightly toasted buns Service was really good and overall super pleasant experience. I would def come back for dinner and hopefully stay here one day.

An amazing community location. The vibes are on point, and the sage pancetta fries are incredible. I come with friends and cards and we sit by the fireplace. They have trails you can walk and picnic on, which I can't wait to do during spring. They have free valet (when I went no one could drive stick tho) and they give out reusable aluminum water bottles when you leave. Love love love it here!

The absolute perfect day trip/weekend getaway! I didn't get to stay at the property as this was only a day trip but the location and facilities are incredible. The staff is super nice and all the food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend making a reservation to dine indoors if you can otherwise the wait isn't too bad and goes by quick while you grab a drink outside. Can't wait to be back soon!

***Hidden Spot*** Amazingly beautiful!! Rooms are comfortable and beautiful! Perfect place to relax. They even have a swimming pool to cool down the summer heat. Restaurant is beautiful and food is amazing! Chief food presentation is artistic. Employees are friendly and well organized.

Yes,…read moreRocking Horse Ranch is more expensive but there is an endless amount of activities for the kids to do. We came on the coldest weekend of the year but my kids had a blast skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, pony rides, arcade, game room, playing laser tag, swimming in the pool, the outdoor hot tub, and the nightly shows. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

While they are a bit older than the resort's main target audience, it ended up being a great fit, especially since they had never been horseback riding and hadn't skied before. Everyone had a great time. We stayed in the main building in a room with two queen beds and bunk beds. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable with soft mattresses and pillows. Temperature-wise, it was funny, my son and I were warm, while my wife and daughter were cold, so I guess that means the room temperature was just right. One thing to note: the walls are thin. You can definitely hear noise from nearby rooms and above. Since this is a family-focused resort, that's kind of expected. It didn't bother us, but if you're looking for total quiet, this may not be the place. Since it was midweek, there were discounts, and they even offered us on our last night an extra night for and even more discounted rate. We were ready to head home, but I would absolutely consider staying longer next time. The resort is all-inclusive, and the food was solid overall. * Breakfast was your typical buffet--scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, etc. They will cook eggs to order if you ask. * Lunch was buffet-style as well and changed daily. Not amazing, but it got the job done. * Dinner was my favorite meal and felt a bit higher quality, with multiple courses and limited menu options (which I actually liked). * Dessert was fun, especially the ice cream machine. One thing I noticed is that the food is served at a kid-friendly temperature, which took a little getting used to. I'm guessing they do this so kids don't get burned. The activities were the highlight. Skiing was fantastic because it was almost empty, there were only a few other people on the hill. Since I hadn't skied since the early 90s, it was great to have the space to fall a few times without worrying about others. The staff was extremely helpful and encouraging. The hill is more like a bunny slope, but honestly, it's perfect for beginners. If you spent a few days learning here, you'd feel confident going to a bigger mountain. Horseback riding was also great, and since it was midweek, we could have gone multiple times a day. The indoor/outdoor heated pool was really nice, and there's even a waterslide. A lot of the resort seems better suited for summer, and some things were closed for winter, but we came mainly for skiing, so that didn't bother us. The staff deserves a lot of credit. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. There's a saloon downstairs where they run games at night and offer a free drink of the night. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available. One small downside: when the dining areas close at night, soda machines aren't accessible, so you'd need to use vending machines (machines were coin only, so I couldn't use my Apple Pay), which felt a little odd for an all-inclusive resort. But, you can grab drinks to go while the dining room is open. On our last day, they let us do a late checkout since no one was checking into our room. We were able to grab lunch and head out without rushing, which was really appreciated. Definitely a lot more things I can talk about, but these were just the stand out things I remember. Overall: Rocking Horse Ranch is a great choice for families, beginners learning to ski, or anyone looking for a relaxed, all-inclusive getaway--especially midweek when it's quieter. It's not luxury, and it's definitely kid-focused, but it's fun, comfortable, and well-run. I'd absolutely go back.

Once I booked it and asked around I realized that Mohonk has a huge following especially for the mystery weekend. I was excited to also learn that there was an Edward Gorey art exhibit! 2&1/2 hours from my house, not a bad drive! Check in time was at 4:00 but we got there early so they stored our luggage and said that they would deliver it to our room and call us when it was ready. We got a quick bite in the bar area which was not included in the weekend but we were starving! Then we looked around and went to a healing bowl meditation in the spa area. It was so relaxing, a great start to the weekend. They called us to come get our key and we went up to the room. It was Victorian looking with a balcony that had rocking chairs and 2 beds. Very pretty. The bathroom was big and had a walk in shower. It think it was a handicapped room. I didn't request one but when I called to make the reservation I inquired about how difficult it would be for a person to get around with a walker so perhaps they took the hint. The resort was massive!! And also beautiful to look at inside and out. It was also extremely clean with fresh flowers all over the place and little nooks to sit in to look outside and take in the views. The mystery weekend was so much fun. It was a play in 4 parts and by Sunday at 10 am you had to submit your guess as to "whodunnit". Just like a real life game of clue. There was also a thick packet of puzzles and games to try to solve by looking all over the hotel at the artwork to solve them. We ended up skipping that packet because we wanted a more relaxing experience. We did participate in the tabletop escape room which was really fun. We also skipped an afternoon tea on Saturday that let you interact with the characters and ask them questions to help try to solve the murder mystery. Instead we went to the spa for 2 different meditation classes. We repeated the sound bowl from the day before and also took another one which was part lecture and part meditation. I think we were supposed to choose between the mystery weekend and the regular stay which included the classes because there was so much to do besides participating in the mystery activities that we couldn't get to any other resort activities without skipping the mystery activities. We loved the mystery activities but decided that next time we would go for a relaxing spa type of stay. As far as the food, it was delicious and a lot of it! There was breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner. We opted out of the breakfast and went to brunch both days which was a buffet with breakfast and lunch options. There were also stations to get freshly made food such as pasta, waffles, carving stations and a whole dessert area. The food was definitely upscale. For dinner it was a sit down with a waiter and a 3 course meal. The dinners took forever! First came the bread which was freshly baked and amazing, then we ordered the appetizer and the entire. The appetizers took a long time to come out but the entree took at least 45 min to arrive both nights. On Friday night we had to be at the first installment of the murder mystery play at 9:00 and our dinner came at 8:50! We took a few bites and had to leave. They were nice enough to tell us to stop back later to pick up our dessert to eat in the room. I enjoyed the brunch more than the dinners to be honest, the fish dish I had one night was extremely bland. Second night, same snafu but we did not have to be anywhere at 9pm so we stuck it out. If there were 1/2 stars this place would rate a 4&1/2 in my book. The 1/2 being taken because of the dinners and the price of the weekend. Now that I am on the mailing list, they are sending me some better deals and specials. I'll definitely be back to take advantage of those!

I've seen Mohonk Mountain House morph from a laid back lodge with no spa, no air conditioning, and…read moreno alcohol served in public areas (due to its conservative Quaker origins) - to the semi-bougie, craft cocktail serving venue it is today. Has the place improved over the years? Well that's all a matter of perspective. Personally I miss the old days, but I'm a bit of a cranky eccentric. This review is based on a midweek stay during the peak of autumn foliage, a lovely time to visit when the weather cooperates. The hotel itself is old and charming with wonky floors and wild patterned carpeting, but well maintained and immaculate. Pricing is all inclusive (no tipping, yay!) with three meals a day and afternoon tea thrown in. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style, taken in a large room with high ceilings alongside hundreds of other guests. It's kind of like a fancy summer camp, with service from the mostly young staff ranging from friendly and responsive to adequate. The food is very good, especially the omelettes at breakfast (which include ingredients like lobster and local cheeses), as well as their addictive home baked pastries. You won't leave Mohonk hungry (or thinner!), that's for sure. The main draw at Mohonk for me are the natural gardens and beautifully groomed hiking trails, which range from easy to steep and strenuous. I've downgraded my hiking choices over the years to match my waning fitness level, but there's truly something for everyone. Numerous activities offered: large indoor pool, guided hikes, axe throwing lessons, archery, meditation, evening lectures and live music in the parlor. Paddle boats, canoes and rowboats are available to explore the beautiful lake at no extra charge. The spa is pricey but a wonderful experience, and includes use of an outdoor mineral whirlpool set amidst trees that I love, as well as sauna and steam room on your day of service. Room decor varies, so check the website carefully before reserving. We usually go for the Victorian style rooms which come with a working fireplace and ornate wood moldings. Sound insulation in the vintage building is sketchy which may impact your rest time (depending on your neighbors) but there's no late night partying, in fact the place is dead quiet at night. I rode the elevators and walked around late one night when I couldn't sleep and saw no one at all, not even at the front desk. The spirits of past owners and residents were the only ones in evidence. Be aware that they routinely offer "kids stay and eat free" promotions during summer months, resulting in hordes of noisy youngsters taking over the place. I check their website carefully and try to book when these promos are Not in effect lol. I'll always have a soft spot for Mohonk, a very special place and a true haven from modern stress.

Of course, if you're visiting Yogi and friends, you're coming for the kids (and the water park). They have events you can sign up for, but don't count on them actually running. For example - the first night there was the silent disco. This is where you get headphones and get to rock out to your own music and just dance around. Good for kids and easy on the parents/anyone with sensory issues where it might be very loud. Except it didn't work - the headphones, the music, none of it. The young teens working there looked bored out of their skulls. Did nothing to entertain the kids waiting. After about 10 minutes of futzing around with the equipment, they were like eh "so and so said we didn't have to do the disco". Kind of annoying. On a rainy day, our laser tag got cancelled. Also kind of annoying, but you can't control the rain since this is an outdoor event. Wish they had some kind of indoor space in general for this in the event of rain. The inflatable pillow jumping pads were not inflated any of the times we visited the playground area. On the aforementioned rainy day, we took a stroll to the crafts area and figured, well maybe we can each get the kids something to paint. Except we were told that they don't do that, you have to pay them come back at the specified craft nights. What??? There's two people working here. And there is tons of stuff. But we can't buy something and just paint or assemble any of the crafts now? Make it make sense. Also, don't count on actually meeting Yogi Bear if you pay for the special Yogi Bear breakfast because we did pay for this add on, and neither he nor Boo Boo ever came to the outside pavilion where the event was. The attraction here is really the pool and splash parks which were a lot of fun for the kids. It opens at 10, which is kind of late. If you have kids, they're probably up early and chomping at the bit to come here. There are few other things to do before hand, other than mini golf or the play ground. The mini golf was cute and it's nice you can just play at your leisure and the equipment is always out. Other nice thing was the AC in the cabin worked very well. When we stayed it was mid-upper 90s and very humid. But you might want to wear shoes/sandals because the floor left the bottom of our socks quite dirty when we had them on and not crocs/sandals. The loft area in the cabin was a hit with the kids as well. All in all, our experience here was mixed. Would we come back? Eh. Maybe. The kids had fun and at the end of the day I'm grateful for that. But I'd like to explore other places before returning most likely.

This is the first time we've stayed under the new ownership with Jennifer & Maureen as hosts. They've done a great job at updating the lodge while maintaining its classic vibe. Noteworthy is the efforts they've taken refreshing and coordinating the exterior paint colors and garden furniture. A discerning eye will note the efforts to maintain a thematic exterior color coordination across all the units. The grounds are well maintained with a vast array of natural plantings, specimen trees, indiginous plants, which if you are a garden buff, you'll really appreciate the variety, quality and passion that went into these wonderful presentations. The rooms are simple, clean, with a vintage vibe authentic to a Catskills cottage experience. There is a large communal yard with a fire pit, volleyball net, hammocks and seating as well as several new Weber grills and picnic tables. Easy to congregate or just hangout by your cottage or on your porch. The Esopus Creek is a short walk across the property on the other side of the street. Best is the continental breakfast!!!! Fresh baked goodies, fruits, yogurts, coffees, bagels and various snacks. Grab a morning tray and sit out back as the morning greets you, you are transported to a natural relaxing environment. This stay was a great experience, they've really upped the game here while maintaining an authentic feeling of being in your own mountain cottage. A vibe that is so often lost, when classic resorts move to a "hip" or "trendy" update. Thanks to our wonderful and welcoming hosts, our stay was really a delight and we feel we've made new friends. Thank you!

My bf booked a night for us here after receiving a targeted Instagram ad. He's an absolute sucker…read morefor targeted ads, and I must congratulate Farmhouse Catskills on their marketing prowess; however, the marketing strategy gives you a pretty good idea of what you can expect. This place is definitely instagrammable... but unfortunately not much more than that (at least for now). Pros: They've done a seriously beautiful job on the decor- lots of grays and moody dark blues, mid-century furnishings, and prolific use of some of the best artificial tropical plants I've ever seen. All of it is as pretty in person as it is in those Instagram ads. When you walk in, there's ambient music that matches the vibe perfectly. We didn't take a dip in the pool because it was kind of chilly, but I thought it was neat that there was a poolside DJ. It's also worth mentioning that this place is clearly very dog friendly, and as a dog-lover-but-not-owner I was happy to be able to pet so many pups on the property. And there's a decent pool table, yay! Cons: It's pretty clear that this place was sort of hastily opened in an attempt to pull in some cash before the end of the summer, without being adequately prepared and staffed. (It kind of reminded me of one of those house-flipping shows on HGTV.) In our room, one of the ceiling lights still had blue painter's tape around it. The door (which opened to the outdoors) stuck badly, and the knob was not really appropriate for the purpose- more of a closet or bathroom doorknob than something secure for a hotel room- no deadbolt, etc. We had the same troubles with the hot water that another reviewer mentioned. We had to wait almost an hour to get a cocktail at the bar because it was understaffed. I imagine there were just one or two bartenders serving the bar, restaurant, and pool areas. (For the record, the cocktails were nice, though, as was the bartender.) At one point a man who seemed to be more or less in charge of things (but somewhat overwhelmed) was quite rude to us and another couple we were socializing with in the bar area. The morning we were to check out, a housekeeping person opened the door to the room at around 8:30 AM when we were still asleep. She apologized and said, "Oh, my manager said you already checked out!" We said "No, isn't check out at noon?" She confirmed and went on her way. No big deal. But about an hour later, ANOTHER person barges into the room and says her manager told her we had already checked out. (I'm guessing that her manager was the aforementioned overwhelmed guy.) In short: This place has definite potential- again, so pretty!- but it seems the focus right now is aesthetics over experience. At a lower price point I'd probably call it four stars, but at $300/night in the middle of nowhere, I'd expect better management and service. I'd be interested to see if they work out some of the kinks next summer.

The setting, ambiance, vibes: everything was perfect and incredible. It's the absolute perfect location for a getaway, staycation, special occasion, anniversary, wedding, you name it. It's of course a very unique place for unique people that love to appreciate food, nature, art and the beautiful surroundings in this gorgeous hotel and event space. We dined in their smaller/private/event space where we enjoyed a beautiful 3 course, slow paced, farm to table, meal (and experience). We enjoyed the castelfranco radicchio as our first (which was absolutely delish with apple, candy roasted squash and pepitas). Followed by the ricotta cavatelli (all handmade) with local mushrooms, salsa verde and parmesan. I was super excited about the salsa verde and wish I could've tasted it more. For dessert, I got to mix match and try with my hot date the squash cake with coconut ice cream and chocolate cremeux which was absolutely incredible! Overall, we had such an amazing experience and can't wait to be back for another special occasion or intimate dinner with my hubby. I would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for an intimate, unplugged, local, getaway. It's a VIBE.

Slightly low water pressure in the shower but not unworkable. Comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary yoga class, which was held in a stunning chapel-like wellness center. It has a magical and special light and vibe. Feels brand new in quality but ancient in spirit. Breakfast at the restaurant was phenomenal. We especially liked the yogurt's consistency and very subtle tartness. Diner at the restaurant was similarly fantastic. Excellent service. The appetizers were huge. Arguably too large. Eg two of us were only able to eat half the cauliflower served to us. Highly recommend the duck; it was great! I am picky about wine and really loved their glass list. The French Chardonnay in particular wowed me. They had free bikes which we didn't have time to use to check out the nearby bike trail. The complimentary brownies were rich and luxurious. Overall I would highly recommend.
