While the store itself is small it doesn't necessarily need to be large since it's the perfect solution if you are in the area and in need of replacement equipment. Why replace what you need with garbage when you can likely find a quality brand we know and trust at Camp Catskill. The selections of items in each particular outdoor category is small but the owner has arranged each section of the store to provide for the needs of almost any outdoor enthusiast that might stop in to replace equipment or get new stuff. The store is stocked with clothing, hiking gear, camping gear, outdoor accessories and even a small selection of boots. While the selection of boots is small if you find yourself on trail with an unexpected broken boot rest assured you don't have to go far to find a quality boot to get you back on trail especially if you are in the area for a few days camping. I stopped in and left with a shirt and fridge magnet. Not sure why in my old age I seem to be collecting fridge magnets but I find myself buying more of those in my travels.

Kenco is a privately-owned and independent company staying true to their number one priority-provide customers with the highest quality products- that can handle any weather condition up here in the Catskills. The store is massive with women's clothing on one side, men's on another- then their other departments follow. And yes, prices are steep- but these folks carefully select their products and only want to sell reliable gear/clothing that will last for years to come. The teak patio pieces were gorgeous- just priced a bit out of range. But we lucked out big time and scored a black metal patio set already rust-treated. A solid win. Service was outstanding. We spotted a floor model and liked what we saw. We'd asked if we could take it home- as long as they were willing to knock a little off the price for it being on display. They didn't blink. I was looking at a sweater didn't see my size - I continued to carry on in the store because I genuinely love it. Today the back room was covered in open boxes making it very difficult to shop regardless I found a stack of the sweaters (the one I was looking for). The guy working proceeded to yell at me stating they were all out. I said I'm looking for the grey sweater in a large - to which he replied "we don't have grey". Unfortunately that was not the case, upon arrival into the store the manager informed us that he took it upon himself to call the state trooper on us rather than knocking on the door to ask if we were going to rent from them. As we entered the store three teenage employees greeted us. As we waited to rent from the manager he came in and stated he called the state troopers and they were on the way. Calling the police on a couple who is about to spend a good buck on your establishment is extremely unprofessional. We could tell we were not welcomed so we said "Have a nice day!"
