Great stop in Midland. I enjoyed a flight of beer as they had a lot to offer and I couldn't choose just one one. It's a really nice selection. My husband and I split the panini, added a side of beer cheese and I had the spinach side salad. Food was very good! We sat at the bar and the bartender service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance is perfect and matches the vibe. I recommend and we'd go back if we ever go through Midland again. It's a really cute downtown area and parking was easy to find. read more

Whichcraft Taproom is a great dining option in Midland, Michigan! They have outdoor and indoor options. I love that they promote 'Michigan Made' products! There is 3 hour free parking on the street. My mother & I stopped in for lunch just as they were opening! Jesse was a delightful server and sold me on trying the Grilled Peanut Butter & Jelly handheld. I was skeptical, however, because I love PB&J I stepped out of my comfort zone to try it! Jesse was so right! It was gooey greatness! This makes me rethink how I prepare my PB&Js at home! First time being in Midland in a long time and I'm so glad work took me to that hidden gem of a town! Of course, being in a new town, I had to find the local watering hole and Yelp took me to WhichCraft Taproom. I was greeted by the bar back as soon as I entered and bellied myself up to the bar. First thing I noticed was the multiple options in the various styles of beer. Too often, I find a style heavy taproom that will have 10 different IPA's but only 2 options in other styles. Or they'll have 20 taps and 10 of them will be from one brewery. So, it was nice to see that WhichCraft didn't do this. I ordered a quesadilla and it was not only big, but loaded. No bite went without ingredient. Plenty of seating with a clean setting, not too many people when I went so the noise level was just right for my liking. read more

Kids perspective- Good service from our waiter named Jesse. I got a cream soda and it was mid but not bad. I also got the turkey melt and it was pretty good. Got a side of pepper chips they are VERY peppery, no wonder there is dip for them. Bathroom gets 2.5 flushes because it's only two stalls and water gets extremely hot to a point where it will steam. We were in Midland for the day and googled a local restaurant. This WhichCraft Taproom came up with good reviews so we thought we would stop in for lunch. The minute we walked in the door I instantly liked this place. A young man told us the host would be right with us. The host then gave us the option of sitting inside or outside either in the front or the back. It was a fairly hot day so we decided to eat inside and we're seated immediately. Our waitress was Hannah and she was excellent'. Everyone was so friendly and service was excellent. I got the mozzarella caprese wrap and added chicken. It comes with a pickle and chips. For the chips you have the choice of regular, black pepper or barbecue chips all homemade kettle cooked. My friend got the white cheddar grilled cheese sandwich and it also came with a pickle and choice of kettle chips. Both of us had the option of a cup of fruit or a dip for the chips as another added side that was included with the sandwich. The sandwiches were huge. Lovely place downtown just off Main Street. Great place to stop after walking or biking on the rails to trails pathway. We were acknowledged right away and given menus. You can sample several beers in small 4 ounce glasses if you want variety. I tried Grand Armory White Chocolate which finishes with the taste of chocolate, Upper Hand Mano Superior which was a nice light beer, and I think it was Superior Strawberry something which I considered a dessert beer if there is such a thing. We also had a quick snack of guacamole and salsa. The guac was bland until we mixed some of the salsa in with it. Chips were thick and definitely not made there. Tried Whitcraft Taproom for the first time this week and enjoyed it. The beer selection was extensive and the server told me that they were all from Michigan. I didn't double check, but I did notice a lot of familiar Michigan based breweries. I tried a flight of various IPAs, and they were all very good. I had the cuban sandwich and it was also very good. It was nice to see that they served a dip with the chips that came with it. That was a pleasant surprise. The menu was a bit heavy on sandwiches but I have no complaints about what I had. I just think it would be nice to have a few more options than the menu presented. I noticed a couple salads at a neighboring table. that looked delicious. It has a nice atmosphere too. They have all kinds of games along the wall that if you want to play at your table you're encouraged to. My server was very pleasant and attentive. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I stopped in for lunch recently and was "welcomed" by a staffer, nattily dressed in sweats, with a scowl and a surly toned "can I HELP you." ( period mark intended). There is an extensive beer menu and those that I have tried were very good. The food quality is good and consistent, but the menu is limited to sandwiches and some typical apps and salads. Get ready to eat some excellent bar food! The grilled PBJ was chefs kiss. We also got the white cheddar grilled cheese. We added pesto, tomato and bacon. I'm salivating thinking about it! The chips and dill dips were a perfect addition, BBQ is my favorite! Jessie made a rum sunset that changed my life and the other person at the bar, John I think was his name made a banger of an old fashioned. I went here with my boyfriend for dinner, we were worried it was going to be busy as we had other plans later in the night, but thankfully it wasn't. My boyfriend previously had been there but didn't have great service so we ordered our food and drinks as soon as the server came over. After waiting for 45 minutes we asked if our food was coming out, the server looked surprised and said she would go check. She forgot. She then proceeded to tell us our table got bumped, which as a former server, if you put in an order for food and drinks, the food doesn't get "bumped" unless they need a new pos system. As soon as we got our food after an hour of waiting, we threw it in to go boxes and left. I would not come back again unless I had 2+ hours to kill. They did not even apologize or comp any of our food or drinks, $50 down the drain, along with our date night. read more

I also enjoyed their turkey/bacon/avocado panini sandwich which I think is one of the best sandwiches they have. We sat at the bar due to a 30 minute wait for a table and received excellent service. They were crowded and the noise level was high. Flights are five 4 ounce tasters and the cost depends on what type of craft beer you purchase. They have 40 taps along with bottled/can beer and wine. Management Used profanity - Meals forgotten - nothing Comp'd - Customer Service not favorable - food good - BUT CLOUDED by poor customer service Visited from out of town, on a Thursday evening, not too busy, with my wife and kids and extended family. Our daughters meal was left off and her food wasn't delivered with the other food. We had to bring to our waitresses, attention that she never got her food, her reply was "Oh, what did she order?" She also, never brought any napkins to the table. She went back to the kitchen and said it would be . I then asked her what had happened, was her order left off. She replied "yes." I then asked will her meal be comp'd and she said I would have to get with management. Management never approached our table to apologize, and sent her back and said there would be a charge for the meal. I went to the bar to approach management, two managers, a male and female, and the male had a "brush off" type attitude from the start. I explained the situation and they stated they wouldn't comp the meal and and he even used profanity directed at me. Thankful I went to the bar and they didn't say that in fro t of the kids. Decent food, but the SERVICE is less than desirable, and the managers approach to customer service is totally unprofessional. Wonderful cheese and meat platter. The goat cheese with preserves is fantastic! Our waitress have the perfect recommendation for my husband who prefers lighter beers. She suggested the "lolly" something or other and he had 2 glasses. I had the red sangria and it was delicious. This bar is built for locals, and that is the vibe it gave off, as they have a mug club. WhichCraft had 15+ beers on tap and 70+ in total, which most were local breweries, which was cool to see. The bartender was knowledgeable and gave me some recommendations and provided what beers they are similar to. They have food, but we didn't eat or look at the menu. The bar has a cool Biergarten vibe to it, but the lighting is somewhat dim. I though the chalk art was very cool. They do have board games that you can play. Won't comment on the beer as everyone has their own tastes and preferences, but I will say they have an extensive number of options between draft, bottles, and cans. My Cuban sandwich was excellent. Pepper chips were tasty, but a bit heavy on the pepper. Taste was a little overwhelming. Wife had a gluten free chicken panini and friend a wrap of some sort. Both were favorable. Featuring dozens of Michigan brewed beers on a well-organized (by beer style) menu, WhichCraft will have what you are looking for ... unless they've run out of a particular beer, which happened while I was there. I only had a snack - the IPA Honey Dijon & Beer Cheese was nice - but they were offering BBQ the night I was there. The service is efficient and it's nice and warm even when it's below zero outside. Some of the wood benches are so wide it's difficult to get into them unless you are on the end, but the big damper to WhichCraft is the weird lighting scheme. I've been told it's less bright than before, but the tone of the lighting is really harsh. It's not very flattering and could be a turnoff if you are on a date or trying to hit on someone. The lighting in the bathroom area is even brighter and will surely sober you up (which could be a good or bad thing). read more
