This store is one of the coolest ski shop's I've been in. It was pretty obvious that the staff was not pressured into selling as many things as they could. One of the staff members actually talked us out of an impulse buy for our son. We were looking at snowboards and we were going to "settle" but he talked out of it. And gave us all the reasons why we shouldn't buy it. He also included his manager in the conversation. This year our daughter out grew her skis and boots. We went to Alpin Haus on Black Friday to save some money. We received 20% off, yet you are still talking over $500 for skis and boots. The sales rep we had was very nice and said the skis would be ready in a week. I didn't hear from them after that week and my daughter asked if I had. I told her I didn't, so mid week I told her I would call. When I called, I talked with our salesrep again and the skis / bindings were in line to be mounted next. He confirmed they should be done by the weekend. The weekend came and went with other things, so I called mid week again. The sales person I had answered again and he was going to check on them for me. After about 5 minutes later, he comes back and was in a slight panic mood and I could tell something wasn't right. The sales person came back and said there seems to be an issue and mentioned he could be back in a few minutes. When the sales person came back, he mentioned that there seems to be a part missing from the bindings. They could get it from their Amsterdam store and have them the next day. I am thinking to myself after I hear the part issue, why is it taking me 2 calls to get a answer about the skis? Shouldn't I have received a call from Alpin Haus to tell me of the issue? That would have been fine, but now I am a little aggravated to say the least. I asked our sale person, could I speak with a manager about this issue? A few minutes went by and I get John. John has to be a young man from his voice and non-responsiveness in the ability to carry on a conversation. If I was texting him, he probably could have had a conversation with me. I explained my issue and got really no response other than they would be ready later that night. I mentioned to John that I would give him until Friday, since I really didn't believe they would be ready. I then said, if they were not ready Friday, I will expect a full refund. The skis were ready when I went in today (Friday). Now I need to let others know, there is really no after the sale customer service with Alpin Haus. They only care about getting your money for the sale and don't care about you after. I talked with a manager Rich that I usually talk with when in doing business with them. Nice guy, told him about this issue. He mentioned he heard about it, but there was nothing he could do. He said next time come see me. I told him there won't be a next time. There are other shops in the area, I'll just have to find another one to do business with on a regular basic, like I had done with Alpin Haus. If you are in the market for new skis and equipment, shop around and look else were. Alpin Haus you can relate to a car salesman, they want your initial business, but if there is an issue, sorry we can't help you. I just pray to God, that the skis and bindings are OK when my daughter uses them. Otherwise, they aren't going to want to deal with me again. Again, shop around and avoid Alpin Haus. read more

Disappointing RV service experience. There was a lack of communication between the service representative who checked us in and the technician that serviced our RV. The service rep wrote a very detailed explanation of what we were experiencing (an electrical problem), but the technician didn't read it, or didn't read it correctly. The result: our RV was in their possession for almost 2 weeks and they never figured out what the problem was. So we picked it up and brought it home. read more

I had a wonderful experience today getting my 2 1/2 year old a ski/ boot rental for the season. The staff person who helped us (Alex) was patient, kind, professional and a pleasure to work with. We recently had a discouraging experience with a different area ski rental establishment and were worried the same might occur today. I just returned home from an extensive ski trip up at Mont Tremblant, and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I have to attribute part of that to the competent and helpful staff at the Alpin Haus in Clifton Park, as my skis felt like new after giving them the full stone grind/wax/edging treatment. Though their location is a little further away from my house than other ski shops, it was worth the extra 15 minute drive, as they were able to get my skis in with my tight deadline for this trip, with no hassle; and at a notably lower price than their competitors who I'd gone to in the past. I wanted to give a special thank you to Will for taking such good care of my skis and helping me out so much. Great service leads to loyal customers, and I plan on going back soon for my next tune up. Definitely recommend these guys for all your skiing needs. read more

Absolutely disappointing experience not once but three times. First was inquiring about an in-ground pool. Unlike other companies that sat with us, we had to write everything down. While I'm certainly capable, it would have been helpful for the person to do so. This would later avoid any miscommunication or information being taken down incorrectly especially speaking about details and pricing. Glad to say we did not invest our time or money into Alpin Haus for a pool. The next incident was the purchase of chaise lounge chairs. We purchased 4 which totaled nearly $1000. We decided we'd like additional chairs. I called the store to confirm they had them in stock as I did not want to make a long drive to the store if they did not have them. I read the tag information and color to the person. I was told there was 1 left at 50% off and they would put a sold sign on the chair. Upon arriving I explained I called and there should be a chair set aside. We went over to the chair with the sold sign to compare the tag and it was the wrong one. I got the "sorry I wasn't the one that you talked to." Ok so I asked for a manager or for them to call another store. Was told they were the only ones that had the chairs and they could special order. I said ok, and will you honor the 50% off. Nope. Well that was a complete waste of my time today. If I could return the other chairs I would! So unhappy about my experience and I rarely complain! And lastly when I asked if their Amsterdam store carries them and could we call, I was told they don't sell them. I just got off the phone with Amsterdam. They have the loungers and thankfully the gentleman was competent enough to read the tags and tell me they did not have the specific one I wanted. read more

Needed ski pants and looked every where but nobody was carry them this late in the season. I found it here, with a 20% off. Saved me from going to Amazon and waiting. They were quiet and let me take my time to choose between two. I bought one, only to return tomorrow to swap without issues. Staff were friendly. read more
