My husband and I visited the powder room today somewhat unplanned and we were blown away! To preface, I am new to the firearm scene, my husband is for sure more familiar. The costumer service was incredible, everyone we spoke to was incredibly polite, and very knowledgeable. We used the indoor shooting range, with the rented pistol and all of their equipment worked top notch and the range safety officer watched us shoot and helped me figure out small changes that will help my accuracy(I notified an improvement pretty quickly). They have a bunch of options and I will definitely be back when it comes time to get my concealed. read more

I moved up here from Tampa over a year ago. As I was pulling in to my short term rental, I drove past Powder Room and I was beyond ecstatic if there was a shop down the street. Now, of course I wasn't sure how the shop would be, but on my second day of living here, I Rolled Up, there, and had one of the best experiences. Every single individual is customer service focused. They will not try to upsell you on some thing that you genuinely don't want. I've watched associates like Gage, Austin, Torey, Cass, Brian, James and Joe (I miss corey and Andrew) spend over an hour with an individual to make sure they got the right firearm. On top of that, they have an amazing collection of extremely rare and vintage firearms, a plethora of suppressors, along with a kiosk to make purchasing them easier, and on top of that they offer amazing training. needless to say, Powder Room has successfully taken a full quarter of my salary and I'm not complaining. If you want an amazing shopping experience, not to feel rushed, truly feel like a member when you buy into their membership, and want a clean range; Powder Room is for you. I joined the snowbird membership at beginning of Dec 2023. I have taken 4 classes with 4 different set of instructors. Each class had an additional instructor participating, Based on what I learned and saw I ended up buying a few products including a SIG 365 Macro red dot 9mm. A couple employees carried this same pistol and were great in letting me handle it and get make sure I wanted to spend this much money upgrading from my Glocks. Additionally while on the range when it was not busy the range officer was not shy about sharing a technique with me to improve my shooting. Thus, I dealt with most every employee/instructor and there is not one of them that I did not walk away thinking positive about. Safety is stressed and the place is clean and just "feels good". Headed back Thursday evening for an AR15 class. I am a better CC person and know that I can make better decision with what I have learned over the last 5 weeks. Rick read more

Just completed the Defensive Pistol Course and it was absolutely worth the money. The instructors were super helpful and adapted the content and instruction in real time based on everyone's previous knowledge and experience. Not too slow, not too fast. It was just right. We got to practice shooting from the holster, moving, shooting behind cover, and much more. Can't wait for the next class! read more

I took the class titled Second Shots with Mike Kelly. It was awesome . The classroom part which was about 20percent of the class was about shooting stance, grip, ammo, selecting a handgun and clearing malfunctions. All interesting and worthwhile info. The second part of the class was drills at the range. It was awesome and did so much to improve my self confidence. This is truly a great class and I highly recommend it. read more

I was in town on vacation and found this new range, built since the last time in town I spent some practice time at the range. its a clean and well put together shooting venue with feiendly and helpful staff. I even tried some of their rental guns. I enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately i didnt have my competition gear with me, as they were having a USPSA event later during our stay. I will come back another time. I recommend checking out the store too, as they have a good variety and selection. read more

Bought a knife from The Powder Room for $540 and the same day the product broke. They would not take a return and in short the general manager told me since you own it you deal with it. So if you decide to buy one of their products that they sell be ready to be stuck with it if it sucks or disappoints you. I sent many family and friends there to buy different things in the past but not anymore. They are all informed and none of them will be going back. read more

I would like to preface this review with a note. I shot with my wife at this range over a year ago and was treated well and had an enjoyable visit. However, on a recent visit with my daughter who wanted to practice with a new gun before taking the Concealed Carry Permit Class the visit was less than cordial. As we were checking in at the counter a man as yet unidentified to us , saw the water bottle under my arm and in a rough and condescending manner said "You can't take that water on the range!" To which I a 22 year Air Force Veteran that is 100% DAV responded "I require that water in order to keep my throat from closing up. I take a lot of medicine and it dries my mouth and throat out." The conversation then basically turned into a debate with him arguing that the water could be left out in the customer waiting area which is through two doors and about 15' over on a counter. I asked him if he wanted to be doing CPR when my throat closed up to which he said you don't have to shoot here. He said it was a slipping hazard if spilled. How that is the case with it being in my range bag on my lane affects only me. They trust me with high powered, deadly weapons, but not a water bottle which could keep my airway open and keep me breathing. He never identified himself, he turned out to be the Rangemaster. As if that gives him the right with his type A personality and total disregard for respect to the Air Force Veteran's cap on my head with lightning bolts indicating I retired as a Field Grade Officer, in this case a Major, not that that is pertinent. I am a Mustang serving as both enlisted and officer! I trained thousands of men and women from all over this world and treated each with the respect due them. I treat a person I meet the same until they show me they don't deserve my respect. I reported this incident to the Owner/Manager who was very pleasant. I only hope he follows through, but I sincerely doubt he will. If this is the respect they show an Honorably Discharged Disabled Vet who served proudly following in the footsteps of my father who was a WW II Vet, then I will continue to use the Public range out off of 79. It was a wonderful experience. I recommend it over the Powder Room to all Vets and any other shooters who want to be treated with respect. read more

My husband and I signed up for classes so we could learn the laws, learn the correct way to shoot, to protect yourself, etc...I cant say enough about the staff, the cleanliness, the knowledge that this place brings. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects of State Laws, Gun Safety, Gun Skills, etc. The Indoor shooting range is amazing! The classes they have include shooting stance, grip, load and unload, dealing with malfunctions, and just so much more. I feel more confident after just one shooting class on handling a gun and gun safety. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn to protect yourself and stay within the Law. read more

So far not impressed at all, the staff didn't know much about the guns they sell, I asked about a Ruger single action and had to show a picture.I asked how much to ship a gun to them and she said $75, wow that is almost double what everyone else charges. I didn't check out the gun range so I know nothing about them. The gun prices were also a little higher than elsewhere. One nice thing is that the place is very clean. The ammo was also higher than other places $59 for off brand .45ACP box of 50. Not the place to shop yet, until they get their heads out of the clouds, there are much better places to shop. They are only a month open so they can grow. read more

He was able to get through a lot of information but also took the time to explain it well and make sure everyone felt comfortable. We will definitely be taking additional classes and training. I'm Still considered a new gun owner, working on my shot. Went into The powder room (first time there) and began shooting with my very experienced friend. As I was shooting in the traditional "tea cup" hold, Brittney came and showed me a more accurate holding of gun. BOY did that work GREAT my confidence in holding and shooting changed dramatically. visiting from Texas and decided to stop at this range, purchased a lane for two guest and targets, signed the waiver and watched the gun safety video. after entering the range and unloading all of my equipment and loading a few mags, one of the employees then informed me no green tips were allowed and that someone at the front desk should have told us prior (which he did not). he was apologetic which I appreciate but the guy at the front desk could care less that he just wasted our time. he originally asked us if we had ear pro/eye pro, which we did then proceeded to ask if we had our own ammo, not asking what type or even caliber. Would have just been nice to have known this before signing, paying and watching the safety video. read more

This is a great gun store with indoor range. My wife and I took our best friends who never shot before and we all had a great time. The store has only been open a week and it is beautiful. My friend and I visited this range because the Bay County gun range was not open. We decided on a pistol instruction appointment which we booked prior to our arrival. Initial contact was made via telephone voicemail. Barry returned my call. We were able to text from then on which was preferred. The building is an attractive blue(I wonder if to match Barry's bright blue eyes-haha) and easily visible from hwy 98(on the North side of the road). Parking is at the rear of the building. I liked that it was private/not visible from the main road. The showroom is spacious, not overwhelming and nicely appointed. There is an instruction classroom complete with dry fire laser simulator for practice prior to live fire training. The dry fire sim was amazing! It has various types of targets and actual pew pew sounds. Regarding live fire: there is a rifle shooting range and pistol shooting range. The property is owned by St. Joe Company. The store is a Sig Sauer hub but carries all major brands. The staff (most are veteran LEOs and/or Military)are friendly, professional, well versed on products, humorous but appropriately serious. Michael was our instructor. He was fantastic! Very patient, informative and friendly. This store is a nice addition to the 30A/PCB corridor. I will be returning to visit with them and train the next time I'm in the neighborhood! read more
