Since then, and on a less busy day, The Vault has cleaned up beautifully. The barman was welcoming and quick on his feet. The sign out front read "BBQ is ready" and, sure enough, when I asked for the run-down, he talked me through the spread. In the end, a 1-meat 1-side plate won out. I requested the brisket (which was great, and generously portioned, though a bit dry to be the best in town) and the street corn (which was incredible, and definitely the best in town). It seems BBQ is becoming a competitive business in Salem! The Vault is keeping up with the best of them, but here's the real kicker: the plate came out to only $15. For meat of that caliber and quantity, not to mention the elotes, that's beyond a steal. If The Vault continues to offer this level of quality in service, food, and drink, any early-days missteps while finding their footing will be drowned out by the good times they roll out. I hope they can keep this momentum and continue to offer exceptional service complementary to great good and drink.

It wasn't overpowering in any of the flavors and the rosemary sprig made it look so cute. I got the breakfast potato hash with no tomatoes and it was a delicious and filling breakfast. The potatoes were so good my group wouldn't stop helping themselves to them. I added some hot sauce as it was in the dryer side but still really good. I also tried the matcha coconut scone. It had a pretty matcha green color but it was hard to taste the matcha or coconut and it was quite dry. Service was quick and friendly. The inside is really beautiful and we couldn't help but do a little photoshoot, so many fun backgrounds! Things to note: Restroom shared with other businesses close by businesses and metered street parking only.

This review is for the "Lounge" half of Christo's. Yes, there are two separate areas, the "dining…read moreroom", and the "Lounge". Their web site REALLY should make this more obvious. The lounge has three columns of tables directly touching each other, and single seats at the bar. The space is TIGHT, too tight, since wait staff are forced to walk sideways down the columns of tables and between those seated at the bar to see the show (the stage and bar are at opposite ends of the room). When the band takes the stage, staff turn the house lights off, which makes for a literal "dine in the dark" experience (not fun). There are also fog machines, that would be best left turned off (fog isn't needed for jazz music). There's also a green laser ball that shoots laser dots around the room, which (again) seems completely out-of-place for jazz shows. Parking is all street parking, and the neighborhood has a large homeless population. The food was definitely one of the pluses, and the other was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff.

This is the cutest and most adorable little Coffee shop! Didn't know they serve food!! So easy to find, which is hard to say for us, because we just moved here from the midwest! Not only are the owners adorable and sweet, but my favorite is the Avocado Mash Toast! They are even sweet enough to do just a half order for me, because there is no way I could eat a whole order! My husbands favorite is their Marfar Chicken. Which we were told is from their homewtown! Also, their coffee is roasted down the hall and is the freshest coffee ever! Delicious, quiet, and quaint. The menu is simple but sooo good! I have tried the marfar chicken, panini, and avacado toast and loved them all. The coffee is so good! Such a nice little place to go catch up with a friend over coffee or a glass of wine. I've also been here for a few events and the atmosphere is always so fun. I went in with my kids who are allergic to strawberries and Traci was so wonderful with them and thoughtful and took the time to make them special smoothies that didn't have strawberries. We got to visit with the sheep that were trimming the grass in the vineyard, and enjoyed watching the sun go down from the patio. The Chemeketa wine studies center has three programs - managing vineyards, making wine, and hospitality. All three come together beautifully with views of next year's crop, bottles full of previous year's crops, and food prepared and served with aplomb. Check their web site for hours, and for special events. In the past, we've attended alumni events where we got to meet with winemakers who have moved their skills to local businesses.
