ALL QUIET ON THE MIDWESTERN FRONT The Bolingbrook Promenade is pretty sleepy, as outdoor malls go. It's one thing for a shopping center to feel chill, but if walking around elicits a few yawns, maybe it's time to invest in some Nugenix. Yes, I'm suggesting that The Promenade is suffering from "low T", which happens to lots of mall in their later years. You can access the mall from Boughton Rd or Janes Ave. The Promenade is missing several things that are synonymous with most malls: food courts, escalators, an Auntie Anne's (or a Wetzel's Pretzels), Cinnabon, Hot Topic or Spencers. I'm glad to have Prince Arcades, though the $20 entry fee is discouraging (I'd rather pay-per-game instead, ain't nobody got time for an all day pass). The space formerly occupied by Mora Asian Kitchen has been vacant for several years despite signage still being present, not a good look for the mall. Danny's Pizza & Burger Bar closed (*was evicted) back in April due to $163K in unpaid rent. Bar Louie, a stalwart of the Promenade for more than 17 years, recently shut their doors due to bankruptcy. The annual Taste of Bolingbrook is held here, but the 2025 edition relied more on food trucks than local businesses. They have a nice big Christmas tree during the holidays, trick or treating around Halloween, and other events throughout the year that attract a decent crowd of people. * TL;DR * The Promenade just can't compete with the fountains, vibes, and variety of stores at Oakbrook Center (a superior outdoor mall half an hour northeast of here). Part of me wishes the Promenade would get converted into a downtown area, since Bolingbrook is lacking one. The handful of empty storefronts and sporadic foot traffic gives off the energy of a ghost town, and on more than one occasion I found myself wondering aloud "where IS everyone??" This laid-back mall could benefit from an infusion of new businesses. I'll come here to shop for specific items, but if I'm just interested in browsing, walking around, or casual people-watching, I'll go somewhere that feels more alive (Fox Valley, Yorktown, etc). read more

I'm a fan of the layout and wide variety of shops and restaurants here. Though it's a bit further of a drive than other open concepts near me (Randhurst, Melody Farms, The Glen), I do appreciate how the parking is easier here and layout also feels a bit more logical to me as well. With options such as Tanaka Ramen, Bonchon, Mago, ad Ted's Montana Grill -- you have options of super delicious food to match the wide variety of stores which fit all different budgets here. Do make sure to stop by here during the winter months if you can for lots of fun light displays that you can take fun social media pictures with. This is a nice feature and convenient for shoppers. read more

I used to love coming to the promenade. After covid, I feel like the stores are closing off. The restaurants are closing too. I do like the DSW and ulta here. The Macy's tends to be messy. Look for their events schedule when the weather is nice. Sometimes they have outdoor music which is fun. read more

I enjoy coming to this mall. It's no fuss to get in and out. There's always plenty of convenient parking and that's my favorite thing about this mall. It's also well kept and very clean. I will continue to come to this mall for years to come. read more

Throughout my entire life I totally forgot that there was an open air mall and in the Bolingbrook area too. The parking lot is pretty packed but I don't see many people here, in fact I don't see many shopping stores here. A majority of the people seem to come here for the restaurants or to go to Binnys. It's a small place so there's plenty of walkability. Overall not the best place I've visited. read more

I was born and raised in Bolingbrook, so I remember when the Promenade was nothing but a gigantic field where the neighborhood kids went to play during the summer, and where my friend's dad would take groups of us for rides on his motorcycle in the grass. But as the Promenade was built and grew, I grew with it: My friends and I would hang out on the sidewalks and in Macy's in high school before we could drive, I've gone to the Forever 21 located here from age 14 until present day, and The Beer Market is where I now always ask friends to meet me when we're all in town for Christmastime. MY POINT BEING... the Promenade has been with me for most of my life! :) Over the last few years, though some businesses have come and gone, new additions like food trucks, a play area, and the moving around of some businesses, like Bath and Body Works, have still kept this familiar mall fresh and keeps me on my toes. The Promenade's a staple of any Bolingbrook resident's life. It's a hangout spot, a dining destination, and of course, a shopping hub. It's in a great location right off the highway, across the street from Meijer on one side, and across from freakin' IKEA on the other. It truly could not be in a better spot. There's also a lot of security, though I do wonder what they're really put there to do, as the Promenade is pretty empty for the most part all the time. Whether you're visiting or live around Bolingbrook, The Promenade provides pretty much all you could need for a day full of activities, or give you something to do if you only have a little bit of time to kill, too. read more

The last of the last malls are hanging on and some are great, and the last to stand are the outdoor concept malls where you can walk to different stores outside. There's just 2 much in Promenade Bolingbrook to do especially if the theaters running. Bass and gun shop, good restaurants like Tanaka ramen, good bars, Prince arcades, even a motorcycle shop. Good God! Not bad, if only they had a great dessert place. read more

Another outdoor mall, which sucks for about half the year here in the frozen North, and if you look at the map of shops you can see that a lot have closed. Their big anchor is still Macy's, and they have restaurants like Mago that are unique. read more

The promenade is an outdoor mall with stores ranging from Barnes and Noble to a nail / massage spa. Parking is spread out around the central area of stores, there are also some parallel parking spots in the center area. The layout is a bit spread out, and not every store faces to the main pass through making for a bit of a challenge to ensure you've hit everything. For instance, DSW and ULTA both face out to the parking lot and away from the center shops. So if you don't park over that way or walk over, you could easily miss these stores. The parallel spots had charity parking meters, I'm unsure if you have to actually pay or if it's just a donation based system. If you park in on of these up may want to investigate that so you don't end up with a tix. Overall: B- A spread out layout adding difficulty to the ease of shopping brings this place down a bit, but it's a ok otherwise. read more

The Bolingbrook promenade is a really fun and exciting place to go, they have plenty of stores there to keep you entertained for a few hours, some of the shops are even dog friendly and they have a drinking place for dogs to drink from. My favorite store in there is definitely the bass pro shops, they have a lot to offer and a variety of things to buy. My boyfriend even bought me a crossbow from there for Christmas. It's always a pleasant experience going here. read more

Meh but it's a place where I can get something on the fly since there really are no other malls in this area. I think the mall mostly caters to 50 something women of 14 year old kids. There's not a whole lot for me but if I want a cheap azz scarf or tee I can hit up Forever 21 and it's only a quick run over to Victoria's Secret where I can use all those free panty coupons they're always mailing me... yay for putting off laundry for one more day! There's also an H&M here but the selection is very lacking and there's no guy or kids section, just the women's, and it seems like all the stuff that's already on clearance at the other full service H&Ms. It is an outdoor mall so it's nice for the Summer or Spring but it doesn't hold a candle to Oakbrook. and parking/ navigating is a pain unless you only plan on going to one store. One thing I'm not a super fan of is that they have streets that run through the promenade so your chances of being run over here are exponentially higher than at other malls. They do have some neat events light car show days, or holiday light and music shows, there are often concerts or other events for kids. And they have a super cute play area with hippo statues that have shooting water fountains in Summer. All in all, meh, but I'm appreciative for the convenience... wish we could wipe out the Macy's for a Nordstrom, mainly. read more

This is a typical mall with typical mall stores. There is nothing uniquely different about this mall. It has surround sound, music everywhere. The biggest reason I shop here is Coldwater Creek. This is convenient to my home, and I can run in quickly. There is also a movie theater, but I have never seen it. What I am saying, it has a strange layout. I know where the stores and restaurants are that I want to visit and I park near them. I have never walked the entire mall. but some of the businesses seem to be on the outside, not on the main streets. I have attended a craft show here, but not sure if they offer other activities to draw in shoppers. There is a VERY heavy security presence, just saying. If you park on the streets in front of the businesses, you must pay the meters. Lots are free. read more

I've been to the Promenade a few times. I'm confused on the outdoor mall thing though. Why have they been popping up around Illinois? We live in an area that's cold for 3-4 months a year. Who wants to shop outside when the ground is snow covered? For this reason alone, I normally choose Orland Square Mall because my shopping experience isn't hindered by the weather conditions. While the outdoor thing is a con, they do have a great selection of stores as a plus. I came to the Promenade yesterday afternoon to hit up The Beer Market. Usually, I would stop at Ulta, Charming Charlie or one of the clothing stores, but I had no desire to walk around since it was pretty windy. I also like that a lot of the restaurants here are great too-- The Beer Market was amazing, BD has a great market grill and Mago is always so much fun, especially after a few margaritas. I would recommend Promenade for all of your fall/spring/summer shopping needs, but unless you're one of those freaks that wears shorts in the winter, I'd skip coming here during the winter. read more

I actually really like this mall. Maybe not so much in the Winter months but that is for most outdoor malls. So many great places to eat. Bar Louie, Gordon Biersch, Bass Pro Shop fish restaurant (can't recall the name), GO ROMA, Salad Creations, Ted's Montana Grill and on and on. They even now have a Binny's! :) It has a few of my favorite stores which would be Macys, Yankee Candle, Bath and Body, Victoria Secret, Ann Taylor, Coach, Ulta etc. It is nice to just walk around and see how clean and kept up it is AND just enjoy being OUTSIDE. Parking is not so bad if you know the spots. I mean do you really need to pay for a spot people. Park a little further out for free and enjoy the walk. Get some fresh air. :) In the Summer they have car shows and live music on certain days/nights. They also have a Farmers Market (on Thursdays 4-8pm) through October. Tired of walking and done shopping? Catch a movie at the iPic Theater/Salt sports bar located between Foot Locker and Bar Louie. Movie, food and drinks ALL IN ONE PLACE! Pretty sweet. :) Maybe watch a sports game and shoot some pool. Hmmm sports and pool = woman shop and then catch up with your men at iPic. LOL Overall pretty cool mall. Cheers! read more

Not the best layout, but the convenience factor isn't half bad. I wouldn't describe it has an complete urban feel but their is a street down the middle with parallel parking. FYI: If you get a parking ticket for not feeding the meter, the ticket isn't a real parking ticket. The tickets are from mall security, not Bolingbrook Police. If you park in a handicap space, the ticket real. I remember when it opened there were tons of kids and teenagers loitering but security seemed to fixed that real quick. There's actually quite a bit of security on foot and in suv's, you can't miss their white suvs with lights on them. Technically IKEA and those stores on the north side of boughton rd are part of The Promenade. I think Bolingbrook also owns the lad to the south of the mall to. There was a sign up for a Target that could be seen from 355 but it eventually was covered and I think it's taken down now. I think the downturn in the economy probably had something to do with it for the time being, but La Fitness and @Loft looking look lonely over there. read more

I love the fact that this mall is within walking distance from my residence and it houses many of my favorite stores, such as NY & Co, Victoria's Secret, and Bath & Body Works. When your done shopping and looking for a bite to eat, there are many choices to choose from as well. One of my top choices would be Mango. There are bike racks, and plenty of parking. With it being right by two major highways, it's very easy to get too. read more

I love the Promenade. Really the only thing that can make it better is if they drew a few better stores in. The dining options are decent and varied. Bass Pro is really great around the holidays for the kids. It's totally worth a visit if you are in the area. Be sure to check out the farmers market on Thursday. There are also several events hosted throughout the summer. There is plenty of parking as well. Tons of fun activities for the kids. All in all it's a great mall! read more

This is an outdoor mall which I like, even in Chicago! However, it is sortof a bunch of strip malls in that theoretically you can drive and park near to your one store destination. I think that can potentially be very handy. It worked out for us last Sunday, but has not worked out on other visits. If you have to park in the general lot and hoof it, it can be quite a jaunt as the streets add to the general spread out area of the mall. It has the typical mall stores and a few different ones plus it is near to Ikea. It is right off 355 so it is super convenient for meeting people. I don't come here a lot but the times I have been here have been pretty darn nice. I will be back as it is just fun to go shopping sometimes! read more

I really like the concept of what they were trying to do here but I think they kind of fell short. Bolingbrook really has no downtown area as most cities and larger suburbs have. They designed this outdoor mall as it was literally a downtown area where you can pull right in there and grab some street parking by the meters in front of the stores. Where they fall short is that it really doesn't have that downtown type feel. It still has that shopping mall kind of feel to it. Maybe they should have tried to go for a more of a retro look to the design. I was happy to see the Johnny Rocket's and Bar Louie and the Bass Pro Shop. They also have more upscale stores there too. It is a nice variety. read more

This is like a urban city fantasy camp. You get that "downtown" experience without the crime or smell. I don't understand it. I guess for places that don't have downtown areas, they just make one up. The plus may be the parking here. There's plenty of it. Unless you want the privilege of parking in front of the store and then you'll have to feed the meter. Seriously? I know it's only a few cents but I find it ridiculous that they charge to park. I guess the suburbanite soccer moms can get a taste of what it's like to park in Chicago. The whole outdoor concept is a little off putting as well. I'm sure in the spring and summer it's nice, but at 9 below zero it's going to hurt. Imagine Christmas shopping here. Do you want to freeze from store to store or go to a nice heated mall? I know what my choice would be. The layout also is a major weakness. I find trying to get to a store or restaurant a little difficult. I came here one Friday to go to the (now closed) Auld Dubliner and it took three trips around the maze to finally find it. If I wasn't hungry, I probably would have said "screw it" and gone somewhere else. It's a shame because it could be a good concept and there seems to be a push to more outdoor malls in the area. But for as much shopping as I do, I never had made it a point to stop at the Promenade. read more

If you like outside shopping malls your going to love this one. My only concern is going to be when the harsh winters of Chicago set in. The place may turn into a ghost town. With shops like Bass Pro Shops, Macy's, Barnes and Noble, Coach, Bar Louie, Victoria's Secret, Johnny Rockets, yes, the same one off Rush St., the list goes on and on, how can you go wrong. Its set up really cool though, you can park in the lots surrounding the mall, or you can take a ride through and try to find a spot on the street in front of the stores. As of this revue not all of the Restaurants are open yet, but they will be very soon. In the middle of the mall they have this little water park for the kids, no, not a pool, just a little area where the kids can take their shoes off and walk through a puddle of water to cool their feet and give them some time to enjoy the outdoors also. So come on out, enjoy the summer while its here and browse the Promenade of Bolingbrook. What do you think, do I have a future in marketing? This used to be a fantastic mall to walk around. Our was Oak Brook junior.until someone decided to put two traffic lanes through the center. I wish they had just left it alone. I don't want to sit and eat dinner with cars doing a slow ride past my table. Overall the shopping selection is fine. Movie theater is expensive but neat for a special occasion. I am a huge fan of the Beer Market and Gordon Biersch. Great place to meet the girls for lunch or dinner and some shopping. They used to knock it out of the park for Christmas - it will be interesting to see how that holds up with the destruction of the stage and common area. read more

Located in Bolingbrook, Illinois and minutes from downtown Chicago, The Promenade Bolingbrook is a pedestrian-friendly gathering place for shopping, dining and entertainment. This new outdoor "downtown like" mall is done so well! The concept of this style of shopping is outdoor mall type stores that you can park right in front of! CONVENIENCE! The Macy's is new, bright and refreshing- unlike all the remaining old Marshall Fields. There are several excellent restaurants here, such as Gordon Biersch, Ted's Montana Grill, Bar Louie, Mongolian Barbeque or Islamorada Fish Company. Or if you prefer on the run, Go Roma Italian, Johnny Rockets or Salad Creations. A lot of the stores are geared towards the teen or juvenile group. They do need some more adult shops to keep it strong. I am looking forward to this mall growing. Check it out! read more

Since they now have a Charming Charlie I like this mall a little more, but really not a fan of outdoor malls. Especially in the winter months. It's not fun shopping in gloves and a scarf tied around your face. They have beefed up security in "mount me" hats that were quick to yell at my bf for lighting up a cigarette but were no help when someone stole the bag containing his just purchased $100 watch.... (I am a nice gf and bought another one I was so sad for him) The selection in the typical stores at this mall seems a little boring. I never leave here with many purchases. I'd rather shop at Orland Park and I HATE that mall. I only come here because it is 1 minute from my apt. Parking sucks unless you want to parallel park and pay for a meter... but apparently in Bolingbrook no one knows how to parallel park because I've witnessed several almost accidents. read more

This mall has gotten better the longer it's been open. The parking situation is still a pain, you have metered parking by the stores and bigger lots a block away. I tend to go here just for lunch at go Roma since it's close to work. Since I'm a new mom I gave this one more star than I would normally because the family nursing/restroom suite is really phenomenal. It's a separate room with seating, a toy table, changing table and two closed rooms for nursing and two closed restrooms with room for a stroller ad well as an adult toilet and short kid toilet. read more

I am officially a Promenade fan. There are plenty of shops for unique gifts, plenty of clothing stores for retail therapy and plenty of social happenings for the entire family. I live in the area so I may be a little biased when it comes to our premier shopping destination. What's not to like? I appreciate availability of free parking if you are trying to complete your daily step-challenges or the paid spots when you're looking to convenience for a grab-and-go. I have attended everything from holiday celebrations, Back2School festivities to Greek Fraternity & Sorority first Friday socials. My sorority sisters and I also take advantage of $1 burgers at Bar Louie on Tuesdays. The bathroom facilities are usually clean and security monitors the space regularly. My favorite activity at the Promenade is movie night at Ipic. The space enhances the moviegoing experience with premium seating, premium cocktails and premium eats. The theater also has a great space for hanging out after your movie with pool tables, comfortable seating and a fireplace. I recommend the Promenade with two thumbs waaay up! read more

In defense for having grown up in Bolingbrook my entire life, I don't really think this mall was what we needed as a "substitute for a downtown". Yes it has a cutesy feel, but it really doesnt substitute. We've gotten along fine without one. But the mall.. with its outside shopping, It is very nice to cruise around in the summer time, but I'm going to be driving to Fox Valley Mall for my christmas shopping.. And I was stunned to see that there aren't really any real canopies or anything for when it rains either. Seeing as how it gets freezing in the wintertime, and the pond out back is about to flood... not so bright ideas from the architectural side. The stores are really all geared towards 14-24 year old women/girls. And I wouldn't say Bolingbrook is a poor city, I don't think they should be exposing teen girls to 45 dollar tank tops from Hollister just because its from Hollister! like oh my god! (joking) I'm 20/f and I think I've been to the mall maybe 5 times since its opened.. And even though there are the very nice sit down restaurants, and a couple semi-sit down semi-fast food places, There isn't a gloria jeans, no auntie annies, no cinnabon... all the nice little snack places to get you a lil sugar bump to help with the all-day shopping and browsing. Also, I live 2 lights west, yes in those ghetto apartments, but I often shop at the Meijer right next to the Mall. Let me tell you, traffic is pretty crappy trying to even get in and out for some milk and bread. And the parking in the mall itself is very confusing. Yes, there are some meters up by the stores, but you have to pay for them. And if they would have just left the passing through streets closed, it would have been more convenient for other pedestrians trying to walk with their toddlers without looking to make sure some 16 year old in her daddys car filled with her friends isnt zooming by. However, it will be stringing in TONS of revenue for the city, which I believe Bolingbrook does a VERY nice job keeping up with most of their landscaping/park district parks/etc. So kudos on probably one of the only perks. read more

Not my favorite place ever, but it'll do. It's a nice place to walk around when it's not insanely cold (hence the name Promenade) and there's a lot of nice shops. I would say it's like Oakbrook, Jr. just because it has all the same shops (although not as many of the high end stores like Tiffany's or Sak's). I've never been during the winter, but I assume it's nicely decorated so that you actually want to go and hang out there and do your shopping in the winter. Everyone loves white Christmas lights on trees. Lots of decent restaurants, too. My favorite: Mongolian Barbecue. It also has my favorite store, Cacique, so I'll go out of my way to drive all the way to the Promenade to go to this store. And there's an IKEA right down the road. read more

I love the Promenade. It's perfect for a sunny and breezy day, especially if you want to avoid the headache of Oak Brook mall. But for whatever reason, I chose to shop here on a cloudy and rainy day. The shops here are the same as what you'd find in any other suburban mall, so I don't go here often. There isn't a single shop here that I can't find at Oak Brook or Fox Valley with the exception of a large DSW store on the outskirts of the promenade, Ulta, Binny's beverage depot, and some good dining options. My staples here are Macy's and Ulta. Other goodies are Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Bar Louie and Barnes & Noble. I've recently come to like the Bath & Body Works here much, much more than Fox Valley (at FV, the employees are like Stepford employees - way too enthusiastic and transparent). I love the parking available in front of storefronts. This is really nice in the winter, but these spots fill up fast on weekends no matter what the season. But during the week, in the middle of winter, I would pick this outdoor mall over any other to avoid a long trek through a parking lot. Even though the spots ARE metered, I've never paid the meter and never received a ticket. I've heard the same from many other people. read more

The Promenade does a great job of creating a functional shopping area that operates as a downtown/outdoor mall, putting streets and parking around all of the centrally located shops. It's a great place to take a walk on a breezy summer evening and enjoy the lights, the people, and of course the shopping. Plenty to eat is a welcome thing, though unfortunately most of the restaurants are chains. I'd like to have seen an independent place or two (in the theme of Geneva's Nosh or one of the many excellent alternatives in downtown Naperville) along with the typical array of casual joints. Go Roma and Salad Creations are both health-conscious alternatives I give a big thumb's up to, and there's always Bar Louie if you want good dessert and the chance to be seen by all the pretty young things out shopping. I'm not wowed by the array of stores, and a lot seem to cater to the teenaged crowds who flock in numbers through here. Some of the other options are a little more eclectic and for reasons I can't quite fathom I am reminded of the Premium Outlet Malls. I also never have *any* luck with that Macy's. read more

A great addition to a suburb apparently in need of a "downtown". They did a great job building the promenade. Not at all like any other mall I have ever seen. The only one even close is the Glen Town Center. Parking spaces in front of most of the stores make getting in and out very convenient . Plenty of restaurants abound. If you want something quick, fast casual choices include Go Roma , Salad creations and Johnny Rockets. If you are looking for more of a sit down dinner or lunch, a great variety of those to choose from as well. are Gordon Biersch microbrewery, BD's Mongolian Grill, Ted's Montana Grill, Bar Louie and Islamorada Fish Company. The shopping choices are endless and include coach, H&M, Aeropostale, Janie and Jack and Stride Rite among many other mall staples. A great addition to the Southwest Suburbs that should become a destination and gathering place for many years to come. read more

Considering the only real shopping before this opened when you're in this area was the drive to Fox Valley, Oak Brook or Yorktown, this is a nice "mall" to have. It's strange to see metered parking in the burbs, but I guess they're charging for the convenience factor of parking directly in front of the stores (abundance of free parking in the lots). There is a decent mix of restaurants, specialty stores, a Macy's and a movie theater. However, the layout isn't exactly convenient or practical because it is outdoor. Things are really spread out and if the weather isn't the greatest, you would need to drive from one location to another. Also, a lot of mall staples are still missing, which is annoying because the main objective of a mall is to provide everything a customer is looking for in one general area. I am hoping that the space will attract more retailers in the near future because the location is excellent for those who live in Darien, Woodridge, Bolingbrook and some parts of Downers Grove. Right now, I would still consider it a diamond in the rough. read more

This is a nice outdoor mall, with a decent variety of stores. Some of the good ones are macy's, VS, Forever, H and M, etc. Nothing too upscale, or even really interesting. It's basically mall stores and nothing too special. I think this mall would be a lot cooler if they added smaller businesses or something with a little extra pizazz. There are several restaurants here like Bar Louie, Francesca's, BD's Mongolian, etc. So if you want to get dinner and walk around this place is a good choice. There is also a movie theater so it's a good place to walk around after the movies. It's nice to come here in summer, but meh, this isn't a good mall, but isn't a bad mall. I love this mall! The restaurants, shopping all great, I do agree they never should have changed the common area to a thru street it has made it dangerous and much less friendly place to hang out and enjoy a drink!! read more

I love this mall!! Nice outdoor mall, popular and unique shops with the Best Bar Louie by far!
