We were able to try this place during Hudson Valley's restaurant week. Unfortunately, the pork chop and chicken were a little dry for our taste. The server was excellent and seemed like he was the only one serving the two sections of the place. We had one round of drinks and we usually have more, but since he was busy sitting, taking orders and bringing out the food, he was too busy to check on us and offer more drinks. He did an excellent job and we could have flagged him down, maybe it was better for us to only have one round. But he could have gotten a larger tip and the place a higher margin. Excellent place for a great party! I went there to celebrate my good friend's retirement after many years as a captain for American Airlines. This old colonial mansion consists of a few buildings set on beautifully landscaped grounds. They have a fantastic gazebo for private parties as well as a large room in the main building. They have 16 beautifully appointed rooms for guests to stay. The place is owned by 6 sisters who grew up in the area and decided to purchase this beautiful place and run it together. The bartender was fantastic and made me some really delicious espresso martinis. The food was delicious as well, with some great tasting sweets placed at every table. The service was attentive and very friendly, as the staff were excellent. I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet evening of drinks good food and a great nights sleep. read more

We're celebrating a birthday today and we're trying out something new. Six at the Curry Estate is an upscale restaurant. Beautifully decorated and romantic with incredibly delicious dishes. We started with an espresso martini which seems to be our go to. Delicious and creamy but not real boozy. For starters we ordered the Maryland crabcake and French onion soup, both delicious. I especially liked the cheesy, brothy soup. The broth was great. We shared the pear salad and that was also delicious. The pears were marinated and the salad was dressed lightly with really good olive oil. I loved the blue cheese, nuts, and cranberries mixed in. I would have been happy having that for dinner! Finally my hubby got the blackened Shrimp with Grits. Again, delicious. Generous portion with huge shrimp cooked to perfection. The grits was rich and creamy with a delicious sauce. I had the Tarragon French Cut Chicken. The breasts are skin-on and boneless, except the wing drumette is still attached. Seasoned and cooked perfectly over papperdelle pasta and roasted vegetables in a wild mushroom sauce. My dish was so so good. I loved everything about it. I was impressed with how delicious it was and how it all complimented each other. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive and nice. All in all I loved it here. What wonderful ambience! - lovely historic buildings set on a hilltop close to Route 9/Albany Post Road and some lovely back roads as well as the Taconic State Parkway. The estate is a multiple buildings with the large estate house serving as an Inn and restaurant. EVENT SPACES: We were attending a bridal shower at one of the upper buildings, in particular an open air pavilion decorated with lovely summer drapes and flowers. AMPLE PARKING on a gravel lot adjacent to the indoor event space and outdoor pavilion. Our bridal shower party of about 45 ppl fit very comfortably in the space where a buffet style breakfast was set up along the far end. The decor was very tasteful with delicate golden bamboo banquet chairs and crisp linen-topped table. Service met the moment-our servers were attentive, pleasant, and discreet. We started with a cocktail option of mimosa, either orange, pomegranate, or another variety. The food at the buffet was fresh and hot. Not an overwhelming amount of choices, but enough for an abundance on each plate - small pastries, and croissants, bagels and accoutrements, scrambled eggs, which were not dried out - creamy French style with a large curd, and , bacon, sausage, etc.. I doubt the pastries were scary-made, but they cleverly heated them through so they felt fresh and hot. What was the only thing missing was a preserve or jam of some kind to spread on the croissants. HIGHLIGHTS: The end of the buffet was punctuated with really authentic , thick Belgian waffles, not those thin flappy kind but a really thick crisp outside, tender on the inside, waffle with fresh whipped cream and maple TIP FOR MANAGEMENT: switch to 100% maple syrup. Coffee and tea service at the Close of our event was timed nicely. I've been in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and I would say they did spectacular job. I would highly recommend this venue, a birthday, engagement, party, bridal shower, or a small intimate wedding. read more

Last night I went out to dinner with some friends. Our reservation was for 6:45. We were about 15 minutes early and were started promptly. Since my last visit the restaurant has had some sprucing up. Our room looked beautifully. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. Our appetizers came out in a timely manner. We had the crab cakes and French Onion soup. We got married at this location 10 years ago and have had a few anniversary dinners there since. This was our 1st time back for an anniversary dinner since the new owners (6 sisters) took over. I can say as amazing as the venue and food was 10 years ago, these ladies have made improvements in every category! The ambiance, classy and timeless atmosphere only enhanced. We were lucky enough to meet a few of the owners and they took the time to give us a personal tour of the property beyond just the dining area for over 30 mins. This was an interesting stay last weekend. I assumed since the on line pictures showed the different rooms, I was imagining it was more like a bed and breakfast. The best way to describe Le Chambord at Curry Estate is more like an inn. B&B rooms with no full breakfast. There's coffee on the bakers rack, enjoy your day! When we checked in on Monday, we had the hotel to ourselves. There were no guests, just the person at the front desk. During check in, I said I'm an early riser. I like to make a cup of coffee and relax in a sitting room while my wife is asleep. I was told I could make coffee in my room and bring it down? Breakfast is at 8am and coffee and juices are served. Initially, the breakfast offering wasn't explained to us very well. They had a continental breakfast with freshly made muffins along with fresh fruit and cereal boxes. No one is making me Brioche French toast with freshly picked New York berries. Bummer. The bright spot of our morning was having breakfast coffee with Michelle. She gave us lots of tips on what to do in the area. She also showed us around the kitchen and proudly showed us a wine case from the 40s that's still in operation today. I can still see her bright smile explaining on where we should go after our walking tour. Before dinner, we decided to open a bottle of wine and light a fire outside on the deck. It was a perfect and relaxing time on the back deck. The ground are impeccable and the hotel went out of their way to make guests comfortable. The bathroom had hot water, nice shower products and they provided fresh towels when they cleaned our room. At night, being the only guests staying at the far inn? When we came back from dinner, the inn had "The Shining" vibe. All those empty rooms, if I would have heard a door slam I would have peed my pants. Other than that? This was our first time here tho we drive by it regularly. We went to the restaurant Six on a Thursday night to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday and we had the whole place to ourselves which was nice (I told her I rented it out just for her haha). We went mid January so the Christmas decorations were still up which made for a nice atmosphere. Our waiter Antonio was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. We started with the Maryland crab cake which was chock full of crab chunks. I had the tarragon chicken and my daughter had the rack of lamb. Both were cooked just right and were quite tasty. For dessert, I had the flourless chocolate cake and my daughter had the chocolate mousse, both of which were very rich and a nice way to end our dining experience. I have already recommended this restaurant to a number of people and hope to make it back again soon. read more

We really loved it...the service was exceptional and food way above par. We had the baked Brie, crab cake and charcuterie board. The meats on the charcuterie could have been move varied. The crab cake was outstanding but a little different with dill. I like the Brie but everyone else loved it. The entrees we had had the tuna, ravioli, filet mignon and rack of lamb. All were at least very good (I tried them all). Mine was the lamb and it was a bit dry (ordered medium) but still very tasty! read more

What an amazing place and experience from beginning to end. I was here 5 years ago as a half way meeting place with friends in CT ind NY we chose off a map. I just decided to do a small work post holiday get together there. The mix of fine dining and a fun cozy bar with live music after and the holiday decorations still up was so perfect! Went to restaurant 6 at the Curry Estate, What a fabulous place to bring my date. We were looking for a special place to dine, And this magnificent wonderful place suited us, just fine. The ambiance was above five stars, no question, And the meals I would give more than five stars, as they were prepared to perfection. We recently spent a night at the LeChambord at Curry Estate for a Winter Getaway package. The package included a night at the Inn with $100 credit towards dinner in their restaurant located in an historic 1860s estate house. In addition, the inn provided champagne and assorted treats in our room and a continental breakfast the next morning! The restaurant was lovely and quaint. The menu selection was included several different dishes that sounded amazing. For appetizers, we chose the baked french onion soup and the baby green salad. I chose the Fillet Mignon Rossini and my husband chose the Osso Buco. Both dishes were beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and came with a potatoes and green beans. We decided not to have dessert at the restaurant and instead headed downstairs to the bar area to listen to Johnny Dell the piano man. It was a great way to end the evening. Mothers Day: very ill prepared staff, not expecting such a turn out? REALLY ? It's Mother's Day for crying out loud. Bottomless mimosas 4 of them $80 and our glasses stayed empty "bottomless" the entire time. They never asked or brought us more, I had to get up and go to the bar area and say "refills please?" We had reservations for 8 of us @ 11:30 yet 3 other tables were seated & served long before our meals came to the table. Mother's Day.... one of our sons had to leave @ 2 and asked if they'd make sure he got his at least? He did, he ate and left THEN our meals came to the table? On HIS Mothers Day, no eating with Mom? They at least didn't charge us for his meal but isn't that the point of Mothers Day, to have a meal WITH your Mom? If they forgot to put the slip in, or lost it, at least come out to apologize for any delay. No? Removing empty glasses, or plates? Nope we had to ask them to be removed so Mom had room to open her gifts, flowers etc. No room had to use an empty chair for that. No dessert on the menu at all on Mother's Day? No reason to ever return, we're local BUT Never again PERIOD. read more

Let's just start by what a beautiful place this is! My best friend just got married Friday night and from the start of the day the sister couldn't have been more accommodating. It was excellent, but I just didn't feel comfortable and relaxed there, not knowing in advance that's where we were going. I would have dressed differently. That is no fault of the establishment. I have been eating at Le Chambord since the mid/late 1980s. Sorry to see that Roy has left. I ate here last February for my friend & mine birthday. It was very good. Ate here last night to find out there is a new chef...surprise, surprise. Had the seafood chowder. The flavor was nice, seasoned nicely BUT where's the seafood..?? Was told there was salmon, etc., in the chowder. Saw NO orange/pink specks/flakes of salmon. Quite a few mussels & diced potato...came across a tiny piece of scallop (??). Was disappointed with this chowder. Had the branzino with rösti (Swiss potato pancake) topped off with zucchini slices which were dry. A tomatillo salsa (chunky salsa verde) was served with the branzino. This salsa did NOT compliment the fish at all. OH, yeah, there was a little spinach served, too, that was so salty I could not eat it....!!! The rösti was NOT rösti...!!! It was chunky mashed potato kinda fried into a pancake. Rösti is shredded potato; crispy fried on each side. I only ordered the branzino 'cause I wanted the rösti...SMH. Oh, well.... Had the lemon custard for dessert; this was really GOOD....somewhat on the small side for $9.00. Bobby (staff) AKA Mr. Perfect is too funny, charming in his way & accommodating. This weekend, my group had the experience of dining at this restaurant. We had high expectations of the restaurant based on its reputation. Arriving early, we were seated quickly without having to wait. Although we were impressed with the ambiance and the quality of the food, we were very disappointed for the following reasons: 1. Service was very slow. 2. No napkins were on the table. None of your staff noticed this even after bread and water were delivered to the table, and we had to ask for napkins . 3.The time lapse between the serving of the appetizers and the delivery of our main courses was over 40 minutes. After we finished our appetizers, no one cleaned up the dirty dishes on our table until one of our party asked about what happened to our main courses - and only then were the dirty dishes taken away. Shortly after the table was cleaned, the main courses magically appeared. 4. There was a noticeable lull in service compared to what was being received by other tables in the room. 5. At one point during the meal, we had an interaction with one of the wait staff, and he commented: "This is my first and last day working at this place." 6. When my dessert was delivered to the table, it was not delivered with the spoon needed to consume it. I had to ask for this. 7. No one asked whether we would want coffee or tea at the end of the meal. 8. The service was inconsistent at best. At the beginning, the wait staff engaged readily in conversation, describing the dishes with enthusiasm. Then, they disappeared and dropped the ball. After we asked about our main course, and it was delivered, no one bothered to apologize for the delay. As much as I would love to come back because of the ambiance and the food, I am soured on the idea of returning due to the spotty service the staff provided. My dining partners share the same opinion, and were very disappointed because there are many fine dining establishments in the Hudson Valley, and we expected to add this place to our list. 2 strikes and you're out. We called to book a rehearsal dinner at Le chambord. I went back and forth through email without a definite answer. Finally, my fiancé called to speak directly with the owner to book a private event. She was intrusive, demanding to know where we were having our actual wedding. She finally said she could not have a rehearsal dinner for someone having a wedding elsewhere, because she wanted to save the room for rehearsal dinner for people who were having their wedding there. (Very odd, considering I don't know anyone who has both at the same venue?) My fiancé asked, "what if it was for a birthday party or something?" The owner snapped at him, saying "I'm not playing these games with you!" ... wow! Okay My mother, not knowing we had this experience, called to book my bridal shower there. (The location is ideal for guests traveling from out of state) She was told yes, they could accommodate us. Everything was set. A few days later they back tracked and said they were retracting their offer. They made a mistake and will not host an event on a Saturday for someone who was not having their wedding there. This was for the month of March, by the way. I wouldn't consider that, wedding season. SO unprofessional!! I don't know what they're trying to accomplish, but it's done nothing but turn business away. Terrible, terrible to deal with. So long! read more
