I hate to leave such a bad review, but - after asking our server how the steak was and being assured it was amazing, we ordered two at our table. Y'ALL- maybe the worst steak I've ever had. Undercooked and so tough we could hardly cut them. When we let our server know, she offered to talk to the manager. She came back and offered to comp our drinks (no alcohol was ordered mind you) and said that apparently the steak had been an ongoing problem and they were going to take it off the menu. What!? I came in alone and they didn't even ask if I wanted to sit at the bar which was awesome!! I eat alone a lot and I want a table and I know what that means for the server but I appreciated it so much. The two things that caused me to give a lower rating is the dining area was so cold we had to wear our coats and we were charged a fee for using a credit card which should not be passed back to the customer ... and turn on the heat that's the price of doing business. read more

Another local institution that I just don't think about visiting- this was my first time in.. Met the bestie here for a super early dinner one Friday night shortly after they opened. Obviously this is a popular happy hour spot, as it got busy soon after. I found the menu to have a nice variety, but I wasn't that hungry so I went with an order of Thai peanut wings and a side order of broccolini, knowing I could eat half and take the rest home for the next day. Everything was well executed. The BFF's salmon on risotto was very tasty. I probably would've gone for a three star review for a solid food offering but nothing extraordinary. I am giving the fourth star because service was just top notch. We were helped by two servers and both were friendly and helpful and appropriately attentive without ever being intrusive. When I waffled on which beer to order, the server brought me a little sample of my 2nd choice "for next time". They were getting crowded, but never made us feel rushed and ensured I got my leftovers boxed up. I will be back for happy hour or dinner again. Good job ESG! read more

We came here around 10am on a Sunday. It was decently busy. Shelby, our waitress was great and very attentive. Facility was pretty clean. Food came out fairly quickly. Eggs were a bit overcooked but were good. Sausage tasted fresh but was a bit crumbly. Potatoes were decent. I would come back here again for both breakfast and lunch. read more

This place fell short of our expectations. The atmosphere is really nice. The food was OK and seemed fresh but it was very bland. The mashed potatoes especially were lacking any flavor. Service was abysmal, as the wait staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other at the back of the dining room than serving guests. Be prepared to wait. We waited over an hour for a table (hostess said 45 mins, so no issue). When the waiter arrives, he tells us it is taking the kitchen 45 minutes to send out orders. We've enjoyed the food before, but after a long week at work (and a long day) I have no desire to wait longer. I'm sure the bar service is good, but if you're looking for a somewhat quiet dinner atmosphere, the noise from the bar crowd is loud. The menu may have changed, too. A couple of the appetizers now include a poached egg (not my thing). The smoked meatloaf plate is $21. Salmon and quinoa plate is $27. The only steak I could find on the menu was shaved sirloin. We ordered drinks and left. I tipped the waiter generously because I realize our order wasn't as large as a regular dinner order. read more

My husband and I have been to East Side Grill many times and have had positive experiences but the other night, the experience was horrible. I ordered the jerk pork chop and when it was served, the pork chop was blood red inside - totally raw. I tried to get the attention of a server but when that failed, I walked over to the kitchen area to tell them that my pork chop was not cooked enough. The manager came over to inspect and indicated that nothing was wrong with it and that if I wanted it cooked through, then I should have expressed my preference when I ordered it. We were shocked at her response and explained that pork chops are supposed to be cooked through. The manager took the dish back and stated that she would fix it. 30+ minutes later, they brought my plate back. My husband was already finished eating his dinner and I only had his extra fries to eat until the ketchup ran out. The restaurant was basically empty at this point and they had no explanation as to why it took so long to get my food to me. No apology from the manager. We asked for the jerk pork chop to go so I could eat it the next day. read more

Food- perfect Location- perfect Staff-perfect Cool location with high-end food with a casual atmosphere. They have a patio but we sit at the bar and the bartenders are so friendly. I hear it's owned by the people that own Theo's and I believe it with the quality of the food. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Try the Brussel sprouts or the gnocchi. Awesome read more

I really wanted to like this place, after a family friend had raved about it. We all decided to go grab dinner and walking into the restaurant there was a huge rainbow flag, I personally would rather keep my food and politics separate, that threw me off immediately. I ordered a burger for myself and one for my son, however multiple times i stated i wanted his burger plain as he is a 8 year old kid whos picky. It took them about 25 minutes before i asked them what was going on, they then brought a fully loaded burger to which i stated again was suppose to be plain, they brought back the burger multiple times, and could not seem to figure out what a plain burger was. The manager however was extremely kind and seemed to be empathetic. I don't know what the issue was in the back, but it sucked, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a plain burger. I might go back if i'm desperate. The best thing I can say is the manager was great and trained to handle this situation with delicate nature. Thank you for that. read more

Shoutout to East Side Grill in Fayetteville, Arkansas! My wife and I live here and have seen the place 1000 times and tonight we decided to give 'em a try. First off the atmosphere was great! Clean, open bar type setup and everyone was super friendly. When our waiter Jacob came to take our orders we told him we had Alpha-Gal Syndrome and he KNEW WHAT IT IS! I asked him about a couple of dishes and he told me that they contained dairy but the chef would come up with a workaround! We ordered the smoked wings with peanut sauce for an appetizer, which were great! We ordered the mahi-mahi for my wife and the Korean fried chicken for me. The chicken had dairy in the breading. The kitchen made it with NO dairy and it was AMAZING! The staff was first class! The drinks were poured right! And best of all, they took AG seriously and made us feel good about eating there! read more

I went in with family tonight for the first time in awhile and it was a wonderful experience. Not only was the food amazing (Hunter salad and Brussel sprouts for the win) but everyone that worked there was incredibly nice. Our waiter in particular was outstanding. The fact that the wait staff might have been better than the food says a lot because the food is out of this world as it is. He was rude to us because we "didn't leave room for his wife to sit next to him," which wasn't true, and he loudly talked incessantly about himself and his extracurricular endeavors. Came to East Side Grill as soon as they opened. We were the first couple of people into the restaurant and there was already a 30 min wait for 4 people, inside or outside. We finally get seated and our waiter was great!! We order drinks and apps that finally came out about 45 mins later. We order our meals and after and hour and a half later the waiter tells us there is still about another 15 mins for our food to be ready. We tell him that we would just like them to go... the manager comes up to us, reassures that what we want to do. She never apologizes for the long wait and offered no compensation. Overall terrible management. Ridiculous wait time... honestly the food was basic. I do not recommend. read more

OPTICS. You walk into a low lit, beautiful environment of friends, inherited family, and a vibe that only ESG has to offer in Fayetteville. I LOVE this place. It's been "home" for the past 6 years. I walk in, and just like "Cheers", "Everyone knows your name" however, this evening I walked in, saw the tshirts and immediately thought, "Wow, what's going on"? Can you imagine what a new customer/patron may think? Maybe they think, cheap food, poor service and standards, etc. There are some things that are not in alignment any longer. It may sound small to some but trust me, it's the big picture. The new t-shirts do not fit. Period. As a Culinary Instructor and one that operates the logistics of a catering company, I understand the importance of "optics". The tshirts are very unprofessional for such a high end drink and food menu. There's a certain ambiance that ESG has always provided and t-shirts just do not work. It is all about optics. This is not a casual restaurant. Don't forget it. read more
