When asked to make new ones the they only picked up one plate instead of both so we had to wait even longer. The sides are $6! As for the games unfortunately we didn't have time for bowling, but we enjoyed the arcade. There is a $2 card activation so keep that card to pass on lol. There is a bunch of VR games but I would not put the goggles on. Feels like a sty waiting to happen. I would go back for the daily special days.

Right when we arrived, a band called Night Hog start to perform. They were really good! They played on the first floor stage, and we sat at the seating right across from them. There was a dance floor in between us, but no one was dancing. We sat here for quite some time while we waited to bowl, so we kept going to the other side of the first floor to get drinks from the bar. Bar service was great! I never waited for a drink, and the bartenders gave good recommendations. Typical bar with plenty of cocktails and beers. When it was our turn to bowl, we went up to the 5th floor and got our lane. It is $25 an hour per lane, which I think is an amazing deal. At the lane, there are places to sit, tvs, tons of bowling balls and four total lanes. For bowling you were able to choose different games after you finished your round. I really like how they didn't make you change your shoes.. you could bowl in heels if you wanted. Show rental is free! This was an old warehouse converters into an event venue... just so cool. Bowling just 2 games with 3 people is easily 2 hours. I see birthday parties here, and crowds of college kids many of whom are not from the area. They do lights out with moving lights and music videos over the lanes throughout the day and on weekends. They also have a pretty well stocked arcade area with a ticket generator and a prize counter. I have friends that I meet here once a week at the bar and we all converse about similar topics as Barfly's of all ages. The bartenders are really nice. If you come here you will see 1 person doing the work of 2 or 3 running back and forth servicing pitches, mixing up simple and complex cocktails, while earning their well deserved tips. There is a another smaller bar at the other end of the building serving just beer and wine. Order food at the well stocked snack bar (you'd be amazed at whats on their menu) and have it delivered to the bar or your lane. There are mobile order takers roaming around too. My friends order the pizza while I order the fries, hot wings and even the grilled cheese is good. The people behind the counter at the snack bar are really nice. remember to complement them so you get a big smile back. In a pinch when looking for a place to get hot-wings and i don't feel like wing-stop, I'll come here instead. Fun fact for anyone new to the city and referring to this place to your friends that have been here all their lives, When I refer to this place as All-Star folks look at me weird and then I say "Don Carters" and then they're like, why didn't you say so in the first place! Not being from here I wouldn't have known that. Now you can preted to be from here by referring to it as it's former name. Most evenings there's a city police cruiser out front and an office patrolling the lobby and lanes. I've never seen any trouble here even on the busiest of nights when it switches from league to college night ($5 pitchers for the cheap beer). I've been here when all lanes were full and there was an hour wait for people to bowl. The bar is nice place to hang out and people watch, converse with the staff as this appears to be their safe haven during all the chaos. Interestingly, the DJ is a computer. The system is on auto-pilot from open to close. The mechanical systems that run the lanes are maintained by a couple of dedicated technicians that are constantly correcting issues and working to make sure people have a good time. The decor in the place is as one would say "charming in it's own way". The carpet needs replacing, it still reaks of old smoke when they used to allow smoking there years ago. The decor in the bar is 70's brown panelling, although I understand it was recently renovated that way?? (hire a interior decorator guys). There is a mini-golf course attached to it that I've taken my son and his friends to a few times, and there's a snow-ball place that is now owned by the bowling alley and runs it during the warmer months on the edge of the parking lot. All in all it's a local place. Despite competition moving in at the mall, I don't think Don Carter's will be going anywhere anytime soon, and even if they don't renovate it will have that "Big Lebowski" charm to it to all that go to visit.

And they said nothing about being closed to the public. No apology, no regret, nothing. We were all looking forward to a fun morning on Mother's Day. Instead we wasted a bunch of gas and will not be returning to one of the few places that a family can go have some affordable fun. We decided to come here today, Sunday for the kids after it just briefly rained. A couple of my co workers and their children joined. As soon as we walked in here we were hit with a bit of heat because the ac seemed to not be operating. In addition a couple of the employees were walking with make shift fans. We decided on one of the packages they offered for around 30$ dollars. Of our choosing this included mini golf,go karts, and a $10 game card. We weren't told how the mini golf here worked and had to walk around and figure it out. Again it had just rained so not holding it against them but we choose not to play in particular areas due to the puddles of rain. Digging golf balls from the holes filled with water isn't fun or the cleanliest. The fountain outside wasn't working and didn't appear to be working for some time. It got a bit hot so we went inside to deal with hot ac.. Our kids rode on one game for "8.0" credits and immediately it said "insufficient funds." We went back up to the counter and she had to adjust both of our cards. After our cards had been adjusted they participated in maybe 5-6 games and the cards were empty. Most of the games weren't working so the kids could play together. I asked if all of the games were 8.0 credits she stated it was mixed throughout the arcade. Most of those games are 8.0 credits and the cards went fast. Yet, they want you to continue to put money on these cards for games that are working. The pizza is decent here no complaints. Our other party had arrived and was turned away due to open toed shoes policy. However we weren't told anything for our kids that were wearing opened toed. She went home anyways to change shoes. She also had the same issue with the cards not being loaded properly. It was time to ride the go karts. We make our way over and we see that only 1 family Kart was working and about 3-4 singles riders. We of course had to ride with 3 of our kids and we had to go one at a time due to this which took away the fun and enjoyment out of it. They also seemed to be hosting a birthday and weren't able to accommodate those riders either. The go karts starting stopping in the middle of the rides. We had only rode 1 time due to the large party and were turned away the second time because the karts were down now. Make our way over to the kids karts for 1 kids kart to be working!!! Oh and we had to pay for the kids go kart package for them to only have 1! Kart working. The train wasn't working apparently and the batting cages weren't either. The prizes are trash and you don't get many tickets from the arcade. The money we spent here today would've been a fortune at Chuck E. Cheese, were we will be going moving forward. I don't understand why this place is open this experience wasn't enjoyable for the kids and they all agreed to never come back and they are under the ages of 8. I would like to be contacted for a refund not only for myself but for the other 2 moms in company.
