Fried pickles and purple cow milkshake

The purple milkshake was tasty and fun! Our server was pleasant and all the meals were incredible and quickly served fresh! Started with fried pickles, and Philly steak sandwich, burger and the club were delicious!! The place was super clean and the ambiance was perfect for our lunch. Great place to stop on our trip across the state.

This was a fun stop! I had heard about the Purple Cow restaurants before so when we were driving through Conway tonight we decided to stop by for dinner. The restaurant is large, bright and welcoming. There was plenty of seating and even a party room to the side. We were not greeted right away as the hostess was decorated a tree and finished before she came over to seat us. She did not give us or offer a kids menu and we had to ask for one once seated. Cooper, our server, came over and got our drink orders. The menu was very large and they have additional dessert and kids menus. He did not make an recommendations or explain anything to us but he was very friendly. We ordered the signature Purple Cow Vanilla shake to drink and it was brought over in a small glass and the extras in a cold metal cup. My kids liked it but we're disappointed it didn't come with the cherry and whipped cream as pictured on the front of the menu. We ordered the sampler platter as an appetizer. It was large and good for sharing and came with 4 different dipping sauces. It was all heavily fried though so skip if you don't want so much fried stuff. I will say it all tasted good and was not greasy. It included pickle spears, onion rings, potato wedges, cheese sticks, and fried mushrooms. For dinner my youngest daughter got a chili dog which she devoured. It came with homemade chips. My other daughter and I share the club sandwich and sweet potato fries. The club was great although a little dry but it came with boiled eggs which I thought was a cool twist. The sweet potato fries were OK. Very thin, no seasoning, and came with a side of honey which was interesting. I probably wouldn't order them again. My husband got the turkey reuben on gluten free bun. I was so excited to find out they had a gluten free bun. I did not see it listed anywhere but when asked the server said it was available. The sandwich was OK he said. Very little saurkraut and onions added which was different for a reuben. The 1000 island sauce also was homemade and came on the side and looked like mayo. I don't think it was his favorite but it was ok for him since he is so limited with his allergies. I did ask the server about pickles with the sandwiches and he said they don't have pickles. I showed him the menu which literally says "pickles on the side " with almost every sandwich and he just said we don't have pickles spears (that is confusing b/c we got fried ones with our sample platter) and those are pickles slices on the side. Well, either way we did not get ANY pickles with any of our meals even after asking. When we got the check there were a lot of upcharges which I understand restaurants do but I always feel like the server should mention them and he did not mention any. Even when I ordered a chili dog for my 10 year old and asked if it was available on the kids menu he said yes but when we got the bill he charged her for an adult meal without telling us. Our sweet potato fries were a big upcharge at around $3.50 and the gluten free bun was another $2. So be aware when you are ordering. Not everything is listed or mentioned. Overall, The Purple Cow is a fun place and I would come back just for the atmosphere and cool desserts. I think the servers and kitchen need some training on what comes with items and the upcharges need to be mentioned.

My kids love this place and insist on stopping anytime we are driving through. Tortilla soup is good. So are the sweet potato fries. Burgers are ok, but nothing spectacular. Fried mushrooms are tasty. We always get a purple vanilla shake. This visit it didn't taste like much, but was still fun to drink purple ice cream. They keep it chilly in the dining room so bring a jacket. We never have any issues finding free parking. It's alway fun to wander around the Hendrix College campus afterwards.

The burger I got was okay. Mid really .... There was no flavor in the burger. Fries solid 8/10 (needs more salt). Service was great. Had a nice server. Atmosphere was cozy. Definitely a place to get delicious ice cream or a milkshake after the game.

Pretty decent food, great atmosphere, and decent service. The only reason this place wouldn't get a 5 star rating is because some of the food wasn't the best. My brother ordered a Caesar Salad and he thought it was super drenched in Caesar Salad sauce, so he didn't eat it, and my step mom ordered a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese, and it didn't taste good, but her chili fries were good! My food and my dad's tasted good overall, he got the chicken sandwich while I got a beyond burger. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to have a nice meal with their friends and/or family!

Loved this place. We had fried green beans, ranch burger, cheeseburger, fries and a Elvis milkshake. Everything was hot and delicious. Definitely would go back. Server was friendly and helpful.

white balsamic and berry caramel salad with added chicken

We had a very inconsistent lunch visit on a rainy Monday. Our orders were taken pretty quickly. When our food soon came out, the white balsamic and caramel salad I ordered didn't include the additional chicken I requested. I brought this up and the server apologized, saying it'd be about 5 minutes (it was more like 10). Meanwhile, my husband ate his steak knife smokehouse burger with fries and our son worked on his fries; their food was all good. My salad came out with the chicken, which was exceptionally good, especially with a drizzle of the unique and delicious dressing. I had to stop the server, though, to request napkins, which he hadn't provided. The most serious misstep came at payment time. The credit card payment slip was $3 more than the itemized receipt. My husband took a picture of the receipts side by side. At that point, after the delays with my meal, we really needed to go. He calculated the server's error into the tip and off we went. We both know what it's like to be a new worker someplace. Our server was new and seriously needed more training, and I hope he gets it. While the kitchen makes good food, this is not a place we would visit again when in Conway.

Welp.... the FC Tornado struck again at the Conway location!! I have to give 5 stars because they were patient and the sweet gal on her second month had the privilege of serving our crazy crew!! There were a few bumps but who would not expect that from multiple families and a table full of soccer players ordering. The food was great, the evidence being we all had full tummies and the girls are ready to go back again.... might become a tradition for central AR soccer games. Thanks for the great ice cream, great burgers and patience with us!

The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back!

We arrived at 7:15pm and told that it would be over an hour wait for the dining room or we could sit in the bar area immediately, so we chose the bar area. Our server came to take our drink order while we looked at the menu. I asked about the beer on tap and was told that it was local craft brewers, I asked if Coors Light in the bottle was available and was told yes. I ordered that and was asked if I wanted a glass with it and I said no that I preferred to drink out of the bottle. Well, in a few minutes, another server brought my wife's glass of wine and my beer IN A GLASS! I distinctly ordered my beer in the bottle, but I decided to drink it anyway since the restaurant was so busy. After a few sips I noticed an odd taste that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Almost a soapy taste. When our server came for our order, I brought his attention to the beer being in a glass and not how I ordered. He said that he would correct it. He took our order, we both ordered the Ribeye cooked medium. When it came time for our salads, my wife had hers promptly but mine wasn't. We had to remind our server twice before my salad arrived, but it came about 2 minutes before our steaks. So naturally because of the size of the table we were at, I couldn't eat my salad. (We were at a small table for 2) Just as I thought that things would be better, my steak was so chewy that I couldn't enjoy it. Now I realize that it was Friday night and y'all were extremely busy, but come on now, $50 for a Ribeye that was the quality of something you would get at Texas Roadhouse or Logan's? Sorry for being so brutally honest, but we were very disappointed in our visit.....
