One of my go to Costco stores. Highly recommend the Optometrist Dr. Martha Kochno and the eye center!

Located in Bolingbrook off of Boughton & I-355, this Costco is packed full of wholesale goodies

BUY HARD Come out to Costco, we'll get together, have a few laughs...... This wholesale goods juggernaut is right off of I-355 & Boughton, in Bolingbrook. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the store's 125,000 sq ft of wide open space, but I've found it's easiest to slowly work your way clockwise, starting at produce and ending at the freezer section. It's busy any time of day, though the staff keeps things moving so there's rarely a line at checkout. The liquor aisles are stocked with a large assortment of beer, wine, and spirits. I picked up a 24pk of Michelob Ultra (12oz cans) for $17 and a case of Two Brothers (12oz craft bottles) for $24. Kirkland's award-winning vodka is a close relative of Grey Goose, and you can get 1.75L of this stuff for only $27......welcome to the party, pal! Milk comes in those weird gallons with the off-center lid--it's not much cheaper than at ALDI or Meijer. You can get a 35ct of diet Coke for $14 (this comes out to 40¢ per can). While stocking up on human consumables, we usually pick up a few months' worth of cat food and kitty litter for Lana, our feline Queen of Thieves. Food court options vary depending on location, though you can always count on pizza for $1.99/slice, as well as the $1.50 hot dog combo (footlong + fountain drink). Remember to ask for condiments if you're planning on eating in your car. The first few times I visited this Costco, they didn't offer the chicken bake, but now it looks like they do, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Basic membership is $60/year. We upgraded to the executive membership ($120/year) at the insistence of a staff member, who explained that we'd get an additional 2% cashback in the form of a check at years' end. I'm not entirely convinced that this is the best option, however, since we'd need to spend a total of $3,000 annually at Costco to break even on the "upgrade". We might've gotten duped. * TL;DR * Who said shopping in bulk wasn't an action packed adventure? It might not have as many grenades and gunfire as your typical outing from the baldheaded hero, but the savings will surely have you saying "yippee ki yay". Seasonal items (like skeletons and Christmas trees) are gone just as quickly as they arrive, so if something tickles your fancy, buy it. Our buddy John McClane can get a big box of gauze for his bloody feet, and, thanks to Costco's service/installation department, the Nakatomi Building can replace all their shattered glass on the 33rd floor (there's a lot of it). Grab an XL box of Twinkies in the snack aisle for loyal patrolman Al Powell, too! Costco is pretty legit. Perhaps this review is destined for a sequel......

Beware the lot is always full and customers do not respect putting carts back and damage is caused. it must be a frequent thing at this location because they have signage stating it, see the pic's. Park at your own risk and I parked far out. Otherwise the store is clean and well maintained but on this visit to save a few bucks it cost me way, way more. If it's a busy store and it's a problem, hire an extra cart person.

It's Costco...The membership prices are almost understandable to me now! I can't wait for them to return to Samples and demos...Their Rotisserie Chicken is simply the best at $4.99...Plenty of Champagne, Red and White wines all at or below regular store prices. Look for the savings stickers, Buy in bulk and save more. Prices ending in .97 are closeout, so stock up on your favorite wines when you can. Found everything I was looking for and the staff is very polite - even the free sample folks are pleasant. Bathrooms are clean, soap in dispensers and towels and blow dryer both available. Food court wasn't busy and my order came out as soon as I placed it on the kiosk. Overall good store. Every time, when I visited this place, I've been getting a great experience. Thanks to the entire staff for doing a great job during these tough times and thanks for keeping everyone safe with masks on.

ALL QUIET ON THE MIDWESTERN FRONT…read more The Bolingbrook Promenade is pretty sleepy, as outdoor malls go. It's one thing for a shopping center to feel chill, but if walking around elicits a few yawns, maybe it's time to invest in some Nugenix. Yes, I'm suggesting that The Promenade is suffering from "low T", which happens to lots of mall in their later years. You can access the mall from Boughton Rd or Janes Ave. The Promenade is missing several things that are synonymous with most malls: food courts, escalators, an Auntie Anne's (or a Wetzel's Pretzels), Cinnabon, Hot Topic or Spencers. I'm glad to have Prince Arcades, though the $20 entry fee is discouraging (I'd rather pay-per-game instead, ain't nobody got time for an all day pass). The space formerly occupied by Mora Asian Kitchen has been vacant for several years despite signage still being present, not a good look for the mall. Danny's Pizza & Burger Bar closed (*was evicted) back in April due to $163K in unpaid rent. Bar Louie, a stalwart of the Promenade for more than 17 years, recently shut their doors due to bankruptcy. The annual Taste of Bolingbrook is held here, but the 2025 edition relied more on food trucks than local businesses. They have a nice big Christmas tree during the holidays, trick or treating around Halloween, and other events throughout the year that attract a decent crowd of people. * TL;DR * The Promenade just can't compete with the fountains, vibes, and variety of stores at Oakbrook Center (a superior outdoor mall half an hour northeast of here). Part of me wishes the Promenade would get converted into a downtown area, since Bolingbrook is lacking one. The handful of empty storefronts and sporadic foot traffic gives off the energy of a ghost town, and on more than one occasion I found myself wondering aloud "where IS everyone??" This laid-back mall could benefit from an infusion of new businesses. I'll come here to shop for specific items, but if I'm just interested in browsing, walking around, or casual people-watching, I'll go somewhere that feels more alive (Fox Valley, Yorktown, etc).

THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN…read more Sometimes it's nice to venture to the far end of where you live, even if it's just a beer run. Of the two Meijer stores in Bolingbrook, this is the eastern location near I-355 & Boughton Rd. It's off of Janes Ave in the same general vicinity as IHOP, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Discount Tire. The store is laid out in a mirror image of the one I'm used to, so it took me a while to find what I needed. A 12pk of Half Acre Daisy Cutter was marked down to $18 (normally $25) and a 4pk of Stella Artois tallboys was $7, also a very good deal. I only bought booze on this trip, so I can't comment on the quality or availability of produce. The shopping floor seemed clean and well-organized. I made use of the US Bank ATM inside and couldn't help but notice it was much smaller than the behemoth at the Meijer on Weber Rd, AKA Bolingbrook West. I stood there slightly hunched over, punching in my PIN on a keypad that seemed tiny by comparison. Were Derek Zoolander present, he would've said "what is this, a cash machine for ants??" During self-checkout, the guy who came over to scan my ID for the beer waved his badge and was greeted with the classic 21st century nuisance--dude's password had expired! He politely retreated to his master terminal, coming back several minutes later to finish ringing me up. A minor inconvenience, plus I got a decent chuckle out of it. Glad I'm not the only one that happens to. * TL;DR * It's not the one I usually hit up, but Bolingbrook's other Meijer is A-OK. The store was tidy and I found what I needed. Self-checkout took longer than I would've liked, though not a huge issue. I don't imagine I'll come here much in the future as the one on Weber is merely a stone's throw from my house. This strikes me as a decent Meijer servicing the people of eastern Bolingbrook, Woodridge, and Darien.

Jewel way worse on that though too (or to download their app). Normally, I'd give 3 stars, but I'm currently avoiding due to the fact they sold me moldy buns (Dave's). I bought them on November 10th, but the expiration date was 10/31 (which I didn't look at until after I noticed the green bread I was holding and almost bit into). 6 month ban for that. Sickening. Oh, and one more thing, not even any surprise, or even an apology, when I returned them. Just business as usual.

We stood in line for a few minutes and most of the employees were just standing around talking. Only two were actually working. One stopped talking to check us out, by that time the line got longer. It's easier if they just clear the line instead of letting it build up.

Records everywhere, well-organized, catalogued in a way that's convenient and easy to find. Their selection is also amazing! I saw quite a few things there I have not see anywhere else. In terms of pricing, everything is pretty fair, dare I say a steal. They had a super rare bootleg for $100, having collected for a while that is a STEAL. I just wish the staff was nicer. The guy working was helpful, I won't deny that. However when I asked for records by a specific artist I like, his first response was to insult them pretty heavily for a controversy they got in nearly a decade ago. Now I am not a para social person--I do not hold personal investment in the perceptions people have on things I like. However I found the comments to be contradictory and rude. The store sells records by the likes of the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin--two bands I love, but two bands who are not free from controversy themselves. This immediately ruined my experience and I really hate saying that. I put down what I was going to purchase and I left. In my opinion, a response as simple as "I'm sorry, we don't carry anything by them," would have been suitable. Three stars. Cool store, great selection, good value. Unfortunately I just had a terrible personal experience there.

And I know it's a car wash at a gas station, but was more impressive than I thought it'd be. I bought gas first, and I really liked the new branding Mobil had going on. There were some slick red and blue-colored structures above each pump, which looked extremely cool. I should also add that I use this phrase "new branding," but also that I rarely go to Mobil and this could've been a change made seven years ago. This Bucky's/Mobil trip is also notable because it was the first time I'd ever checked "yes" at a gas station when asked if I wanted to add a car wash. At Bucky's/Mobil, I saved 10 cents per gallon when adding a wash. That rocks. I only paid $8 for the car wash, which was pretty detailed and quick, and according to my dad, was "gentler on my car" than most washes. I have no idea what that means, if that's even true, or how such a thing is determined... but he's a dad, so I trust it. :) If you ever need a late-night car wash or want to try this inconspicuous gas and car wash spot, go for it! You might like it more than you think.
