I rented a property that The Property Outlet 'managed'. Dealing with these people has been one of the worst experiences of my life. They are incompetent, inefficient and disorganised. They clearly have no concern for their tenants, and are only out to get as much money from you as possible to cover their inability to manage a property. They ended up using unfounded threats in an attempt to bully us into submission. Too many issues to mention, here are just some:
On being let in to the house we identified that the patio door was broken leaving house insecure. This took them 3 months to replace only after involving the council in desperation. They would regularly ring to request access to the property after 'forgetting' to give 24 hrs notice. We found out that they took photos of our possessions without permission, and even posted them on the internet when advertising the property. It quickly became apparent that we could only communicate with them by letter since they would agree things on the phone only for them to deny them later on. When we could finally move out, we left the house spotless as we were expecting another run-in over the deposit. They tried to claim £411 from us in cleaning, despite the fact that we had so much counter-evidence (check-out report/inventory-thank god). They would not accept any of this, and after they threatened us with legal fees, we had to resort to using the DPS dispute service to get the money back. They did not submit any evidence to them and 3 months after moving out we finally got all the deposit back (hurrah for the DPS!)
Avoid at all costs. If you are a tenant and have to deal with them, get everything in writing, make sure all documents are completed thoroughly, and you have signed copies. Take photos of everything. Anything that is disputable (and that which isn't) will be, they have no morals! read more
