I put off creating a Trust/Will for so long...mainly because I knew nothing about it. I needed a probate lawyer and it being my first time, I was apprehensive in hiring just any lawyer. I was able to hire Lorenzo and I cannot praise his professionalism enough. I had a very good experience working with the Probate House. My mother passed away and I had a problem with the house we owned together. We refinanced the house, and it never got put back into her trust. I started working with another law firm to resolve this and all they did was make me feel uncertain about the outcome of my case. I would look elsewhere if you need someone to handle your probate case matters with compassion and understanding. A few years back, I contacted The Probate House to see if they could help with some a la carte Guardianship services after my wife had passed away unexpectedly, leaving me as a single parent of 2 young kids. After a few email exchanges, it was clear The Probate House wasn't interested in helping me unless they received full Guardianship case representation. That's fine, no hard feelings...we're just not a good fit for each other. It was then the principal of the firm inexplicably chose to mock me in an email for asking for a la carte services (rather than full representation). This email was likely meant to be private to her staff but in hitting reply all I was cc'd on it. The exchange was wholely unprofessional and showed a total lack of compassion and empathy during a vunerable time for me; the behavior was particularly surprising because the principal later claimed in a follow-up apology she had just recently lost her own spouse. Probate matters are particularly sensitive in nature, and clients deserve to be working with genuinely supportive and understanding staff in these proceedings but I didn't receive any semblance of that here. read more

I called the probate house to make an appointment for a consultation with an attorney. The receptionist was incredibly rude to the point of being combative. Terrible customer service. She acted like she herself was an attorney and demanded private details that we only wanted to discuss with an attorney. First she said there are no appointments today, then she said the attorney was on vacation and no appointments for at least a week. Every word out of her mouth was negative and RUDE. She rendered her opinion about whether we even had a right to *make an appointment* or discuss our situation with an attorney. Who cares about her opinion? She isn's an attorney and shouldn't act as such. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I told her repeatedly we didn't want to speak with her and wanted to make an appointment with an ATTORNEY. "My friend was experiencing dementia issues, was wandering, getting lost and in need of medical attention. I was able to place her in an assisted living facility. When she needed additional care, and I wanted to move her to a better facility I found much resistance since I did not have an Advance Health Care Directive and was not her conservator. Sibylle Grebe helped me tremendously in getting me through an extremely stressful time in my life. Being the Trustee for my parents Trust was such a confusing time, my sister had passed and my brother was getting in the way of my carrying out what I felt were my parents wishes as expressed in their Trust. I felt as though if I had made one wrong move I would end up being sued, ordered by a court to pay a fine or compensation to my brother, and/or that my brother would end up controlling the assets from the Trust. There are not enough words to properly relate the superlative service provided by everyone at The Probate House. From Ms. Sibylle Grebe founder of the firm, who acceopted my case, to her partner Lorenzo Stoller who was given it, and to the staff...professionalism, compassioon, and personal attention was the norm. My sister who has dementia and I were treated with utmost dignity and respect while I sought to be her conservator. I was at a loss of how best to proceed since I live in South Carolina and had planned to care only for her while her husband was hospitalized. He passed away and my stay continued for nine months. I am in the tail end of a probate case that involves 4 other siblings. 2 of the siblings are the Executors of the estate and have their attorney representing their own interests. My sister and I began asking questions of the Executor's attorney and as soon as we did, the attorney ignored our requests for information and treated us unprofessionally. My sister and I were in shock because we did not believe an attorney could behave so unprofessionally.
