This place is massive! Well massive for a town of 5000 people. This is the local haunt, there are good drink specials and the menu is pretty tasty as well. As a ski bum I found the menu a bit pricey but they make up for it with tasty daily specials and some of the best soups in Fernie (Corn Chowder is my fav!). In my opinion Sunday is the day to go eat , that is pulled pork day and it is damn good! They also do ribs on Thursdays that are well worth checking out. The service is really attentive and everyone is really friendly, you feel more like you are at a buddy's place than a bar which is wonderful! The whole place is done up in ski town fashion with skis and snowboards adorning the walls. There are 2 pool tables to lose all you money at, and in the summer there is an outdoor patio. They also have the top 2 requirements of any great Canadian bar - buck hunter and a shot ski. For anyone who does not know what a shot ski is get 4 friends with relatively good hand eye coordination and timing and go down to the Pub. You will be met with a ski that has 4 shot glasses glued to it. Good luck, at first these are easy but as the night goes on not so much! If you are in Fernie on vacation of have moved here for the epic snow, this is a place you should definitely stop by. read more

Other reviews are correct, standard pub menu. This place is kid friendly! They have high chairs and allow kids until late in the afternoon. Also colouring - but you have to ask for the high chair and the crayons. This is a local hang out at nights. The beer is OK, the first pint I got was flat tho. I certainly wouldn't call it a brew-pub. The food was exactly what we thought it was going to be - pub fare. Meh. read more

'Twas good. Burger was great. Kids allowed to 9 which we did take advantage of, but it was pretty loud and lots of the crowd may forget this accommodation with kids present after a couple brewskies. Ugh, they get 2 1/2 stars for trying to fix their screwups, but I cannot recommend them in good conscience. The Pub at Park Place Lodge shares a kitchen with Max, the supposedly nicer restaurant on site, and the menus are almost identical, including the pricing. Given recent food intolerances, that left me with only 1 item I could eat, the portobello "burger", as long as they omitted most of the toppings. I gave the server very clear instructions - mushroom, red peppers, lettuce, and absolutely nothing else. No dairy, no added fats, no side dish. My partner ordered the fish & chip special. The place was quite busy, so it took 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. My "burger" was slathered in chipotle mayo, so generously that it somehow had oozed out onto the top of the bun. The server apologized profusely, and said my replacement would only take a few minutes. The manager also came out to apologize, then the server came back to say my meal would be comped. Ok, mistakes happen. I wasn't thrilled, but I was still looking forward to my dinner. 10 minutes later, a guy came out with my "burger", mumbling "sorry about that" as he dumped it in the table & escaped. I peeled back the bun to reveal ... 2 slabs of Brie melted into the portobello. At this point, I decided my emergency food stash in the hotel room would be safer than anything I could get here. I left. I tried to catch the server's attention as I left, but she was gossiping with a coworker. My partner tells me it took 5 minutes for staff to check in. They apologized again, comped his meal & beer, & offered me a free meal if I would return. He declined. Later that evening, the manager appeared at our door with a huge vase of flowers and a $50 gift certificate to the pub. I will give them credit for trying. Unfortunately, I am allergic to flowers, and there was no way to cart this vase home in the car, so we left it for the cleaning staff. I urged my partner to go back for dinner & beers on the gift certificate, but he confessed that his second piece of fish was mostly batter, so he'd rather not. I am probably being overgenerous in giving them 2 1/2 stars, but I do appreciate a good apology. read more

Management is aware that a door in the women's washroom is broken and has refused to fix it for three years. This is a pretty standard pub. The new menu has several more vegetarian and pescatarian options, which is great. Trivia night on Thursdays is always fun and now runs almost all year long. The draught specials can be hit or miss sometimes; they can be on sale because the kegs are hitting their age limits. That said, they are one of the only places in town with What the Huck (Fernie Brewing Co) on tap, which is my fav Fernie beer. Wing night is also good fun and consistent. Wings tend to come out at a reasonable speed, given how busy they get. There's a pool table, buck hunter, keno and some other games hanging around, if that keeps you entertained. read more

This pub was only 1 block away from our accomodations. Went on a night they had $15 beer jugs. If you're looking for pool, beer, & pretty decent pub food, this is a great place to go. I had a burger which i definitely enjoyed. The majority of patrons were probably 20-30 year olds in Fernie relaxing after a day of skiing or boarding. Service was a little slow but it was quite busy. Kitchen also closes at 10. I would definitely return. read more

Pricier than in used to but i guess it's B.C. soooo... But I would pay that money in the states if i knew it would taste that fresh and delicious, worth every penny. Perfect pit stop! Stopped for dinner on way through to Lethbridge. Got to watch the hockey game on the tv and enjoyed a fantastic steak sandwich. Cooked to medium rare as ordered. Friendly fast service. Local Fernie beer on tap is great. I tried the Project 9. The burgers ordered at the table next to me looked big and good. Will return again and will consider staying at the attached hotel park place lodge. read more
